Abstract: The “Chimney Cap Link”, a device that when used will conserve heat in a dwelling. Installed between the stove pipe and the wall connection, it serves to enable one to, in only seconds, install or remove an insulated double wall cap. To be done regularly, without any leakage when wood stove or similar appliance is in use, and done cleanly with ease. Having a sliding lock seal, the prototype is framed using one half (½) inch steel rod and nuts. Rivets and sealant is used to join the one third (?) length parallel walls to the two primary pipes. Welding may be a better option or one piece pipe parts. The sliding seal reveals an open gap in the pipe, in order to insert or remove the insulated cap. Therefore, when used, the cap stops heat from escaping out the hole in the wall and prevents cold air from entering the dwelling.

By plugging that particular hole usually situated, leading directly out to a chimney bottom with an insulated double walled cap, the insulated cap stops heat from escaping out the hole in the wall and prevents cold air from entering the dwelling, when the heating unit is not in use. It is also effective during hot summer months, when air conditionners are in use, when used it caps hot air out and cold air in. Abstract: Apparatus and method for heating/cooling buildings and other facilities. An elongate pipe filled with water or other fluid medium forms a thermal gradient header having temperature zones that are progressively warmer towards one end and cooler towards the other. Multiple heating/cooling systems are connected to the header so as to draw fluid from zones that are closest in temperature to the optimal intake temperature of each system, and to discharge fluid back to the header at zones that are closest to the temperature to the optimal output temperature of each system, allowing each heating/cooling system to take advantage of the thermal output of other systems. The pipe forming the thermal gradient header may be routed back and forth in the facility to define a series of legs containing the different temperature zones. A boiler or other source may supply makeup heat to the thermal gradient header, and excess heat may be sent from the header to a ground field or other thermal reservoir for later use.

Abstract: A structure of a hot water pipe inserted with a heating wire installed in the floor of a room for heating. The structure of a hot water pipe inserted with a heating wire is provided with a low water level sensor for sensing the level of the heating water filling the inside of the hot water pipe. The structure is configured to prevent the pipe from being overheated or to malfunction by a lack of hot water. The low water level sensor is configured to stably operate so as to reduce the failing rate thereof, thus facilitating maintenance control. A low water level sensor provided in an auxiliary tank or one side of a hot water pipe senses the level of the hot water to prevent an accident caused by a lack of hot water. The low water level sensor operates using A/C current inputted through a control unit to a thermostat.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system for controlling temperature of an area via vents. In one embodiment, the areas/rooms of a building that are substantially isolated from one another may require or benefit from temperature that are different from other areas/rooms. Accordingly, the system includes an actuator that is coupleable to a valve structure of a vent. The fluid flow upstream of the vent may be conditioned by a climate control system, such as a furnace. The system of the present disclosure further includes a controller that is coupleable in communication with the actuator. The controller is configured to receive a vent input and send a command signal to the actuator based on the vent input. The vent input is a desired position of the valve structure of the vent and the controller is independent of the climate control system.

Abstract: An occupancy detector provides for an automated means of detecting the location of an occupant. Methods to determine with a high degree of certainty if a user is at (or occupying) a specific physical location or region are provided, using a wide variety of radio signaling technologies readily available on a wide scale due to the prevalence of wireless radio communications systems. The occupancy detector may be used to deliver a variety of services from targeted advertising in a supermarket to home automation systems. An example of a system for controlling the climate in a dwelling comprising multiple zones representing small areas such as for example rooms is described using the occupancy detection algorithms.
