Abstract: Various arrangements for temporarily enabling the wireless device for use on a wireless network are presented. A computer system may store a plurality of international mobile subscriber identities (IMSIs) and, associated with each IMSI of the plurality of IMSIs, an indication of a period of time of a predefined length. An authentication request indicating an IMSI of the plurality of IMSIs may be received from a wireless device, wherein the wireless device has not previously been authenticated in association with the IMSI. The IMSI may be authenticated for use on the wireless network. After authorizing the IMSI for use on the wireless network device, the period of time of the predefined length associated with the IMSI may be determined to have expired. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for playing media assets in a vehicle. A signal indicating the existence of a voice call is detected in a vehicle. It is determined whether a portable device inside the vehicle is outputting audio to a first audio device. If a portable device is outputting audio to a first audio device, the audio level of the output audio component is compared with an audio level threshold to determine whether the output of the audio component to the first audio device interferes with audio output of the call. If the output audio component is determined to interfere with the audio output of the call, the audio component output through the first audio device is repressed. If the output audio component is determined to not interfere with the audio output of the call, the audio component is output through the first audio device without interruption.

The method includes receiving a handover request message from a MSC server as a result of handover triggered by the source RAN. The handover request message identifies a selected PLMN identity (ID) that will serve the MS after handover. A corresponding PLMN ID index is generated that indicates an association between the selected PLMN ID and one of a plurality of PLMN IDs of a set transmitted as system information on a Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH) by the target UTRAN or target GERAN. A handover response containing the PLMN ID index is communicated toward the MSC server for subsequent forwarding to the MS by the source RAN. Related mobile stations and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects relate to automatically establishing neighbor relations for adjacent sectors based on one or more network events. The neighbor relations can be established between sectors that can be identified as inter-frequency neighbors or intra-frequency neighbors. In an aspect, the network events can be active call data events received from one or more mobile devices. The active call data events can be radio access bearer establishments and internal system releases. In another aspect, the network events can be idle call data events received from one or more mobile devices. If a first event ended on a first sector and a second event started on a second sector before expiration of an interval that started when the first event ended, the first sector and second sector can be defined as neighbors.

Abstract: When transmitting data from a data relay apparatus to a mobile station through a plurality of base stations, the plurality of base stations add sequence numbers to the data and transmits the data with the sequence number. The data relay apparatus transfers a first data and second data to the mobile station through different base stations among the plurality of base stations, in which the data relay apparatus transfers the first data received before the second data to one base station and transfers the second data while adding thereto information indicating the reception order of the first and second data. Each of the plurality of base stations, when the data transferred from the data relay apparatus contains the information added thereto, adds the sequence number to the data based on the information and transmits the data with the sequence numbers to the mobile station.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method and an apparatus for device-to-device communication route establishment within a mobile communication system. In the method a mobile node determines that a remote node is within radio coverage of the mobile node. The mobile node determines a need to transmit a data message to a destination node. The mobile node transmits a request message to the base station. In reply the mobile node receives a message including a route to the destination node. The route includes at least an identifier of the remote node. The mobile node obtains a radio resource for radio communication between the mobile node and the remote node from the base station. Thereupon, the mobile node transmits the data message to the remote node using the radio resource obtained.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, computer program products, and software for reducing interference occurring when a capacity booster cell has a coverage area within the overlapping coverage areas of more than one coverage cell are disclosed. Essentially, weights are assigned, either by individual capacity booster cells or by zone controllers with which a plurality of capacity booster cells communicate, to coverage cells. The interfering coverage cells are ranked in accordance with the assigned weights, and the metrics to be reported to each of the interfering coverage cells are adjusted in view of the assigned weights. The adjusted metrics are then reported to each of the interfering coverage cells to influence the ABS muting pattern subsequently used by each of said interfering coverage cells.

Abstract: There is provided a mechanism for allocating communication resources of a cellular communication network to a D2D communication. After an eNB has configured a number of resource pools indicating a set of resources usable in the D2D communication, D2D clusters which share a same resource pool are enabled to obtain resources for their respective D2D communication. By detecting the current resource utilization state in the allocated resource pool by measurement on the UE side, it is decided whether suitable resources are available or not. An overload situation is signalled to the eNB if no suitable resource can be detected.

Abstract: A base station is configured to serve a wireless device in a serving cell on a serving frequency. The base station obtains information that indicates one or more non-serving frequencies on which the device is to perform one or more positioning measurements. These positioning measurements are to be used for determining the device's geographic position. For at least one non-serving frequency indicated by the information, the base station configures a measurement gap during which the device is to perform a corresponding positioning measurement. Specifically, the base station configures such measurement gap to occur during a period of time in which a neighboring cell transmits a positioning reference signal over that non-serving frequency. A positioning reference signal is specifically designed to be a signal on which a device performs positioning measurements. Thus, by aligning the measurement gap with a positioning reference signal, the positioning measurements will prove more reliable and accurate.
