  • Patent number: 8663491
Abstract: High quantum yield InP nanocrystals are used in the bio-technology, bio-medical, and photovoltaic, specifically IV, III-V and III-VI nanocrystal technological applications. InP nanocrystals typically require post-generation HF treatment. Combining microwave methodologies with the presence of a fluorinated ionic liquid allows Fluorine ion etching without the hazards accompanying HF. Growing the InP nanocrystals in the presence of the ionic liquid allows in-situ etching to be achieved. The optimization of the PL QY is achieved by balancing growth and etching rates in the reaction.

  • Patent number: 8663525
Abstract: Drip emitter having a pressure compensating element that does not contact the enclosing pipe. First known drip emitter formed from a two-shot injection mold process that includes a deformable element, membrane, compressible element or pressure compensating element that compensates pressure or flow of water against a stiff injection molded surface that is part of the drip emitter body. In addition, this is the first drip emitter (two-shot or otherwise) that includes a compensating surface that is not parallel to the membrane, i.e., at an angle to the plane of the pressure compensating element. May include fluid retainment valve, ventable/anti-siphon/non-drain or other, as part of second injection with second or third material. Allows for simple injection mold construction and eliminates need for ISO conditioning to properly seat the membrane before testing.

Abstract: This relates to a method, a device and a curved molded member made of composite material. From at least one composite strip (24) formed of at least two tapes (3, 4, 5) made of unidirectional reinforcing fibers, pre-impregnated with resin and pre-compacted one with the other, the strip is applied longitudinally on a silicone flexible mandrel (13), by compaction under vacuum to confer the specific shape of the mandrel to it, the resulting strip (24) is deposited on a heated metal tool (31) having a curve that complements the shape of the mandrel and forming the core (32) of a pressure and temperature application mold (26), the flexible mandrel is removed then the mold is brought to pressure and temperature for polymerization, and the member is demolded after cooling.

  • Patent number: 8663527
Abstract: A method for arranging engagement means in a concrete body. These engagement means can come into contact with securing means, resulting in a coupling of considerable strength between the concrete part and the said securing means. The engagement means may comprise a screw thread, bayonet-like structure or the like arranged in the concrete. However, it is also possible for the engagement means to be designed as a separate component which is placed into the concrete material. This separate component is then provided with the engagement means proper in that it is provided with a screw thread, bayonet catch or the like. In this way, it is possible to secure construction parts to the concrete part, to hoist the concrete part and to carry out further actions with this part. It is also possible to adjust the concrete part with the aid of adjustment bolts which engage in the engagement means.

  • Patent number: 8663532
Abstract: A reticle comprising isolated pillars is configured for use in imprint lithography. In some embodiments, on a first substrate a pattern of pillars pitch-multiplied in two dimensions is formed in an imprint reticle. The imprint reticle is brought in contact with a transfer layer overlying a series of mask layers, which in turn overlie a second substrate. The pattern in the reticle is transferred to the transfer layer, forming an imprinted pattern. The imprinted pattern is transferred to the second substrate to form densely-spaced holes in the substrate. In other embodiments, a reticle is patterned by e-beam lithography and spacer formations. The resultant pattern of closely-spaced pillars is used to form containers in an active integrated circuit substrate.
