Abstract: The gate latching device of this invention is optionally a one piece design, although it could be constructed by interconnecting several individual components. An alley post channel blank is formed in such a manner that it has protruding slotted tabs for bolting the post bracket to the floor. This feature allows the alley post bracket to be a direct replacement of the conventional post design for updating existing applications. The formed bracket is also optionally formed from one piece of steel and is provided with appropriate mounting holes installed. The formed bracket is optionally free from protruding tabs that can cause injury to personnel and livestock. A latch security plate activates automatically when the gate is closed. As soon as the gate is closed it is secure. The latch security plate can be applied in other applications, including wall brackets, feeder brackets, back to back brackets and other similar applications.

Abstract: A construction set and method for assembling a Relocatable Habitat Unit (RHU) requires a plurality of flat panels that include male (M) and female (F) connectors located on their respective peripheries. The entire RHU can then be assembled using a single, hand-operated tool to engage a selected M with a selected F. First the floor is established and leveled. Next, starting at a corner, the wails are erected around the floor. Finally, the roof is created. A same, hand-operated tool is used for each task.

Abstract: A sealing module of a vacuum packing machine includes a base, a sealing bar, an air bag, and two guide posts. The sealing bar is mounted on the guide posts which are secured on the base. The sealing bar has a bottom provided with a substantially inverted T-shaped mounting groove. The air bag is mounted in the mounting groove. The mounting groove has two opposite sides each provided with an arcuate positioning recess. Thus, the sealing bar is located between the guide posts by the mounting groove and the arcuate positioning recess, so that the sealing bar is locked onto and detached from the base easily and quickly. In addition, the sealing bar can be detached from the guide posts easily and quickly, so that the sealing module is disassembled quickly and can be cleaned easily.

Abstract: A method for shrinking selected spaced apart portions of film wrapped around a series of products of similar dimension being conveyed by a conveyor along a path in a selected direction is provide. The method involves the steps of: (a) indexing the conveyor and stopping the conveyor; (b) while the conveyor is stopped, causing heated fluid to flow from one or more nozzles so that a first heated fluid flow impinges upon selected portions of film in the vicinity of a product leading edge and a second heated fluid flow impinges upon selected portion of film in the vicinity of a product trailing edge; (b) repeating steps (a) and (b) multiple times so that, for multiple instances of the product, selected portions of film along both trailing and leading edges of each instance of the product are caused to shrink.

Abstract: A modular design for large pulse jet fabric filters (PJFF) is divided into similar compartments, which are each “shop-fabricated” in quarter sections prior to delivery to the power plant site. The quarter sections of the compartments are modular and sized so that they can be fabricated at a shop located away from the power plant site and transported by truck over public roads to the power plant site. Once delivered to the site, the quarter sections are bolted together and seal welded to form a PJFF compartment, without requiring additional internal fabrication or welding. The assembled compartment is then lifted onto the support structure as an assembled unit and bolted and/or welded in place. The additional components of the PJFF may also be shop-fabricated offsite to further the benefits of the modular design.
