Abstract: A computing device may identify multiple search results that have relatively high correlation with the keyword. The device may determine multiple additional search results based on the corresponding relationships among the keyword, the multiple additional search results, and transaction parameters. The device may list the search results related to the degree of transaction success on the top and the search results related to the correlation on the bottom. The transactional parameters may be determined based on a click index and a purchase index that are associated with the keyword and each search result of the multiple additional search results. The click index and the purchase index may be generated in a predetermined time period.

Abstract: Methods for Providing a Network Graphical Representation of Database Records. Database records are selected according to descriptive criteria, wherein each of the database records are members of a common record class. Attributes of the common record class and identified and network nodes are associated to instances of the attributes from the database records. The network nodes are connected with network links that designate network nodes having common instances of the attributes such that the network nodes have a one-to-many relationship with the network links. The identifying and connecting steps are iteratively executed while modifying the descriptive criteria to change the selected database records.

Abstract: A user is provided with both identification of individuals who have authored content responsive to a user's search query and the authored content itself. A user's social network is referenced to identify those individuals to whom the user maintains human connections. Content authored by those individuals is searched and individuals authoring such content are identified, together with the authored content. Additionally, content authored by individuals having unique experiences, perspective, or specialized information is searched to identify responsive content and individuals authoring such content are also identified. An initial identification of responsive individuals comprises a portion of such content and user action directed to an identification of an individual results in additional authored content being presented, thereby enabling the user to recognize the reason for which such an individual was identified in response to the user's search query.

Abstract: A sender-driven framework for enhancing the categorization of emails, wherein the sender is able to create or define rules that refine or augment those at the receiver's end. Particularly, the sender is enabled, in accordance with at least one embodiment of the present invention, to add information relating to the context of an email, which can help streamline categorization at the receiver's end.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to collect, analyze and report social media aggregated from a plurality of social media websites. Social media is retrieved from social media websites, analyzed for sentiment, and categorized by topic and user demographics. The data is then archived in a data warehouse and various interfaces are provided to query and generate reports on the archived data. In some embodiments, the system further recognizes alert conditions and sends alerts to interested users. In some embodiments, the system further recognizes situations where users can be influenced to view a company or its products in a more favorable light, and automatically posts responsive social media to one or more social media websites.

Abstract: A first cluster of web objects is identified from a click-through data structure. The click-through data structure can organize web objects into clusters based on query results of web objects selected by a user. Also, a second cluster of web objects can be identified from a metadata data structure. The metadata data structure can organize web objects into clusters based on metadata associated with the web objects. An output set of web objects is selected, in real time, from the identifier clusters.

Abstract: Analyzing log data, such as security log data and event data, is disclosed. Log data is received. Portions of the log data are clustered into clusters of similar data portions. A signature for each cluster is generated. Comparison of subsequent log data with the signature indicates whether the subsequent log data belongs in the cluster.

Abstract: A computer network-implemented method for displaying a tag cloud representing a data structure. The data structure includes data entities and representations of relationships between the data entities. The method enables one or more users to interact with the data structure, and via the data structure, to interact with one another. In an example embodiment, the method comprises, via a computer processor, populating a display of a user interface showing a tag cloud populated with images of data entities from the data structure, such images, and in response to user input to the interface, associating one or more visual properties of the user interface with one or more of said relationships between data entities in the data structure.

The apparatus for extracting a highlight section of music in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention includes a frame divider that divides an audio file into a plurality of frames having a predetermined sample length; an average energy signal calculator that calculates a signal representing the average magnitude of audio energy for a plurality of samples belonging to each frame for each frame of the plurality of frames; and a highlight section selector that extracts a low frequency signal from the signal representing the average audio energy magnitude for each frame and determines the highlight section from frame sections including maximum points of the low frequency signal.

Abstract: A method of communicating between a sender and a recipient via a personalized message is disclosed comprising: (a) identifying text, via the user interface of a communication device, of a desired lyric phrase from within a pre-existing audio recording; (b) extracting audio substantially associated with the desired lyric phrase from the pre-existing recording into a desired audio clip; (c) inputting personalized text via the user interface; (d) creating the personalized message with the sender identification, the personalized text and access to the desired audio clip; (e) sending an electronic message to the electronic address of the recipient, wherein the electronic message may be an SMS/EMS/MMS message, instant message or email message including a link to the personalized message or an EMS/MMS or email message including the personalized message. An associated method of earning money from the communication along with associated systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed herein for providing a custom search engine. In one aspect, a first search query is received from a requestor. First search results contain search result items that match the first search query are obtained. A least one sub-query is generated from the first search results. The generating is based on rules for a particular custom search engine. Second search results that match the sub-query are then obtained. A search result set is formed from a corpus that includes the first search results and the second search results. The generating of the search result set is based on the rules for the particular custom search engine. The search result set is provided to the requester. In one aspect an interface for designing a custom search engine is provided. The interface allows the designer to specify the layout of a search results page.

