Abstract: A double-sided adhesive retainer for footwear and other apparel is described. An embodiment of the present invention includes a core composed of a polyurethane foam cushion. The core is flexible and can conform to the shapes of the inside of a shoe and a wearer's heel and/or foot. On one side of the core is a layer of adhesive that stays permanently affixed to the core and can be used to removably attach the device to the inside of a shoe. On the opposite side of the core is a second layer of adhesive that is also permanently affixed to the core and can be used to removably attach the device to the wearer's skin or any apparel worn on the wearer's foot or ankle. The device described is therefore able to ensure that a shoe remains attached to a wearer's foot.

The consumer-portable design allows users to reposition either the unit or the material along an unfinished length of material and form a uniform continuous double rolled hem configuration. Adjustable measurement guides allow for hem accuracy and alternative configurations provide steam supply and steaming options. Alternative heavier-use embodiment enables securing to a table edge and includes an enhanced water capacity for improved steam generation. Multiple mechanisms are provided for gripping the folded material during a use and thermal and fluid flow controls allow control of double rolled hem pressing across a wide palate of fabric and flexible material types.

During operation of the device (2), scale is formed in the steam generator (15), and the water in the steam generator (15) gradually gets contaminated with ions. In order to clean the steam generator (15) and replace the water by fresh water, the steam generator (15) is regularly subjected to an auto-rinsing process. A moment at which this process needs to take place is a moment at which an amount of scale and/or a concentration of ions have exceeded a predetermined maximum. The amount of scale and/or the concentration of ions are indirectly monitored by keeping account of a total quantity of water that has been supplied to the steam generator (15) since a set starting point.

When the setting axle/kill bar is moved to the set position, the door opening gear mechanism causes the door to open while tensioning a torsional door spring. A trip latch and bait pedal are configured to operate together to secure the kill and setting bars in the set position, with subsequent movement of the bait pedal by a mouse serving to release the trip latch. When the trap is thereby triggered, the kill bar moves rapidly to the kill position while releasing the door opening gear mechanism. The tensioned door spring then closes the door.

The refined fatty acid alkyl ester is heated to a predetermined temperature and thus fused so as not to oxidize unsaturated fatty acids contained in the fatty acid alkyl ester, while the heated and refined fatty acid alkyl ester is mixed with light oil so as not to set the temperature of the mixed solution below the cold filter plugging point during the mixture, to dilute the fatty acid alkyl ester by light oil to a predetermined weight ratio.

Components derived from processed MSW waste streams can be used to make such feed stocks which are substantially free of glass, metals, grit and noncombustibles. The method also includes channeling at least a portion of the first syngas stream to the first and second passages.

Abstract: A method for gasifying solid fuel in a co-current gasifier having a fuel silo and a combustion chamber. The method includes a pyrolysis phase in which the fuel decomposes into pyrolysis products, and a gasification phase in which the pyrolysis products are gasified into product gas. Heat transfer from the combustion chamber to the fuel silo is restricted to ensure that the fuel does not dry and pyrolysis does not take place in the fuel silo. The beginning of the pyrolysis is intentionally transferred as close to the gasification phase as possible, and an attempt is made to make the duration of the pyrolysis phase as short as possible. The rise of the fuel temperature is slowed down by transferring heat generated in the gasification phase to a medium, such as gasification air. In the co-current gasifier between the fuel silo and the combustion chamber, there is a cooling channel, which restricts heat transfer and also functions as a preheater for the gasification air.

Abstract: The slide door assembly includes a lower rail provided on a chassis; a lower roller bracket mounted on a slide door and slidably engaged with the lower rail, the lower roller bracket having a roller; an interlock stopper mounted on one side of the lower roller bracket and pivoting to protrude toward the lower rail when a window pane is opened; a locking device mounted on the other side of the lower roller bracket; and a safety device for holding the slide door in an open state, the safety device being locked to the locking device by the interlock stopper when the slide door with the opened window pane is opened. In the case where the slide door is opened, with the window pane being opened to a certain height, the slide door is locked substantially at a three-quarter point by the safety device.

Abstract: A superabrasive product, such as a superabrasive tool, includes a superabrasive grain component and a porous continuous phase that includes a thermoplastic polymer component in which the superabrasive grain component is distributed. A superabrasive product precursor to the superabrasive product includes a superabrasive grain component, a bond component and a polymer blowing agent of encapsulated gas. A method of forming a superabrasive product includes combining a superabrasive, a bond component and a polymer blowing agent of encapsulated gas to form, for example, a superabrasive product precursor. The combined superabrasive, bond component and polymer blowing agent of encapsulated gas are heated to a temperature and for a period of time that causes release of at least a portion of the gas from encapsulation within the blowing agent.

Abstract: The invention provides a tool component comprising a first layer of polycrystalline cBN material which has a rake (working) surface and a flank surface and comprises less than 70 vol% cBN; and a secondary layer across the rake surface or at least partially across the rake surface and comprising a refractory material and optionally a binder phase and optionally cBN, wherein the secondary layer has a higher resistance to crater formation than the first layer of cBN material and has a lower affinity towards iron than cBN.

Abstract: The invention relates to the securing of a grid to a gutter. The invention further relates to a gutter, a grid, and a system comprising a gutter, a grid, and a securing mechanism. Also disclosed is a method for producing the gutter according to the invention.
