Abstract: A sublimation donor has a first fabric enhancer that sublimates from the donor above a first temperature and follow by a second fabric enhancer that sublimates from the donor above a second temperature. Both the first and second temperatures used are above 260° F. and the second temperature is at least 10° F. higher than the first temperature. Upon sublimation under a single pass processing unit, first and second catalysts triggers the first and second fabric enhancers to sublimate at the first and second temperatures, respectively.

Abstract: A vibration control unit inputs an electrical signal to a vibrating member to generate, in a light-transmitting region of a dust-screening member, vibration forming a plurality of ridges of peaks defining a closed loop around a virtual intersection at which a virtual vibrational axis passing the half-length point of the vibrating member intersects with a virtual vibrational axis passing the half-length point of the dust-screening member. For example, the vibration is vibration whose peak including the virtual intersection gradually increases in terms of amplitude as the amplitude of the peak approaches the virtual intersection, and becomes the largest in terms of amplitude at the virtual intersection. The dust-screening member and the vibrating member have the following relation: 1.2?Ts/Tg?1.6, where Tg is the thickness of the thickness of the dust-screening member, and Ts is the thickness of the vibrating member.

Abstract: In a method for polarizing a piezoceramic material, first, a base is provided that is made of non-polarized piezoceramic material and has at least two opposite planar electrodes and at least one predetermined breaking point because of which a stress relief fracture forms when a voltage having a first voltage value is applied. A number of voltage pulses, the amplitudes of which follow a time-related envelope curve, is applied to the electrodes of the base. The amplitudes of the voltage pulses in a first section of the envelope curve are higher than the first voltage value, and the amplitudes of the voltage pulses in a second section of the envelope curve that follows the first section have a second voltage value which is sufficient to permanently polarize the piezoceramic material.

Abstract: Provided herein are composite passive layers for ultrasound transducers having acoustic properties that can be easily tailored to the needs of the transducer application using current microfabrication techniques. In an embodiment, a passive layer comprises metal posts embedded in a polymer matrix or other material. The acoustic properties of the passive layer depend on the metal/polymer volume fraction of the passive layer, which can be easily controlled using current microfabrication techniques, e.g., integrated circuit (IC) fabrication techniques. Further, the embedded metal posts provide electrical conduction through the passive layer allowing electrical connections to be made to an active element, e.g., piezoelectric element, of the transducer through the passive layer. Because the embedded metal posts conduct along one line of direction, they can be used to provide separate electrical connections to different active elements in a transducer array through the passive layer.

Abstract: A prewinder apparatus attachable to a drive tool to install a helical coil insert includes a body connected to the drive tool. An adapter rotates and is releasably connected to the body at operator selected positions. A prewinder portion displaces in/out of the body. The prewinder portion translates into the body until a fastener engaged with the prewinder portion contacts a stop member defining a predetermined helical coil insert insertion depth. A mandrel axially extends from the prewinder portion when the prewinder portion moves into the body to rotatably insert the helical coil insert. A clutch engages/disengages the mandrel from a drive member. A second clutch or a stall device stalls the drive tool after coil insertion.

Abstract: Methods and devices related to multi-layer tubular conduit are disclosed. The method of making the multi-layer tubular conduit includes providing a hermetically sealed metal tube, inserting a thermoplastic conduit within the tube, and surrounding the exterior of the tube with an overjacket. The multi-layer tubular conduit device includes three layers: a layer of thermaplastic conduit, a layer of hermetically sealed metal tube, and a layer of overjacket. The three layers are arranged coaxially such that they share a common central axis. The method of use includes installing a multi-layer tubular conduit device in a public or non-public environment. The multi-layer tubular conduit offers mechanical protection from harsh and/or hostile environments while still offering the flexibility of traditional conduit.

Abstract: A method of mounting a grate adapter unit beneath a stormwater collection grate includes steps of providing a grate adapter unit having a plurality of outwardly extending mounting flanges, each mounting flange being adapted to fit a different size commercially common stormwater collection grate. The grate adapter unit is trimmed, either at the factory, at the contractor's facilities or at the installation site, at the desired location to select a desired one of the mounting flanges that is appropriate for the collection grate to which the grate adapter is being fit. The grate adapter unit is then mounted beneath the stormwater collection grate using the selected mounting flange. A stormwater remediation unit may be pre-mounted to a lower end of the grate adapter unit or mounted to the lower end after installation.
