Abstract: A method of sintering a ceramic material comprises increasing the temperature of the ceramic material to a first predetermined temperature and maintaining the temperature of the ceramic material at the first predetermined temperature for a predetermined time period to increase the grain size of the ceramic material. Increasing the temperature of the ceramic material to a second predetermined temperature, decreasing the temperature of the ceramic material to a third predetermined temperature to freeze the grain size of the ceramic material and maintaining the temperature of the ceramic material at the third predetermined temperature for a third predetermined time period to densify the ceramic material. Finally decreasing the temperature of the ceramic material to ambient temperature. The method increases the density of the ceramic material. Used for electrolyte layers of solid oxide fuel cells.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for manufacturing stoichiometric Mg2Ni compound applicable to industry and capable of manufacturing continuously. The apparatus mainly comprises: a vacuum chamber, comprising a material feeding tube; a first crucible, set in the vacuum chamber; a heating device, set on the first crucible; a stirring device, set in the vacuum chamber, and above the first crucible; and a second crucible, set in the vacuum chamber, and on one side of the first crucible. The present invention also discloses a method to manufacture stoichiometric ?-phase Mg2Ni hydrogen storage compound. Through this apparatus and method, the residual waste magnesium-rich liquid in the crucible is poured to another independent crucible, and switch with the position of the crucible originally containing the ?-phase Mg2Ni hydrogen storage compound. Then, new raw materials of magnesium and nickel are added and heated.

Abstract: A delay return gas spring including a piston at least partially received in a cylinder for reciprocation between extended and compressed positions over a cycle including a compression stroke and a return stroke. A seal disposed between the cylinder and the piston separates a primary chamber on one side of the seal from a secondary chamber on another side of the seal during a portion of the cycle. A passage communicates with the secondary chamber and with the primary chamber. The seal is relatively movable between an open position permitting free flow of gas through the passage to a closed position at least partially restricting gas flow through the passage so as to permit gas in the secondary chamber to be compressed in response to movement of the piston toward its extended position, thereby reducing a net return force on the piston and decreasing a velocity of the piston.

Abstract: A shaft sealing device (80) that partitions a high-pressure zone and a low-pressure zone from each other in a fluid machine has an elastic member (86) including a seal portion (88) that is brought into sliding contact with a seat face of a contact-target member that is either a rotary shaft (60) or a casing (12), and a case (82) that supports the elastic member (86). The elastic member (86) has a first elastic portion that continues to a high-pressure side boundary of the seal portion (88), which is located in the high-pressure zone side, and a second elastic portion that continues to a low-pressure side boundary of the seal portion (88), which is located in the low-pressure zone side. The case (82) restrains regions of the first and second elastic portions, the regions being located away from the seal portion (88).

Abstract: A tilting vehicle for the transport of at least one passenger on snow, ice, grass, sand or water is disclosed. It comprises a frame, one steering ski, two tilting skis, two tilting arms, a tilting control device, and connecting elements. The steering ski is used to change the direction of travel. The tilting control device, which is pivot-mounted on the frame, is connected to the tilting arms using connecting elements. Each tilting ski is mounted at one first end of each tilting arm. The tilting arms with their respective second ends are pivot-mounted on the frame around an upper pivot. By pivoting the tilting control device, the two tilting skis can be vertically adjusted to the frame in opposite directions, such as to allow a vertical adjustment of the tilting skis with respect to the frame, resulting in tilting the vehicle frame with respect to the ridden slope, procuring thereby a very stable movement. This tilting vehicle can be used to roll on the ground by having wheels instead of the skis.
