Abstract: A cooperative multi-user multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) system coordinates spatially distributed transceiver stations for communicating with wireless client devices. The system comprises a network interface communicatively coupled to the transceiver stations via a backhaul network, which may comprise a wireless local area network. A MIMO processor pre-codes NR original data streams to generate NT subspace-coded data streams, wherein each subspace-coded data stream comprises a linear combination of at least some of the original data streams. NT may denote a number of transmitting antennas, and NR may denote a number of receiving antennas. A network controller conveys the subspace-coded data streams to the transceiver stations via the backhaul network and coordinates the simultaneous transmission of the subspace-coded data streams over wireless links to the wireless client devices.

Abstract: In response to determining that a time to a periodic transmission opportunity exceeds a threshold, a UE selects between using a random access procedure and the periodic transmission opportunity to transmit an uplink message. In non-limiting examples given the periodic transmission opportunity is a scheduling request opportunity which is periodic according to an interval configured by a wireless network and the uplink message comprises a scheduling request. In an embodiment the user equipment's determination and selection is conditional on it pre-determining that intended uplink data or control signaling to which the scheduling request relates is delay sensitive. If that pre-determination is that the data/signaling is not delay sensitive then it uses the scheduling request opportunity to send its scheduling request without selecting between the random access procedure and the scheduling request opportunity.

Abstract: A PLL operates in a first low bandwidth mode using a first control loop and in a second high bandwidth mode using a second control loop. The PLL includes a VCO that generates an output signal at a desired frequency used by a transmitter. When the transmitter switches from a High Power mode (HP TX) to a Low Power mode (LP TX), the PLL is perturbed (VCO no longer generates the desired frequency) and must resettle within an allocated time. In one example, the VCO frequency is 3.96 GHz and the settling time requirement is 25 microseconds. Upon switching from HP TX to LP TX, the PLL is switched to the second high bandwidth mode 15 microseconds and is then switched back to the first low bandwidth mode. The PLL resettles to within 1 ppm of the initial VCO frequency of 3.96 GHz within the allocated 25 microseconds.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments providing carrier separation to effectuate a dual carrier operation of a wireless communication device. Processing circuitry may acquire a single carrier signal based on a determined time slot boundary, the single carrier signal comprising primary carrier data. The processing circuitry may receive a dual carrier radio frequency signal based on the determined time slot boundary, the dual carrier radio frequency signal comprising the primary carrier data and secondary carrier data. The processing circuitry may then generate a baseband dual carrier signal by demodulating the dual carrier radio frequency signal. The processing circuitry may separate the primary carrier data from the baseband dual carrier signal by filtering the baseband dual carrier signal. The processing circuitry may also separate the secondary carrier data from the baseband dual carrier signal by filtering the baseband dual carrier signal.

Abstract: Various aspects of an approach for generating a large number of balanced weight sequences such as balanced Hamming weight preamble sequences are described herein. The approach provides for the generation of balanced weigh sequences that need to satisfy requirements such as minimal cross-correlation with delayed versions of itself and other sequences in the allowed set. The approach includes creating a set of symbol groups that include balanced properties from which a sequence may be generated by selecting therefrom.

The present invention provides four sessions for SIP, i.e. Login Session, Port Prediction Session, Synchronization Session and Media Session, and the SIP network environment includes a first Internet telephone, a second Internet telephone, a first symmetric NAT, a second symmetric NAT and an SIP proxy server. The first symmetric NAT and the second symmetric NAT are ICMP-sensitive. In the Synchronization Session, the first Internet telephone and the second Internet telephone are designed to transmit packets synchronously to avoid port locking.

A system can display, via a graphical user interface, graphical elements grouped according to a common attribute. Each of the graphical elements can represent an open communication line connecting a first device associated with a first user with a second respective device associated with a second respective user. The system can receive a selection of a graphical element of the graphical elements from the first user, the selection indicating a selected user associated with a respective device. Based on the selection, the system can manipulate a corresponding open communication line connecting the first device associated with the first user with the respective device associated with the selected user.

Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for facilitating emergency services via packet networks. Emergency service providers will implement emergency proxies to ensure that proper call setup requests for emergency services are forwarded to the appropriate entities, even if those entities are in overload conditions. The emergency proxies may authenticate and filter call setup requests to ensure that only proper call setup requests are forwarded to help prevent such overload conditions. The emergency proxies may operate solely in a packet network, as well as at the interface between a packet network and a circuit-switched network to assist in call setup requests originating from either the packet network or the circuit-switched network.

The licenses acquired by the respective customer for the telecommunication system (OSO MX?) are downloaded from a central license server (CLS?) on the internet. A date and a time, and thus an activation time period, are configured via a browser dialog using the web-based management component (WBM?) which is connected to the internet for the purpose of an activation the first time the telecommunication system (OSO MX?) is started, whereby the maximally allowed use time for using the licenses at no charge is set. After the maximally allowed use time expires, the use of those licenses for which no right of use has been acquired is prohibited.

Abstract: A method includes receiving in a network element a packet, which includes a delay field that indicates an overall time delay accumulated by the packet until arriving at the network element. Upon receiving the packet, an interim value is substituted in the delay field. The interim value is indicative of a difference between the overall time delay and an arrival time of the packet at the network element. Before sending the packet from the network element, the overall time delay is updated in the delay field based on the interim value and on a departure time at which the packet is to exit the network element. The packet, including the updated overall time delay, is transmitted from the network element.
