Abstract: An outer casing of a non-aqueous electrolyte battery is capable of being mass-produced as well as thin and resistant to damage. The outer casing 4 comprises a casing body 4a and a cover 4b. After being internally packaged, a non-aqueous electrolyte battery 2, e.g. a lithium-ion polymer secondary battery, is sandwiched between the casing body 4a and the cover 4b, which are then joined together integrally. The cover 4b is formed from a film-shaped sheet material 4c of a synthetic resin to make the outer casing 4 thin. The casing body 4a and the cover 4b have a casing body outer peripheral frame 9 and a cover outer peripheral frame 10, respectively, formed by injection molding. Joint portions of the casing body 4a and the cover 4b have stepped portions 9a and 10a, respectively. The stepped portions ensure the mechanical strength against shock and impact. With this structure, the outer casing 4 is resistant to damage.

Abstract: A method and system for removing a wedge within a slot of an armature or field of a dynamoelectric machine is provided. The armature or field includes a core. A saw includes a blade for cutting the wedge. At least one guide is used for guiding the saw along the slot during use. Using the saw to cut the wedge facilitates wedge removal. The wedge can be removed after the saw has cut it.

Abstract: A land grid array (LGA) socket uses a series of inclined engagement features to transfer a lateral load into a normal load to retain the LGA package in the socket. The number and position of the engagement features along the side of the socket permits a more uniform transfer of load to the solder ball array as compared to current mechanisms.

Abstract: A method for machining a gas turbine rotor which is provided with a cooling air slot which concentrically extends around the axis of the gas turbine rotor and is supplied with compressed cooling air via axial cooling air holes which at the side lead into the slot base of the cooling air slot, and the opening of which is covered by bridges which are arranged in a distributed manner over the circumference and spaced apart from each other by gaps. A crack-resistant slot shape is achieved without intervention into the configuration of the bridges by a material-removing tool, particularly a milling tool, being lowered in the gaps between the bridges one after the other into the cooling air slot and in this way the slot base of the cooling air slot being machined and widened over the entire circumference.

A sheet material for forming the outer blade is bent into a shape projecting upward when viewed in the lateral directions. The sheet material has hair introduction holes, the peripheral edge of each hair introduction hole forming a projection section projecting inward beyond the other portion of the sheet material, the end surfaces of a part of the projection sections make contact with a reciprocating inner blade. The sheet material is formed with a deformation suppression section in a specific region not including the projection sections which make contact with the inner blade but including the projection sections which make no contact with the inner blade.

Abstract: A cigar cutter has a body formed of a pair of plates having aligning orifices defining a passage for the head of a cigar to be cut. A pair of opposed cutting blades, movable toward and away from each other within the body each have a cutting edge, which cooperates with the opposing cutting edge during toward movement to cut the cigar head. Each of a pair of bridges is affixed to one of the cutting blades and moveable therewith. A spring engages the bridges and biases them toward an extended position wherein the cutting edges are moved away from each other within the body. A latch automatically engages both of the blades approximate the inward terminus of their toward movement and maintains the blades in a retracted storage position wherein the edges are not exposed. The cutting edges are each inwardly tapered to cause the edges and the cigar to cooperate to force the opposing blades together during their toward movement to automatically sharpen the blades.

The first sidewall includes a first slot and the second sidewall includes an opposed second slot. The first slot and second slot are positioned in fixed spaced relation from the floor and the second edge.

Abstract: A powered vinyl groover includes a motor attached to a circular blade and a blade housing for covering the circular blade. The blade housing includes a duct to carry cuttings into a collection bag. Near an inlet hole of the duct is a fin, which may be a raised surface on any interior wall of the blade housing extending into the blade housing as close as possible to the blade. The fin causes airflow from the blade to be redirected towards the inlet hole of the duct so that more cuttings enter the duct and are carried by the duct through to an outlet hole to a collection bag mountable over the outlet hole of the duct. The fin may be integral with the blade housing or attached to it, and a fin may also be added to existing groovers.

Abstract: A retaining and cutting device for positioning a leading edge of material at one end of a roll and for puncturing and severing the material a pre-determined distance from the leading edge after removing from the roll, the retaining device comprising elongated jaw members pivotally connected together, a closure member normally urging the jaw members together, and a cutter along one edge of at least one of the jaw members. Extensions of the jaw members are manually grasped to urge the jaw members into an open position for insertion of the next leading edge of material therebetween. The device may also be utilized as a cutting tool for opening sealed boxes and the like.

