In one exemplary embodiment, steam is directed through a steam cooker by a plenum that is in fluid communication with a steam chamber. As steam is generated within the steam chamber, the steam fills the chamber where it is directed to the plenum. In one exemplary embodiment, the plenum is formed to extend vertically along an interior wall of the steam cooker. In one exemplary embodiment, the plenum is defined between an interior wall of the steam cooker and a steam distributor that has a plurality of openings formed therein. The openings in the steam distributor allow for steam rising within the plenum to exit into the cooking chamber by passing through the openings. Abstract: The aim of the invention is to obtain great final ballistic effectiveness of fragmentation bullets and warheads regardless of the impact speed while using as little explosive material as possible. Said aim is achieved by combining explosive shell (3) with a damming inner member (4) in connection with an accelerated outer jacket (2). This arrangement results in the best possible conversion of the explosive energy while offering great creative flexibility regarding the design. A wide range of additional possible effects is created by blast-compacting the inner damming member (4). Furthermore, the shape of the inner damming member allows the fragments to obtain a directionally controlled effect. Depending on the caliber and technical design, the amount of explosive material used can be reduced by 50 to 80 percent compared to conventional explosive bullets at comparable fragment speeds or sub-bullet speeds. The explosive material economized is available as additional effective mass.

Abstract: Heretofore there has been a case where a monochromatic image having a sufficient power of expression cannot be printed because of a narrow selection range of saturation. According to the present invention, in a predetermined print head, there is adopted a construction wherein the gradation characteristic of a color region capable of being color-reproduced is enhanced while narrowing the color region with use of a cyan color ink of a low saturation, a magenta color ink of a low saturation, a yellow color ink of a high saturation, and a black color ink, and color reproduction is performed. The color tone of the printed monochromatic image can be adjusted minutely with respect to the color components of cyan and magenta. On the other hand, the color region capable of being color-reproduced is wide substantially in the direction of yellow. Abstract: Plastic materials for packaging have increased dramatically in the last two decades, replacing more traditional materials such as paper, glass and metals. Most plastics are made almost entirely from chemicals derived from crude oil that may require hundreds of years to degrade and can kill wildlife if ingested. Disposal of used packaging products has been an ecological problem due to their non-degrability. Agricultural-based materials are beginning to emerge as promising substitutes for petroleum-based plastics. These so-called bio-based materials, such as starch and cellulose, have the advantage of being derived from a renewable source and be biodegradable into a useful compost. The present invention provides starch foam, as biodegradable packaging material, comprising an expanded starch and water batter by thermo process. Starch foam has low-density and closed cell structure and is mechanical resistant in different temperatures, mainly lower and freezing temperatures.

Abstract: An asphalt mix comprising a pine extract, the asphalt mix having low viscosity at ambient temperatures, and workable at ambient temperatures. The asphalt mix comprises asphalt cement, biodiesel, pine extract and an anti-stripping agent. The asphalt mix is an environmentally safe and “green” product. It comprises recycled asphalt product. The asphalt mix eliminates petroleum solvents beyond trace amounts used to denature biodiesel. The asphalt mix is used for patching at ambient temperatures. Safety precautions for heat and toxicity are not necessary for use. The asphalt mix comprises only solvents that are biodegradable. The biodegradable solvents are pine extract and biodiesel.

Abstract: A pallet constructed substantially entirely of recycled corrugated cardboard and/or paperboard materials, having a top deck comprising a planar laminate of corrugated cardboard and/or paperboard materials, and a plurality of spacers affixed to the top deck and projecting downwardly from the bottom surface thereof. The spacers comprise part-cylindrical portions of wound multilayer paperboard tubes, i.e., wound multilayer paperboard tubes that have been cut along a plane passing through or parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the tube. The part-tubes are affixed to the top deck such that the outer cylindrical surfaces of the part-tubes engage the floor or ground on which the pallet is supported. The pallet has the part-tubes arranged in three straight rows parallel to a first direction lying in the plane of the top deck and spaced apart along a second direction lying in the plane of the top deck and perpendicular to the first direction.

Abstract: A wall structure and a method for constructing the wall of a building provide protection for inhabitants of the building against ballistic projectiles impacting the wall. The wall structure includes an outer panel and an inner panel. The inner panel is a composite structure that includes a metal sheet having a first face attached to a wallboard panel. Preferably, a sheet of self-healing material is attached to a second face of the metal sheet. A cavity formed between the outer and inner panels is filled with sand or another granular material. A flexible sheet suspended in the cavity provides additional protection. Preferably, a sheet of woven para-aramid fiber such as Kevlar® brand fiber is loosely attached to the flexible sheet to provide further protection.

Abstract: The present invention provides a burner which uses solid fuels, especially waste plastic fuels. Burner size is minimized by having multiple combustion chambers concentrically located around a rotating screw conveyor. Heat efficiency is improved by having air passages disposed around the combustion chambers, thus preheating air for the combustion prior to its delivery to the combustion chambers, while simultaneously thermally insulating the combustion chambers against the environment. Waste plastic is transported from a fuel hopper to the combustion chambers by a rotating screw conveyor having the spiraling auger blades. Speed of screw conveyor rotation controls the consumption of waste plastic and, thus, the amount of thermal energy generated in the burner.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a regulated two stage thermal oxidation of waste and applications to use such a process for energy generation. A system and a method are provided comprising a set up of one or more gasification chambers, which are connected via ductwork to a combustion chamber to burn the waste material. The waste is loaded into the gasification chamber(s) and ignited there and the gas, which is generated by the sub-stoichiometric combustion in the gasification chamber is fully combusted in the secondary combustion chamber at a very high temperature. The time used for the burn down period is decreased and controlled by several air and gas flow factors of the system of the present invention.
