Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a system and method for reusing surplus material generated by an Additive Manufacturing system in the process of manufacturing a 3-dimensional (3D) object. Surplus material removed from deposited layers and purged material used for printing head maintenance are transferred to back to the printing system to be deposited within subsequent layers. The reusable material may be deposited within the boundaries of a cross section of the 3-dimensional object to become part of 3D object or outside the boundaries of a cross section of the 3-dimensional object as part of the support construction, which is removed from the finished product. According to embodiments of the invention, a portion of the waste material for disposal may be deposited and cured layer by layer to form a waste block, concurrently with printing the layers of the 3D dimensional object. The fully cured waste block may be then disposed of in a safe manner.

Abstract: Battlefield Chess (BC) differs from conventional chess (CC). First BC has a number of moves in addition to the moves of CC. For example, the knight in CC can move forward, backward, and sideways in an L-shape, for example, 2 spaces forward and then 1 space right or left. Two other differences are the size of the board [22 by 22 (=484 playing spaces)] for BC, compared to 8 by 8 (=64 playing spaces) for CC], and the number of playing pieces. CC has 8 pawns, 2 rooks, 2 knights, 2 bishops 1 queen, and 1 king for each of the 2 teams or individuals playing the game. In BC, each side has 22 pawns, 6 rooks, 6 knights, 6 bishops, 3 queens, and 1 king. The larger playing board, more playing pieces, and additional allowed moves make BC much more challenging than CC.

Trick-taking rounds are played in which players estimate the number of tricks they expect to take based on their dealt hands. Successful achievement of the estimated number of tricks earns an inheritance payout, while failure to match the estimate results in a debt owed to the bank. Abstract: A seal assembly for use in a gearbox has a rotating ring to be secured to a shaft, and having a contact face. The contact face abuts a stationary seal. The stationary seal has a retainer with a channel extending to a bottom. A floating seal portion is positioned within the retainer, with a spring positioned inward of an inner end of the floating seal portion, and biasing the floating seal portion outwardly. There is an inner bore of the retainer which is spaced from an outer periphery of the floating seal portion. One of the inner bore and the outer periphery presides with the plurality of radially located pins. The other of the inner bore and the outer periphery is formed with the plurality of recesses. The pins are received in the recesses, to prevent rotation of the floating seal portion within the retainer.

At least one of the seal faces includes a reverse trapezoidal face pattern having a sine wave depth profile wherein individual face features are circumferentially spaced over the seal face. The reverse trapezoidal face pattern serves to generate a hydrodynamic lift which provides a stable separation of the seal faces that permits formation of a fluid film between the seal faces. The individual trapezoidal grooves have a sinusoidal or similarly shaped depth profile wherein the trapezoid shape is arranged with the narrower edge communicating with the high pressure side of the seal, and the wider edge forms a circumferential dam region towards the low pressure side of the seal.

Abstract: Disclosed is a lip seal for water pump made of a rubber-like elastic material, fixed to a housing as a fixed side and in sliding contact with a shaft rotating relative to the housing; the lip seal being obtained by vulcanization-molding of a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of the rubber-like elastic material, 1 to 150 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 5 to 90 parts by weight of a non-reinforcing filler having an average particle diameter of 1 ?m or more, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a coupling agent, 1 to 15 parts by weight of a co-crosslinking agent, and 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an organic peroxide. The lip seal for water pump provides a materially solution, rather than a structural solution, to prevent softening and volume swelling of the rubber-like elastic material and the generation of deposits in the rotating shaft, which are problematic for rotation torque and LLC resistance.
