Abstract: A hydrophobic and oleophobic coating is applied to the mesh netting of a lacrosse stick head in two layers. The application is made to the netting by coating the strings either before or after they are woven into the netting, but prior to installation on the lacrosse stick head. In the preferred method, each coating layer is applied in a wet thickness of 3.0 to 5.0 mils (0.003-0.005 inches). When the coating is dry, the result is a dry film thickness of 1.0-1.5 mils (0.001 to 0.0015 inches) for each layer. Thus, two layers of the coating have a total dry thickness of 2-3 mils (0.002-0.003 inches). As a result of the coating method, a surface tension is created on the surfaces of the mesh that prevents water, dirt, mud and oil from attaching to the mesh, thus preventing these materials from permeating the mesh.

The fuel device receives fresh air and provides the air/fuel mixture that is received by the internal combustion engine. The heat exchanger receives the heated exhaust air from the internal combustion engine and fresh cool air, transfers heat energy from the heated exhaust air to the fresh cool air, and provides the fresh air to the fuel device. The provided fresh air is the fresh cool air that has received the heat energy.

Abstract: In an electromagnetic control valve configured to cancel out forces acting on a valve body by differential pressure using a diaphragm, pressure tightness and durability of the diaphragm are improved. A needle-shaped projection is formed on a lower end of a piston section of a valve rod that is a drive shaft. An insertion hole is formed in the center of a diaphragm guide. The center of the diaphragm is stuck on the needle-shaped projection to make it pass through it. The needle-shaped projection is inserted into the insertion hole in the diaphragm guide. An end of the needle-shaped projection is spot-welded. The diaphragm is stuck with the needle-shaped projection to fix it to the valve rod without cutting a base fabric of the diagram. A needle-shaped projection may be formed on the diaphragm guide and an insertion hole may be formed in the valve rod.

Abstract: A fabrication machine is disclosed herein. In various aspects, the fabrication machine includes a brake adapted to mechanically cooperate with a wrapper to impart a longitudinal tension to the wrapper by controlling the force required to advance the wrapper, the wrapper comprised of a cellulose-based material. The brake is adjustable to allow selection of longitudinal tension in the wrapper, in various aspects. Various aspects may include a wrapper roll in mechanical cooperation with the brake, the wrapper being drawn from the wrapper roll as the wrapper is advanced. The fabrication machine secures the wrapper at the selected tension about the core to form a structural member, in various aspects. Methods of use of the fabrication machine are disclosed herein. This Abstract is presented to meet requirements of 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b) only. This Abstract is not intended to identify key elements of the apparatus and methods disclosed herein or to delineate the scope thereof.

Abstract: A method of removing a part from a shaft is provided. The part is attached to the shaft with an interference fit. The method includes the steps of, inserting an expandable plug into the shaft, and adding coolant to an interior of the shaft. The coolant cools the shaft from the interior of the shaft to an exterior of the shaft. Another step removes the part from the shaft. The part is removed from the shaft without sustaining damage to either the part or the shaft, so that the part and the shaft may be refurbished or reused.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a bushing for supporting a shaft within a housing includes: determining a size of a section of the housing inner circumferential surface and a size of a section of the shaft outer circumferential surface; fabricating a generally tubular body having an outer circumferential surface sized to fit within the housing inner surface section and an inner circumferential surface sized to receive at least a portion of the shaft; and separating the tubular body into a plurality of generally arcuate tube segments. Preferably, the tubular body is formed of a metallic material and is separated by cutting. A method of supporting a shaft within a housing includes forming an annular groove in the housing and fabricating a bushing in the manner described above to fit within the groove.

Abstract: To provide a chain tension adjustment device for a chain saw. When a first mechanism is rotated around an axis, a bevel gear of a second mechanism is engaged with a bevel gear of the first mechanism and rotated, and a bevel gear of a third mechanism is engaged with the other bevel gear of the second mechanism, so that a shaft portion is rotated. A plate portion integrated with a nut portion of a fourth mechanism screwed on a screw formed on the shaft portion moves in an axial direction, and a guide bar engaged with an engagement portion of the plate portion via an engagement hole moves in a longitudinal direction, to adjust tension of the chain saw by adjusting the movement amount. Thus, fine adjustment can be performed while reducing an operating force, and reducing the weight and the cost.
