Abstract: The present invention relates to jewelry or a metal composition containing an additive or personalizing substance such as a nucleic acid, sand or other suitable component intended to have personal significance to the wearer. A nucleic acid personalizing substance may comprise human DNA of amplified repeat sequences. The jewelry may be made by using a cold or warm metallurgical technique. Prior to being integrated into the article of jewelry, the additive may be encapsulated to provide a protective layer around the personalizing substance. The protective layer can prevent degradation of the personalizing substance during manufacture of the article of jewelry. The personalizing substance can also be added to a polymer solution which is cast to form a continuous matrix of polymer including the personalizing substance.

Abstract: A length-adjustable tube for trekking sticks etc, comprising an outer tube and an inner tube insertable telescopically into the outer tube, and an expanding device with which the inner tube is clampable in the outer tube. The expanding device has an expanding element which can be pushed apart radially and is provided with a taper, and an inner element which is provided with an opposed taper and is accommodated in the expanding element. An adjustment screw held on the inner tube is operatively connected to an internally threaded bore in the inner element A clamping section is arranged on the expanding element, which, in a relaxed state, has a greater radius than the radius of the expanding element. The clamping section is elastically offsettable inwards counter to a restoring force.

In some embodiments, the grounded walking devices comprise: a conducting rubber handle; a support shaft assembly that is conductive; and a ground contact that is conductive and coupled to the handle via the support shaft assembly. In some embodiments, the support shaft assembly is a part of a cane, an umbrella, a walking stick, a ski pole, a walker, and/or a crutch.

Abstract: A solar-powered umbrella has a cap structure that is connected by hinges to struts. The struts are relatively rigid and positioned above the umbrella shade and house solar panels. When the umbrella is opened and closed, the struts rotate via the hinges from an open to closed position. When the solar panels are exposed to the sun, light is converted to electrical energy to charge a rechargeable battery. The battery supplies power to one or more USB ports. A user can recharge an electronic device (e.g., smartphone or tablet computer) by connecting to a port of the umbrella using a cable.

Abstract: A decorative coin bank for holding and displaying coins and paper currency. The coin bank has a decorative housing resembling any of various decorative figures, such as an animal, an automobile, sports equipment, among other ornamental objects. The exterior surface of the housing includes a plurality of recessed areas thereon in which coins can be positioned for display and storage. The recessed areas are shaped and sized so as to receive and secure a coin therein without the use of additional fasteners. Further, the housing has a hollow interior volume and includes a slot thereon for providing access to the interior volume. Thus, a user can insert coins and paper currency through the slot into the interior of the coin bank for storage.

Abstract: In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, systems and methods for providing foldable duffle bags are presented. Such exemplary collapsible duffles can have two states: (i) a fully extended state in which said luggage is used by a user to hold, for example, clothing and objects, and its wheels fully extended and usable, and (ii) a compressed or folded state in which the luggage has a minimum volume and can be easily and conveniently stored and carried, especially where space is a premium, where the wheels are invisible and out of the way. Various novel technologies are used to obtain maximal compression in the compressed state, and to allow for convenient transformation between the two states. Exemplary duffles of rather significant fully expanded size can be rolled or folded onto themselves, the wheels can be turned inside out, and the article compressed into a small hand held carrying case.

Abstract: A carry bag with retractable umbrella is a carry bag with a divider panel dividing the space inside said bag into a main compartment and an umbrella compartment. An umbrella with a retractable means or reel is stored in the umbrella compartment. The umbrella is connected to the reel by a connecting means or cord. The reel is biased towards pulling the cord and umbrella inside the umbrella compartment. The user pulls the umbrella and the cord out of the compartment to a particular length of travel suitable to the user. The user allows the reel to pull the umbrella back into the umbrella compartment when the umbrella is not in use.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide cases for mobile electronic devices. The cases may include a body configured to be selectively secured to a mobile electronic device having at least one sensor proximate to an outer surface thereof and a cover slidably coupled to the body. The cover is slidable between a first position and a second position relative to the body such that when the cover is in the first position, the at least one sensor is blocked by the cover and when the cover is in the second position, the at least one sensor is not blocked by the cover.

