Publication number: 20160008620Abstract: A therapeutic or diagnostic system comprises a non-invasive brain stimulation device (such as a TMS stimulation device) or other neuromodulation device configured to stimulate a patient's brain or nervous system by emitting electromagnetic pulses according to stimulation parameters, such as a pulse frequency or burst repetition frequency or other parameters, that provides surprising improvements in responsiveness and/or may require only a relatively short train of pulses to achieve high efficacy. In particular, stimulation pulses may be delivered at a frequency of between 12 and 40 Hertz with a 3 to 5 ratio as compared with burst repetition frequency, or at other specific patterns within that range. The stimulation parameters may be pre-stored and customized to individual patients, being identified through an automated search routine during which patient feedback is monitored. A user interface may be provided to allow an operator to conveniently select the appropriate parameters for the desired treatment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventor: William F. Publication number: 20160008628Abstract: An exemplary method of treatment involves the non-invasive delivery of near infrared light (NIR) in 600-1200 nm wavelengths at surface wattage of 10.01-20.00 watts applied using a continuous motion technique. Treatment duration can be 30-1800 seconds, and can be conducted using a specific pulsed NIR technique for minimizing surface tissue heating. This is a novel process of non-invasive NIR/laser therapy. Prior applications used low levels of NIR therapy—most less than 1 watt with some up to 5 watts. Embodiments of the methodologies can be practiced with a laser unit having control for wavelength and for 1-20 watts. A Pulsed (on/off laser beam) control for 1-1000 milliseconds may also be utilized. An applicator with 1-2 cm aperture can be used to produce approximately 0.64-1.95 Joules per cm2 fluence in the depth of tissue. A display detailing watts, time, continuous or pulsing, and Joules of therapy is useful.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Larry Dwayne Morries, Theodore Allen Henderson

Publication number: 20160008630Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for determining a number of beams in IMRT. An objective function providing unit (13) provides an objective function of an IMRT procedure, wherein the objective function depends on a target dose to be applied during the IMRT procedure. A sensitivity determination unit (14) determines the sensitivity of the objective function with respect to changes of the target dose, and a beam number determination unit (15) determines the number of beams depending on the determined sensitivity. It has been found that the sensitivity of the objective function with respect to changes of the target dose is an accurate measure for reliably determining an optimized number of beams in IMRT, which allows for generating a high quality treatment plan and which in turn leads to an improved IMRT procedure.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2014Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Vaitheeswaran RANGANATHAN, Uma Satya RANJAN

Publication number: 20160008631Abstract: An irradiation apparatus radiates a particle beam after forming the beam for plural layers. A dose monitor measures a dose in real time. A dose evaluation unit evaluates an irradiation dose for each layer on the basis of a value measured by the dose monitor and a dose calibration factor set for each layer. An irradiation control section performs radiation control for each layer on the basis of an evaluation result of the dose evaluation unit. An interpolation value generation unit uses actual-measurement dose-calibration factors obtained by radiating a particle beam to a simulated phantom provided with a calibration dosimeter, to generate an interpolation estimation value of the dose calibration factor. For each layer subject to the interpolation value, and based on an irradiation condition of that layer, the interpolation value generation unit performs weighting on each of the actual-measurement dose-calibration factors.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2013Publication date: January 14, 2016Applicant: Mitsubishi Electric CorporationInventors: Hisashi HARADA, Masahiro IKEDA, Osamu TAKAHASHI, Nobuhiko INA, Yuehu PU, Takaaki IWATA

The program logic receives signals from the sensor, determines from the signals whether the piece of sporting equipment is in a sport action state or a mode input state, records a sport action result in response to determination that the piece of sporting equipment is in a sport action state, and switches the program logic to a different operational mode in response to determination that the piece of sporting equipment is in a mode input state.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2014Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Robert T. Publication number: 20160008661Abstract: The present invention intends to solve the problem of automatically analysing the movement performed by a subject. Disclosed is a 3D motion tracking method that allows a user to perform a control movement and so generating a tunnel of motion. Using the tunnel of motion a user can repeat the motion but limiting the movement within the boundaries of the tunnel. The disclosed motion analysis system and methods can be used in medical rehabilitation, sport, science, gaming, robotics, cinema or force feedback applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2014Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Virgílio António FERRO BENTO, Vítor Pedro TEDIM RAMOS CRUZ, Márcio Filipe MOUTINHO COLUNAS, David Manuel DIETEREN RIBEIRO

Publication number: 20160008662Abstract: Systems and methods for ball tracking are provided. An identification processor may be coupled to a ball and may generate wireless signals as the ball is moving. At least three triangulation antennas may be distributed at different locations within an event venue. Such triangulation antennas may receive the wireless signals from the identification processor in real-time. Such signals may be used to determine a real-time location of the ball within the event venue. A controller may then adjust a gimbal to point the camera at the determined real-time location of the ball.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: John Cronin, Nick Reasner

Publication number: 20160008663Abstract: A universal mount bicycle power meter module has a base member with first and second ends and a narrow central portion which is relatively compressible in response to applied forces. Firmly secured to the first end is an internally threaded mounting nut in registration with an aperture in the first end. The nut secures the first end of the base member to an externally threaded end portion of a bicycle axle. The second end of the base member is configured to be firmly secured to a rear frame portion of a bicycle using a mounting clamp. A strain gauge sensor assembly is mounted on the central portion of the base member to generate resistance values representative of the amount of compression in the central portion. The sensor assembly is coupled to a signal processing unit having circuitry for converting the resistance values to cyclist power signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2014Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Shengbo Zhu, Su Shiong Huang

Publication number: 20160008667Abstract: In a multi-piece solid golf ball having a core, an envelope layer, an intermediate layer and a cover, the surface hardnesses of the respective layers are set so as to satisfy specific relationships. Also, the initial velocities measured for the core, for a sphere obtained by forming the envelope layer over the core (envelope layer-encased sphere), for a sphere obtained by forming the envelope layer and the intermediate layer over the core (intermediate layer-encased sphere) and for the ball are set so as to satisfy specific relationships. In addition, the deflection (mm) of the ball when compressed under a given load and the deflection (mm) of the intermediate layer-encased sphere when compressed under a given load are set so as satisfy a specific relationship.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Applicant: Bridgestone Sports Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hideo WATANABE, Atsuki KASASHIMA
