Abstract: A method to preparing suspensions of metal or metal alloy nanoparticles in an ionic liquid involves the physical vapor deposition of a metal or a mixture of metals onto an ionic liquid. The method can be modified by the introduction of a reagent during or after formation of the suspension to yield nanoparticles of a metal salt. The nanoparticles can be isolated from the suspension by the thermal decomposition of the ionic liquid under conditions where the decomposition products are gaseous.

Abstract: Fret Dressing Masks: In the manufacturing of guitars and other fretted stringed instruments, it is necessary to file level, after installation, the 20 or more metal frets which are inserted across the wood neck. This is not a job which can be performed by machines and requires the hand work of instrument craftsmen. To accomplish this operation without damaging the neck of the instrument, several layers of paper masking tape have historically been applied. This is a time consuming, expensive process. Fret Dressing Masks are a disposable tool, approximately twenty-two inches long, cut from thick vinyl, and have slots/windows-cut and registered to fit around the frets. In one motion, they are applied to protect the neck instead of masking tape. This process takes less than two minutes, which is one tenth of the time of the current task. Once the filing process is complete, the Fret Dressing Masks can be removed in seconds.

Abstract: An electric cooking appliance that has a removable cooking pot, positive locking between the cooking pot and a base configured for heating food in the pot, with the heating base also being configured for tilting the cooking pot up to an approximate forty-five degree angle from its original position. The appliance also includes a collar configured for upward positioning beyond the top edge of the cooking pot and a stirring motor arm with at least one connected stirring blade that extends into the cooking pot when the pot is in its usable position and locked onto the base. The collar tapers inwardly over the lateral edges of the stirring blade to reduce splashing and spilling in both level and tilted orientations. Stirring speed and the amount of tilt are adjustable. Further, applications can include, but are not limited to, the cooking of stir fry dishes, fudge, soups, vegetables, and stews.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a product for heating or cooling including freezing of food items in a rotating closed pipe serpent. The technology includes a closed non-circular rotating pipe serpent for processing of food items, where the food items are transported in a preparation liquid through the pipe serpent during either heating or cooling. The invention secures a gentle but efficient mixture of the food items that prevents clogging, which secures a homogeneous thermal processing of the individual food items, which again secures a high quality of the final food items. Simultaneously the products used for processing are easy to clean, which results in low costs. The process can be run entirely automatic without the involvement of manual labour, which results in minimal demands for process resources and ensures a high standard of hygiene.