Abstract: A system and method for producing more relevant search results. When a user selects a search result from a search result listing, the amount of time that the user spends interacting with the item associated with the search result is tracked. Such information regarding interaction time is compiled and is used as a factor in assessing relevance of items in future searches.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing suggested completions to search results are disclosed which employ locating nodes in a stored ontology, wherein nodes consist of classes or instances of information, that correspond to the at least one search term, retrieving neighbors of located nodes in the stored ontology, and generating suggested completions in a format which separates homonymic terms. Methods and apparatus are disclosed for building ontologies and dynamically expanding ontologies.

Abstract: Linguistic analysis is used to identify queries from a plurality of users over a period of time that use different natural language formations to request similar information. Common intent categories are identified for the queries requesting similar information. Intent responses can then be provided that are associated with the identified intent categories. An intent management tool can be used for identifying new intent categories, identifying obsolete intent categories, or refining existing intent categories. The said intent categories are used in identifying ontologies associated with the intent categories to help in selecting concepts as ontology parameters.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for identifying a new set of media items in response to an input set (or “query set”) of media items and knowledge base metrics. The system uses a knowledge base consisting of a collection of mediasets. Various metrics among media items are considered by analyzing how the media items are grouped to form the mediasets in the knowledge base. Such association or “similarity” metrics are preferably stored in a matrix form that allows the system to efficiently identify a new set of media items that complements the input set of media items.

Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a novel way of searching and interacting with content available via a network, such as the Internet, and the World Wide Web. In some embodiments, systems and methods provide a semantically-oriented structure for organizing and accessing content items. The semantic organization can be derived by leveraging user interactions with the content items. The systems and methods leverage the semantics of the content items and to help the user find content items that are consistent with the purpose of the user's search. In addition, the embodiments provide a novel navigation paradigm of search results and content items so that the user can more intuitively and more efficiently get information form an information space.

For example, a method may include receiving web page identification data that is derived from user clickstream data, determining a URL associated with a domain based on the webpage identification information, and providing a measurement code verification web crawler with the URL and the depth to which to explore the domain for verifying measurement code placement with the web crawler.

Abstract: System and methods performed by a server for determining weighted influence in social networks, including: determining posts related to the topic; characterizing each post as one or more of: a reply post, a mention post, and a re-posting; generating a group of user accounts comprising any user account that authored a posting to which is replied, being mentioned in the mention post, that posted content being re-posted, and/or that authored one or more posts that are related to the topic; representing each of the user accounts as a node in the group in a connected graph and establishing an edge between one or more pair of nodes when there is a follower-followee relationship between the nodes; and for each edge between nodes, determining a weighting that is a function of one or more of: a number of mention posts, a number of reply posts, and a number of re-posts.

Abstract: Two parties have three distinct viewpoints of their relationship, from which assumptions emerge and working hypotheses about how to manage their relationship. The system, device, and method described herein include using a computer system for understanding face-to-face human interactions. The process includes using a mobile device connected to a server in a network for reviewing an audio-video recording of an interaction with one or more other persons, whereby one or more of the participants use the mobile device to describe their viewpoints of the interaction. The participants use the mobile device to receive immediate feedback for analysis, to compare viewpoints, to examine how the viewpoints are arrived, and to explore the viewpoints' consequences for the participants' relationship.

Abstract: A location query engine in a social networking system provides users with a subset of candidate locations based on location query received from a user. The social networking system identifies candidate locations from stored location data that has one or more attributes matching at least one attribute of the location query. The candidate locations are ranked based on social data determined from a user profile associated with the user, and the subset of candidate locations is selected from the ranking and provided to the user. Examples of social data used for ranking the candidate locations include locations associated with other users connected to the user, locations associated with objects connected to the user and locations previously associated with the user.

In one aspect, a method determines a first local document in a set of local documents for search results is eligible for a demotion operation. The determination is based at least in part on a proximity measure based on the location of the user device and a location specified for the first local document. In response to the determination, for each other local documents in the set of local documents, a proximity measure location of the user device and the location specified for the other local document is determined. The first local document is demoted in its ranking when at least one of the proximity measures indicates a respective other local document has a specified location that is within a threshold distance of the location of the user device.

Abstract: A system and method for providing location information for communications through an access network in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. The system and method involve receiving a communication including a message from an origination device. The communication includes access point information and the message includes an identifier of the communication. The access point information from the communication is extracted and the access point information or geographic data based on the access point information is stored in a database. The message including the identifier is sent to a destination device of the message. The storing of the access point information or the geographic data in the database enables the destination device to obtain the access point information or the geographic data using the identifier included in the message by querying the database.

