Abstract: An improved muzzle-loading firearm with a removable, threadless breech plug retained by a breech plug retaining collar, and a barrel retaining nut for simplifying manufacture, cleaning, preventing fouling and over-pressure situations, and minimizing alignment issues during, assembly of the firearm. The removable, threadless breech plug also allows for straightforward interchangeability of breech plugs for use with various primers and propellants.

Abstract: A firearm receiver taking the form of a thixotropically molded magnesium alloy body. The receiver can be a lower receiver adapted for use in a modular rifle having both an upper receiver securable to a barrel and a lower receiver housing a trigger assembly. The receiver may also be nickel plated. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing a firearm receiver that includes thixotropically molding the receiver out of a magnesium alloy. In some embodiments, the molded receiver defines substantially all openings and slots in the firearm receiver before conducting any post-molding processing steps on the receiver. The receiver may be nickel plated using an electroless nickel plating process. In some embodiments, the receiver has a surface roughness, Ra, that is between approximately 35 microinches and approximately 60 microinches. The receiver may be molded out of an AZ91D magnesium alloy.

Abstract: A fixture for use with AR15/M16 type firearms is provided herein. The fixture is made up of several parts that when used in conjunction with one another mitigate the transfer of torque from the barrel nut to the firearms receiver during barrel installation. The fixture affords the user a method and apparatus that holds the barrel in alignment with the firearm receiver and secures the barrel against rotational movement during installation of a barrel nut or similar device. The fixture may be configured to work with the legacy AR15/M16 type barrel nut, as well as other designs as disclosed herein.

Abstract: A gun magazine speed loader that can load an entire magazine simply by pulling the magazines external follower in a downward motion. Rimmed cartridges are aligned nose down and side-by-side in a loading channel and the magazine and speed loader are then tipped up toward a vertical position with the magazine below the loader. By passing the stream of cartridges through an “articulator” that articulates the nose of the cartridge and feeds cartridges ‘rim-first’ and up through feed lips and into the magazine, the cartridges fill the magazine in a continuous stream, essentially at the speed of gravity-falling cartridges under control of the external follower. The articulator has no moving parts and operates with rimmed cartridges and with curved or low-rake angle magazines having an external follower.

Abstract: An adaptor allows accessories to be mounted to the bayonet lug rather than a Picatinny rail mounted to the hand guard of a rifle. The adaptor of the present invention allows accessories to be used while not interfering with the proper grip on the hand guard and without the need to replace the hand guard with one that has an integrated Picatinny rail.

Abstract: A weapon protection enclosure device protects a weapon from adverse conditions, including water, dust, dirt and sand. The weapon protection device features a material that is tough and durable, impervious to water, airtight and lightweight. The weapon protection device is compact when not in use and requires very little storage space. The weapon protection device allows a user to fire the weapon with either hand while the weapon is inside the protection device thereby allowing the weapon to be used on short notice. A clear window is provided in the device in line with the standard projection sight (such as a laser sight) on the weapon so that the sight can be used even if the weapon is in the weapon protection device. One or more waterproof opening closures are provided. An oral air inflation tube allows for the buoyancy of the weapon protection device to be adjusted.

Abstract: The present invention provides a partially-chamberable laser bore sight primarily for small caliber rimfire handguns and rifles of 0.17 and 0.22 caliber. The partially-chamberable laser bore sight has a chamberable generally cylindrical laser housing, which contains the laser diode and lens. A battery housing that is perpendicular to and rigidly joined to the cylindrical laser housing contains the electro-chemical cells that power the laser diode. For a preferred embodiment of the invention, the cylindrical laser housing, which is preferably made of brass, is inserted into a mold and the battery housing is injection molded around the cylindrical laser housing. An ON/OFF switch is also mounted on the battery housing. The chamberable cylindrical laser housing is inserted within the breech, or chamber, of the firearm. The battery housing, with its ON/OFF switch, protrudes from the breech opening.

