Abstract: A method for preparing a copper alloy given a certain special surface shape yields tremendous bonding strength through compatibility with an epoxy resin adhesive. With a composite part in which this technology is utilized to integrate a copper alloy member as a cover material with a CFRP, it is possible to take advantage of the characteristics of both the copper alloy and the FRP due to the tremendous bonding strength. In a step in which an FRP prepreg is put into a mold and heated and cured, usually the mold is first coated with a release agent to facilitate release from the mold, but with high-technology CFRP, bleeding of the release agent often diminishes the properties. A copper alloy sheet 21 is used as a cover material, and a CFRP 22 is cured.

Abstract: In arc welding, determining a current value to be high in an early stage of the arc period is effective in reducing spatters caused by feeble short circuit in the arc period. In that case, to sharply decrease the voltage that has increased with increase in current, an inductance value of a reactor has to be kept small. However, a small inductance value causes a problem—weakness against disturbance. The present invention provides an arc welding control method that performs arc welding while repeating the short-circuit period and the arc period. According to the method, changing an inductance value relating to welding output in the arc period offers stable arc welding with fewer spatters and insusceptibility to disturbance.

Abstract: An electrical enclosure for use in poured concrete construction having a peripheral wall with opposed longitudinally extending walls longer than opposed laterally extending walls and at least one physical support located substantially midpoint along the opposed longitudinally extended walls to resist deflection of the opposed longitudinal walls caused by the hydraulic pressure of concrete poured around the enclosure. The physical support can be a crossbar extending across the opening of the electrical enclosure with the ends of the crossbar fixed to the longitudinally extending walls. The physical support can also be fastening sleeves extending along at least a portion of the width of the longitudinal walls for receiving elongated fasteners which extend into the concrete form thereby resisting deflection of the opposed longitudinally extending walls.

Abstract: A product dispensing system and a method of queuing usage of products. In one form, a plurality of layers of products, each having multiple items in separate packages, is provided, each layer having a carrier with the separate packages being secured to and extending from the carrier. The layers are assembled in a stacked orientation behind a front layer with layers behind the front layer being at least partially concealed and inaccessible. Products are used one layer at a time, and when the separate packages from the front layer are removed, the packages of the next-succeeding layer are exposed for use. In another form of the invention, the packages for each layer are secured to and extend in series from the carrier for each layer, with a first package secured to the carrier for the layer, and each succeeding package being secured to the next preceding package.

Abstract: A container for dispensing pills is disclosed. The container holds a plurality of receptacles, where each receptacle holds a portion of pills. The receptacles set on a rotating base, where the rotation of the rotating base is controlled by a timing mechanism. The rotating base and the receptacles are enclosed in the container, covered by a lid. The lid covers most of the receptacles. The lid is locked onto the container body to control access to the receptacles. The lid has an opening large enough that one or more of the receptacles may be removed from the container through the opening. When the timing mechanism indicates that a time for dispensing pills has arrived, the timing mechanism instructs the rotating base to rotate to a position in which a receptacle is beneath the opening. The receptacle may then be removed from the container and the pills consumed.

Abstract: Packaging containing a PVDC barrier layer is manufactured without any significant orientation, with the result that the PVDC harrier layer remains flexible at significantly greater thicknesses than when it is oriented. This increased thickness compensates for the reduced barrier properties resulting from less crystallinity of the PVDC, and hence multilayer plastic tubing can be manufactured in which PVDC is used as a barrier layer instead of aluminum.