Abstract: A magnetic device is provided, which includes an array of magnet stacks placed on a base plate that has a paramagnetic property. Each stack of one or more magnets is arranged such that the opposite poles of adjacent magnets in the stack face each other and preferably are in contact with each other. The magnet stacks form an M×N array; in each row and each column of the array, the magnet stacks have alternating polarities throughout the row or column. The adjacent stacks in the array are preferably in contact with or in close proximity of each other. A case or holder is also disclosed, which have pocket(s) in which the magnetic device(s) is disposed, for carrying mobile phones or other electronic devices or small items.

Abstract: A rotary hair brushing and curling appliance includes a hollow rotary barrel of a thermally conductive material mounted to rotate on a handle, and having an external hair-engaging surface. Silicone rubber bristles are mounted on the barrel, and arranged in first and second sets projecting from first and second arcuate surfaces which are axially elongated and circumferentially spaced apart. Heating elements abut respective abutment surfaces inside the barrel. A reversible motor rotates the barrel. The first and second arcuate surfaces each occupy 10% to 40% of the external surface and are subtended at the axis by respective first and second central angles. The heating elements are positioned outside first and second sectors defined by the first and second central angles, focusing the conductive heat transfer to the adjacent relatively large unobstructed external areas of the barrel.

The retainer has first and second opposing ends. The first end of the retainer releasably receives the second edge of the blade guard, and the second end of the retainer includes a plurality of curved finger receiving contours.

Abstract: A nail care system designed for use in a manicure or pedicure process that is comprised of an assembly of disposable implements required for the manicure or pedicure process and a packaging system comprising individual sections. The individual sections of the packaging system are linked together in a chronological order necessary to complete a manicure or a pedicure, each individual section is adapted to hold and once sealed to sterilely secure a single chronologically ordered disposable implement of the assembly. The individual sections are separable from the packaging system and unsealable thereby providing access to a particular disposable implement secured therein when the particular disposable implement is required in accordance with the chronological ordering of the manicure or pedicure process.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a compact type of airtight cosmetic container. A shoulder cap (40) to which a mesh is coupled and a puff storage cap (50) which stores a puff are successively placed onto and coupled to a medial body (30) which contains a cosmetic therein. The shoulder cap and the puff storage cap can be airtightly coupled to the medial body by a sealing member (51) provided under the puff storage cap and a sealing ring (43) provided in the lower surface of the shoulder cap. A pressurizing means pressurizes the puff storage cap onto the medial body such that the sealing member and the sealing ring are compressed, whereby the sealability of the cosmetic container can be enhanced so that leakage of powder or a cosmetic change attributable to water evaporation can be reliably prevented.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a spuit-type cosmetic container, and more particularly to a spuit-type cosmetic container capable of extracting an exact amount of cosmetic contents and improving convenience in use as a retractable button and a piston are moved down and fixed when a cap part is coupled to a container body by rotating the cap part, and then the retractable button and the piston are moved up so that the cosmetic contents are sucked into a spuit tube and used when the cap part is separated from the container body by rotating the cap part.

One or more fastening mechanisms can be implemented to couple the first panel to the pack flap. Decorative objects can be removably attached to the first panel and to the second panel to customize the backpack. In a typical implementation, a user can decorate the first panel and the second panel with one or more decorative objects and/or utilitarian objects. The user can then decide which side of the first panel or the second panel to face outwardly when wearing the backpack.

Abstract: The present invention, a Back Rack 'N Strap provides a convenient, hands-free way to carry large, bulky items. The invention comprises a flexible solid frame connected to carabiner straps ending in customized carabiners. A series of knobs protrude through the face of the frame. Elongated flexible binding straps with apertures running along their length are provided. To use the invention, the carabiners are attached to the shoulder straps of an existing backpack. A large or bulky item can then be secured to the frame of the invention using the flexible binding straps whose apertures are attached to the knobs on the face of the frame. Once the large or bulky item is securely fastened to the Back Rack 'N Strap with the flexible straps, it may then be transported conveniently by the user.

Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to providing devices and methods for attaching motion capture devices to head mounted displays (HMDs) using existing features of the HMDS, with no modification to the design of the HMDs. A motion capture device is attached with an adapter to a wearable device that can be a personal HMD having a goggle form factor. The motion capture device is operable to be attached to or detached from an adapter, and the adapter is operable to be attached to or detached from an HMD. The motion capture device is attached to the HMD with an adapter in a fixed position and orientation. In embodiments, the attachment mechanism coupling the adapter to the HMD utilizes existing functional or ornamental elements of an HMD. Functional or ornamental elements of the HMD include; air vents, bosses, grooves, recessed channels, slots formed where two parts connect, openings for head straps etc.

Abstract: A securing apparatus may be configured to secure a wearable item to any one of a variety of different graspable articles, in a suitable manner. The securing apparatus may include a securing portion, having multiple securing members. The stiffness of one of the securing members may differ from the stiffness of another securing member. The securing members may be cantilevers. In some embodiments, the anchored end of one of the cantilevers may be attached to the deflecting end of another cantilever. One of the cantilevers may deform plastically due to repeated usage with relatively thick garments, though, by employing at least one additional cantilever in an appropriate manner, the ability to grip thinner garments in a suitable manner remains uncompromised.

In one embodiment, the implement is a fluid dispensing toothbrush having a body comprised of a handle, a head, and an internal cavity containing an oral care material. The head includes tooth cleaning elements and an applicator in fluid communication with the internal cavity. In one embodiment, the applicator includes at least one spring-actuated valve operable to dispense the fluidic oral care material upon engagement with a user's oral tissue. The oral care material is delivered from the internal cavity upon applying a pressing force to a moveable sealing element of the valve. In certain embodiments, a pressurizer may be provided to pressurize the oral care material for positive dispensing. In one embodiment, the applicator is disposed in a soft tissue cleaner on the toothbrush head.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wire buffer device. The wire buffer device comprises: a frame; and multiple of support layers provided to the frame and arranged in layers. Each of the support layers includes multiple sections of wires that support a substrate. The multiple sections of wires are in the form of at least one integrated wire. The wire buffer device further includes at least one transmission structure. Said at least one transmission structure drives each of said at least one integrated wire to perform a reciprocating motion so that at least a part of each of said at least one integrated wire moves into or moves out from the frame. For the wire buffer device, work operability is improved, and secondary contamination to the device is avoided.

Abstract: An adjustable shelving assembly includes at least two support rails, at least one geared rack provided in each of the at least two support rails, and an actuating mechanism placed adjacent to the at least one geared rack. The actuating mechanism is configured to support at least one shelf and facilitates movement of the at least one shelf along the at least two support rails. The actuating mechanism includes a pinion mating with the at least one geared rack, a plurality of permanent magnets mounted coaxially inside the pinion, ferromagnetic disks provided on either ends of the pinion, and a shaft placed axially in the pinion, connecting the permanent magnets. The permanent magnets magnetize or demagnetize the ferromagnetic disks when the shaft is rotated for locking or unlocking the at least one shelf.

Abstract: A bookcase includes a case made of wood plates or plastic plates. The case is formed with a left side plate and a right side plate, a lower side plate and a rear side plate. The lift and the right side plate respectively have a lower edge provided with a moving perforation, which forms a certain depth by making use of the thickness of the wood plate or the plastic plate of the case, respectively having an upper edge disposed with a lifting handle. Thus, a user can move the case by extending fingers into the moving perforations or lift up the case by the lifting handles and further. Two or more cases can be superposed and combined together by having the lifting handles of the lower case inserted into the moving perforations of the upper case. The bookcase of this invention is original in structure, able to be moved, lifted and superposed.