Abstract: Various embodiments include at least one of systems, methods, and software to receive input configuring tests within a computing environment to expose users to standard application or website experiences or test experiences. In some embodiments, multiple tests may be configured to run orthogonally within user experiences without affecting the results of one another. Some such embodiments preserve the ability to execute certain tests in a non-orthogonal manner while other tests are allowed to execute orthogonally.

At least part of the resource is forwarded to the computing device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system which enables cooperative rich media content management, sharing, and publishing across a distributed set of Web sites, Web servers, and media servers based on control information in an online database. Media files are housed on any number of heterogeneous media repositories. The system of the present invention is used for managing, sharing, and publishing rich media content including video, images, animations, audio, etc. Authorized viewers access media files through dynamically generated content and media links embedded on Web sites. Content administrators publish media entries to any number of such distributed Web sites, and can set viewer permissions for individual video entries when published on specific Web sites. Content administrators can also dynamically establish media sharing and access relationships.

The validity interval specified for any child node generally is contained within the validity interval specified for that child node's parent node, such that the data structure includes no child nodes with a validity interval that falls outside of the validity interval of its parent node.

Abstract: Recommendation systems are widely used in Internet applications. In current recommendation systems, users only play a passive role and have limited control over the recommendation generation process. As a result, there is often considerable mismatch between the recommendations made by these systems and the actual user interests, which are fine-grained and constantly evolving. With a user-powered distributed recommendation architecture, individual users can flexibly define fine-grained communities of interest in a declarative fashion and obtain recommendations accurately tailored to their interests by aggregating opinions of users in such communities. By combining a progressive sampling technique with data perturbation methods, the recommendation system is both scalable and privacy-preserving.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for management of linked lists within a dynamic queue system. In a dynamic queue system where a central memory is shared amongst a set of queues, the method organizes the linked list structures of the queues. The linked list pointers of the queues are organized over a set of single port memories. Memory for the queue entries is allocated in an alternating fashion, which allows the method to provide per-cycle access to queues while reducing the footprint of the memory elements used for maintaining the linked list structures. The method disclosed reduces the overall memory requirements for the design and implementation of queue systems with multiple queues sharing a common pool of memory.

Abstract: A method includes performing a place and route operation using an electronic design automation tool to generate a preliminary layout for a photomask to be used to form a circuit pattern of a semiconductor device. The place and route operation is constrained by a plurality of single patterning spacer technique (SPST) routing rules. Dummy conductive fill patterns are emulated within the EDA tool using an RC extraction tool to predict locations and sizes of dummy conductive fill patterns to be added to the preliminary layout of the photomask. An RC timing analysis of the circuit pattern is performed within the EDA tool, based on the preliminary layout and the emulated dummy conductive fill patterns.

Abstract: An apparatus and system for evaluating winter transportation infrastructure maintenance operations includes a quantification component and a simulation component. Input data representative of collected winter transportation infrastructure maintenance data and observed transportation infrastructure data are modeled in a comprehensive data processing mechanism to measure and carry out effective and efficient winter maintenance planning and operations.

Abstract: Reservoir simulation is performed for giant reservoir models in a parallel computing platform composed of a number of processor nodes. Automatic precautionary checkpoints are made at regular time intervals when computational time exceeds a preset value. The simulator receives and reacts to signals from a real time monitoring interface tool which monitors the health of the system. Checkpoints are also made done if a system problem which may cause a simulation job to fail is projected. The simulation job is subsequently restarted to continue simulation from the last checkpoint. The monitoring and automatic recovery are done automatically without need for user intervention.

Abstract: A computer-implemented reservoir prediction system, method, and software are provided for modeling the behavior of non-Newtonian fluids in subterranean reservoirs while accounting for shear-rate dependent viscosity and permeability reduction with a skin zone characterized by a traditional skin factor and an apparent skin factor. A non-Newtonian fluid injection pressure or a non-Newtonian fluid injection rate is computed at steady-state responsive to reservoir data associated with a subterranean reservoir, injection data for a non-Newtonian fluid, and fluid data for the non-Newtonian fluid. The shear-rate dependent viscosity can further be applied to a well model in numerical reservoir simulation to improve the well model.

Abstract: A system and method for modeling a physical formation is provided. The method comprises a model retrieval module obtaining a reference model of the physical formation with at least one physical parameter, the reference model comprising reference blocks. A re-blocking module generates a synthesized model comprising one or more synthesized blocks. The re-blocking module then maps the reference blocks to the synthesized blocks and generates one or more fractional attributes for one or more of the synthesized blocks based on at least one physical parameter of the one or more corresponding reference blocks.
