Abstract: A post-processing device for applying a post-process to one or more sheets outputted by a device of a preceding stage, a printer for example, is provided. The post-processing device includes: an alignment mechanism for applying an alignment process for arranging a current sheet bundle; an output mechanism for outputting the current sheet bundle; a prestacking mechanism; and a control unit. The control unit performs a control in such a manner that at least a part of operation of the alignment mechanism or of operation of the output mechanism is switched from a normal operation mode for operation at a normal operation speed to a high-speed operation mode for operation at an operation speed greater than the normal operation speed when a time to completely output the current sheet bundle is later than a time to completely perform prestacking the next sheet bundle.

Abstract: Methods for forming a stock roll including a folded film within another folded film include combining the films and winding them into the stock roll. In particular, one or more implementations of a method of forming a stock roll involve combining films on an extrusion tower. Thus, implementations of the present invention can greatly reduce costs and space requirements, while allowing a single stock roll to feed a bag-making machine in order to produce bag-in-bag structures. One or more implementations further include stock rolls including a first folded film within another folded film.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus that is capable of preventing failure of binding of printed sheets. A PDL processor determines based on print data whether or not needleless binding has been set. If needleless binding has been set, the PDL processor acquires a sheet type of each page from the print data. The PDL processor determines whether the sheet type of the page is needleless binding executable. The PDL processor replaces a sheet type which is determined to be needleless binding unexecutable, with a sheet type which is needleless binding executable. A post-processing apparatus performs needleless binding on the bundle of printed sheets in which any needleless binding unexecutable sheet is replaced with a sheet of the needleless binding executable type.

The location of the device providing information detects other devices in the vicinity and transmits the information to a central system. Then, the central system associates this information with a location of a person when this person is identified by using an identification device attached to a gate, elevator or other transportation device. When the location of the person identified is known, the location persons having mobile devices in the vicinity can be estimated. Abstract: Reactive diluent fluid (22) is introduced into a stream of synthesis gas (or “syngas”) produced in a heat-generating unit such as a partial oxidation (“PDX”) reactor (12) to cool the syngas and form a mixture of cooled syngas and reactive diluent fluid. Carbon dioxide and/or carbon components and/or hydrogen in the mixture of cooled syngas and reactive diluent fluid is reacted (26) with at least a portion of the reactive diluent fluid in the mixture to produce carbon monoxide-enriched and/or solid carbon depleted syngas which is fed into a secondary reformer unit (30) such as an enhanced heat transfer reformer in a heat exchange reformer process. An advantage of the invention is that problems with the mechanical integrity of the secondary unit arising from the high temperature of the syngas from the heat-generating unit are avoided.