Abstract: A tool for removing a bead of caulk from a joint at the intersection of two adjacent surfaces is provided. The tool includes an arcute handle comprising a friction section on an upper surface; and a hollow scraping section at the head of the handle and comprising a left plane, a right plane, a front tip, a bottom tip, a front edge at the intersection of the left plane and the right plane, and a bottom edge. In one operating mode the front tip, the left plane, and the right plane are adapted to cut and lift the bead from the adjacent surfaces of the joint by inserting the front tip into the bead by pushing the tool. Preferably, the left plane is at an angle of about 90 degrees with respect to the right plane.

Abstract: A pair of gardening shears include two handles each having two teeth portions, and two cutting blades pivotally connected to each other and each having a teeth portion. The teeth portions of one of the handles are respectively engaged with one of the teeth portions of the other one of the handles and the teeth portion of one of the cutting blades. Accordingly, the gardening shears of the present invention can be used to cut branches that have a large cross-sectional area by means of the engaged teeth.

Abstract: Disclosed is a food peeler that has a longitudinally aligned conical body having upper and lower sections, and a recess in the upper half thereof in which a blade is rotatably mounted. The recess defines an area having a flat base and opposed, parallel, vertical sides. The blade is fixed to a blade holder that is rotatably mounted between the opposing vertical sides of the recess. The position of the blade holder can be reversed thereby enabling the peeler to be used by a right handed or left handed person.

The template panel is thin enough so that it does not add significantly to the thickness of the folded sheet. The panel is formed of a material that does not buckle against the pressure of the elastic bands in the fitted sheet.

The dehumidifying apparatus for a dryer may reduce an amount of water used for operating the dryer, prevent the waste of water, and stably supply recycled cool water to the heat exchanger from the water tank.

The microfibre material is exposed in an arcuate section (5) in the front foot portion (2), in the mid-foot portion (3) and in a wheel-shaped section (6) in the heel portion (4) of the sole. An elastomer material is deposited as rounded knobs onto the microfibre material in a fore portion (7) of the front foot portion (2) and in a ring (8) and sectors (9) in the heel portion (4) of the sole (1). A PVC material is deposited, also in the form of rounded knobs, in a transverse band (10) in the front foot portion (2) and in a larger part (11) of the heel portion (4) so as to surround the ring (8). The use of the microfibre material as a means of enhancing friction on an icy surface is also disclosed.

In the bucket are casings (4) for the power transmission and bearings of the working drums (3). The casings (4) are limited by frame plates (5) to which the bearing housings (6) of the working drums (3) are attachable. The frame plates (5) have receiving and fastening formings (5a, 5b) for the working drums (3), into which the drums (3) with their bearings (6) can be positioned through the rear side of the bucket. The sides of the casings (4) may in that case be smooth and their opening wall plates are on the rear side of the bucket.

None of the pumps sequentially controls the second actuators in combination with any of the first actuators.

A bolt with a shank adapted to extend into the hole has an enlarged head at one end of the shank. Cooperating thread formations are defined on the shank and in the hole. The thread formations have cooperating matching cross-sections that decrease from a vicinity of the head of the screw towards the other end of the screw and that extend over a circumference of less than 360° and typically of no more than 270°. The connector is adapted to connect various components, including teeth and adapters, to each other and to lips at the front end of earth moving buckets and the like.

The retaining pin assembly has opposable locating members each having a shank portion able to be slidably insertable via a respective retaining pin aperture on opposite sides of a wear member into a transversely extending mounting aperture of a mounting nose of an excavator. Each locating member also has an enlarged inwardly convergent tapered wedge portion adjacent a normally outer end. The retaining pin assembly also has a tensionable retaining member extending between the locating members from one side of the retaining pin assembly. When tension is applied to the retaining member relative contraction of the locating members occurs to urge the wear member into engagement with the mounting nose by wedging engagement between each of the wedge portions and a rear wall of respective retaining pin apertures.

A cartridge support member is movably supported on the resilient member and configured for moving downwardly into the cavity against increasing tension of the resilient member when the magazine is being loaded. The resilient member when under tension urges the cartridge support member and cartridges thereon to move upwardly during a feeding operation. An adapter converts a firearm magazine from multiple cartridge capacity to single cartridge capacity, and is configured to be removably coupled to the upper housing to cover the cartridge support member of the housing. The adapter includes an additional cartridge support member. The housing and the adapter cooperate to prevent the additional cartridge support member of the adapter from being moved downwardly into the cavity.

Abstract: The difficulties and drawbacks of previous-type systems are overcome by the present invention which includes a locking device for a firing spring housing in a firearm. A main housing is provided including an internal cylindrical portion for receiving a firing spring. A lock rod is received in the main housing, for selectively engaging the firing spring. The lock rod is movable between an engagement position and a disengagement position with the firing spring. A combination disk is provided for engaging the lock rod, to selectively fix the lock rod in one of the engagement position and the disengagement position.
