Abstract: An automated three dimensional mapping method estimating three dimensional models taking advantage of a plurality of images. Positions and attitudes for at least one camera are recorded when images are taken. The at least one camera is geometrically calibrated to indicate the direction of each pixel of an image. A stereo disparity is calculated for a plurality of image pairs covering a same scene position setting a disparity and a certainty measure estimate for each stereo disparity. The different stereo disparity estimates are weighted together to form a 3D model. The stereo disparity estimates are reweighted automatically and adaptively based on the estimated 3D model.

Abstract: In a system and method for generating a synopsis video from a source video, at least three different source objects are selected according to one or more defined constraints, each source object being a connected subset of image points from at least three different frames of the source video. One or more synopsis objects are sampled from each selected source object by temporal sampling using image points derived from specified time periods. For each synopsis object a respective time for starting its display in the synopsis video is determined, and for each synopsis object and each frame a respective color transformation for displaying the synopsis object may be determined The synopsis video is displayed by displaying selected synopsis objects at their respective time and color transformation, such that in the synopsis video at least three points that each derive from different respective times in the source video are displayed simultaneously.

Abstract: A method and a system of associating correlating metadata with data assets, such as video and audio files, so that the files are rendered as a combination presentation are described herein. The system includes a client a media capture device that provides on board storage, network connectivity, preprocessing, preview buffering, file management, and an eventing system. The method includes capturing the media, associating the media with other media via an identifier, and supports associating correlating metadata prior to time of media capture and during media capture on the capture device itself, and after media capture either on a local machine or on an on-line group. When the combination presentation is presented, additional associated advertising and annotations may be provided upon rendering.

Abstract: Imaging systems may be provided with image sensors having verification circuitry. Verification circuitry may be configured to verify proper operation of the image sensor during operation. Verification circuitry may include one or more switchable voltage contacts configured to generate a voltage drop across a power supply network of a pixel array during verification operations. Verification circuitry may include a controllable voltage supply coupled to the power supply network of the pixel array. Verification image data may be generated by applying the voltage drop or by using the controllable voltage supply to supply a different supply voltage to each row of pixels prior to readout of that row. Verification image data may be read out using the same circuitry that is used to readout imaging data. Based on a comparison of the verification data with a predetermined standard, imaging systems may continue to operate normally or corrective action may be taken.