Abstract: An automated bird abatement unit prevents birds from nesting in undesirable locations. The automated unit starts its cycle by shocking any nearby birds with the decoy flying out of a nest. A sound system also cycles at startup. The decoy then flies back to its nest, at least partially concealing the decoy. In this manner, birds in the area do not end up overexposed to decoys, keeping them effective.

Abstract: A carbon dioxide generator includes: a storage chamber at the bottom, which is charged with solid that can produce carbon dioxide by adding fluid; a gas chamber above the storage chamber; a fluid inlet and a carbon dioxide outlet on the top of the gas chamber. The storage chamber and the fluid chamber are connected by at least two holes which permit fluid to enter the storage chamber and carbon dioxide to escape from the storage to the fluid chamber. A method of using this generator to produce carbon dioxide includes adding fluid to the generator. It can supply an even and targeted carbon dioxide output, making it useful for attracting bed bugs or mosquitos to bed bug or mosquito traps for detection and/or elimination.

Abstract: An inflatable fishing device. The inflatable fishing device may include an inflatable tube that may include an air fill and release port, and a fishing line. The inflatable tube may also include a handle. The fishing line may be segmented by a line adjuster. The inflatable tube rotates from a substantially horizontal position to a substantially vertical position when a fish has taken the bait that may be attached to the end of the fishing line by way of a swivel snap and hook.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for adjusting the buoyancy of a fishing bobber. The method includes providing a buoyant member and a stem guide configured to receive the buoyant member, mounting the buoyant member to the stem guide and cutting the buoyant member. The buoyant member is made of a material capable of being severed by a cutting device and having first length, a lower end, and an upper end. The stem guide receives the buoyant member and a fishing line with fishing tackle. The buoyant member is cut such that the buoyant member has a second length shorter than the first length. The buoyant member is cut to a second length such that the buoyancy of the buoyant member when cut to a second length is enough to oppose the tendency of the stem guide and fishing tackle to submerse the buoyant member such that a top surface of the cut buoyant member is adjacent to the surface of the water when the stem guide, buoyant member, fishing line and any fishing tackle are placed in the water.

Abstract: A fishing rod mounting assembly and method of providing the same is provided. The fishing rod mounting assembly includes a post for removably mounting within one or more cylindrically shaped openings of base mounting assemblies for securing a seat post of a boat seat in a boat. The fishing rod mounting assembly further includes a bar connected to the post, and one or more fishing rod holders mounted to the bar.

Abstract: A fishing lure configured to have a rocking motion when pulled through water. The fishing lure has a body shaped like an elliptic parabaloid. A hook is mechanically coupled to the body and to an egg sinker wherein the egg sinker is proximate one end of the body. A sealer is configured to cover the body and the hook. The egg sinker causes the body to sink mimicking a fish diving. The body is configured to have the rocking motion when moving mimicking the fish swimming.

Abstract: A fishing lure holder includes an L-shaped frame carrying magnets spaced-apart for releasably magnetically retaining the hooks of the lures. The magnetic field of the magnets extends through the frame, such that the apparatus self-attaches to any magnetically-responsive material, such as the side wall of a boat, a floor or a compartment lid's underside. Advantageously, the holders can be removed, adjusted, and repositioned repeatedly to virtually any orientation or spacing. This allows placement to provide a correct spacing that will allow multiple treble hooks on a lure to be secured by the exposed magnets. A post prevents lateral slip-off of a single hook from individual magnets, thus adding additional safety and security to the system. A tackle box includes slots that can releasably receive the base plate with magnetic lure holders thereon, or receive the holders directly.

Abstract: A wrap for use in air-layering made from a long tubular plastic net sack filled with a rooting media. The sack is used for secure placement of the rooting media about the plant surface. Furthermore, a method for air layering large woody plant is provided that comprises of placing the wrap containing the rooting media, over the plant surface.

Abstract: The invention concerns a fresh cut flower vase that is composed of three parts. A tube holds the stem of the flowers with the base of the tube providing hydration to the cut flower stems for a long-lasting bouquet. The top of the tube has a varying flower design that complements the fresh flowers that are placed in the vase.

Abstract: A horticultural growing and support medium is disclosed. The horticultural growing and support medium includes a synthetic foam slab permeable to water. The foam slab has a first growing surface, wherein plants grow to ambient, and an opposite second draining surface, separated from the growing surface by the thickness of the block. A limited portion only of the second draining surface is coated with a coating having a permeability to water substantially lower than the slab material, preferably substantially impervious to water, for controlling the draining and storage of water contained in the slab. The porous slab is made of a synthetic foam having an open porosity.

Abstract: An expandable plant growth system by which different varieties of plants and plant clones can be grown indoors with neither seeds nor soil. The plant growth system includes a plurality of tiers that are stacked one above the other. Each tier includes a water support tray that surrounds a hollow plant support frame. A root irrigation channel runs around each of the water support trays. Water is pumped from a reservoir to the root irrigation channels around the water support trays. The plant support frame retains the plants such that the roots thereof are held within the root irrigation channels to receive water and nutrients therefrom. Water is returned to the reservoir under the influence of gravity by a series of water transfer tubes which connect the root irrigation channels to each other and to the reservoir.

Abstract: A shutter-blind system for windows is provided. The system includes a frame and a plurality of rotatable parallel louvers coupled within the frame. Each louver of the plurality of louvers is operatively coupled to adjacent louvers with a collapsible linkage. The system may further comprise a biasing member coupled to a first louver located at a first end of the plurality of louvers and a resisting member coupled to a second louver located at a second end of the plurality of louvers. The biasing member pulls against the resisting member to maintain tension in the collapsible linkage. According to certain embodiments, the frame elements are coupled within a window opening and trim elements are coupled to cover gaps between the frame elements and the window opening.

Abstract: The door system disclosed herein includes a frame and a door fabricated from a plurality of horizontal and vertical wire rods. The door may have an inverted hook which is aligned to a horizontal wire rod of the frame when the door is pivoted to the closed position. To close the door, the door is dropped so that the horizontal wire rod of the frame is traversed into the inverted hook. At this point, the animal inside of the pet crate cannot open the door by pushing on the door. Rather, the door must be raised so that the inverted hook clears the horizontal wire rod of the frame to pivot the door to the opened position.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a metal door. The door includes a pair of sheet metal door panels. Each of the door panels includes a central body portion with top, bottom and opposing side edges. The doors include an integral flange along each side edge of each panel. The integral flange extends generally perpendicular to the central body portion. An integral inturned lip can be located along each flange and extend substantially parallel to the central body portion. The door panels are positioned such that the central body portions are in an opposing spaced apart relation to one another with the flanges adjacent to and aligned with one another. The inturned lips are positioned in contacting face-to-face relation. The metal door also includes an elongate connector overlying and clamping together each face-to-face pair of inturned lips to maintain the door panels in assembled relation.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a weatherstrip assembly may include forming an elongated reinforcement member, forming an elongated seal member, and trimming ends of the seal member and the reinforcement member. The reinforcement member and the seal member may be formed from first and second materials, respectively. The seal member may include a plurality of sealing lips. The ends of the seal member and the reinforcement member may be trimmed using a laser cutter that is movable in multiple axes.

Preferably the decorative member resembles a crown molding commonly used in the construction industry; however, an infinite number of profiles are possible and only depend on the designer of the decorative member.

Abstract: A post-tensioned precast segmental concrete tower has a stack of annular segments with uniform cross-sections which varies over the tower height. The transition between tower segments occurs in stages and is achieved using annular members or segments which support and anchor post-tensioning tendons that transfer loads passing through the tower as a result of a change in tower geometry. The tower segments are match cast against one another in fabrication to create tight matching opposing surfaces when placed into the tower and to create tight joints. The match casting eliminates the need for grout between precast segments, resulting in a faster tower erection time and high durability of the joints. All annular segments have horizontal joints and no vertical joints. The tower geometry simplifies the formwork system used to precast the segments, and the post-tensioning tendons tie all segments together and to the foundation.
