Abstract: Virtual hot plug systems and methods are described for Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI), PCI Express (PCIe), and variants thereof. Specifically, the virtual hot plug systems and methods enable PCI related devices to support a hot plug configuration with such devices lacking hot plug controller hardware. The virtual hot plug systems and methods include intelligent polling logic for discovering the new PCI/PCIe devices with proper logic to access the hardware and avoid hanging or locking up the operating system.

Abstract: Provided is a game apparatus which stores, in an outbox for individual-transmission data, individual-transmission data the destinations of which are individually specified, and stores, in an outbox for universal-transmission data, universal-transmission data the destinations of which are all terminals. A plurality of pieces of data is stored in the outbox for individual-transmission data, and information regarding the destination thereof and the information regarding the source thereof are added to each piece of data. When the outbox for individual-transmission data is full, all data stored in the outbox is retrieved, and one frame which includes the plurality of pieces of data is generated and transmitted.

Abstract: In a method for enabling transmission of larger data quantities relatively rapidly in a data network, the sent data frames have a logical structure according to CAN Specification ISO 11898-1, the bit length in time within a data frame being able to assume at least two different values; for a first specifiable range within the data frame, the bit length in time being greater than, or equal to a specified minimum value of approximately one microsecond and in at least one second specifiable range within the data frame the bit length in time compared to the first range is at least halved, preferably less than halved; the change of the bit length in time being implemented by using at least two different scaling factors for setting the bus time unit relative to a shortest time unit or the oscillator clock pulse during running operation.

Abstract: Software deployment to server nodes within large-scale networked systems is provided using image-based deployment. A mostly immutable image is provided at a central service and transferred from the central service to the server nodes. The image includes a base image, which is immutable, and a delta image, which is writable and provides role-specific and/or node-specific state to the base portion. When a server node receives an image from the central server, the server node stores the image intact without installation. The server node then runs software directly from the stored image.

Abstract: By using embodiments of the present invention, a targeted advertisement, or other customized content, can be published to a consumer when visiting a website. The consumer is connected to a mobile broadband network and is authenticated and authorized to this broadband network. Further, the consumer is given an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the mobile broadband network and this IP address is used to identify the consumer when the targeted advertisement is determined according to a profile of the consumer. This is achieved according to embodiments by letting the publisher request a targeted advertisement for a consumer visiting a website of the publisher. The targeted advertisement is found by using the IP address allocated to the consumer device by the mobile broadband network, i.e. the consumer is identifiable by the IP address.

Abstract: Time-related properties may be modeled independent of a base object. Rather than storing time properties with the object, they may be stored independently. A given object may be stored once, even if it has a recurrent time property. The description of a “meeting,” for example, may be stored once. Each occurrence of that object over time may be stored in a “timeslot” (object <foo> occurs at time ‘t’ on day ‘d’). If it is a recurring property, recurrence information may be stored independently. “Exception” information may be stored independently as well.

Abstract: A packet processor has a packet memory manager configured to store a page walk link list, receive a descriptor and initiate a page walk through the page walk link list in response to the descriptor and without a prompt from transmit direct memory access circuitry. The packet memory manager is configured to receive an indicator of a single page packet and read a new packet in response to the indicator without waiting to obtain page state associated with the page of the single page packet.

Abstract: Network auditing system and method for monitoring or auditing at least one communications network. The network auditing system includes an acquisition device to acquire, for locations throughout the at least one communications network, data related to at least one of: service coverage for the at least one communications network; service quality for the at least one communications network; and service usage for the at least one communications network, and a plotter to identify on an audit map the data acquired for the locations.

Abstract: A method for execution on a computing device includes transmitting first identification information to a server processing circuit via the Internet. The server processing circuit identifies a plurality of geographically dispersed systems corresponding to the first identification information. Information including geographical coordinates and system status information is received for each system. A set of geographical boundary coordinates are determined. Moreover, a visible characteristic value for each system is determined based on the corresponding system status information. A map presentation function executed by a second processing circuit displays a map based on the geographic boundary coordinates, and displays a plurality of visible indicators on the map. Each of the plurality of visible indicators has a position on the map corresponding the geographical coordinates of a corresponding system.

Abstract: Systems and methods of configuring a computer network are provided. The network can include a first stage of M nodes and a second stage of N nodes. Each node in the first stage can form F communication links with nodes in the second stage and each node in the second stage can form S communication links with nodes in the first stage. Nodes in the first stage are connected to each other only through communication links connecting nodes in the first stage to nodes in the second stage. Communication links between the nodes can be assigned such that the minimum value of the throughput between any pair of nodes in the first stage is maximized.

Abstract: A novel eco-system is provided which first supplies a standardized template of one or more virtual machine images for software module providers/vendors. A plurality of modules executing on the virtual machine images is selected by a user to comprise a plurality of configurations. A suitable configuration may be determined according to a metric and the determined suitable configuration of software modules is subsequently used to build an end-to-end solution.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method performs, by at least a processor, a computer networking function as controlled, at least in part, by a configuration for a networking device. Source commands are received to establish the configuration, wherein the source commands are written in a source command language. The source commands are translated from the source command language to target commands written in a target command language, wherein the translation is based, at least in part, on a function to function translation model. The configuration is then established by executing at least the target commands.

In a first mode, a pattern selecting unit is configured such that it outputs the vector pattern during a period in which the gate signal is asserted and outputs a fixed output level during a period in which the gate signal is negated. In a second mode, the pattern selecting unit is configured such that it outputs the vector pattern during a period in which the gate signal is asserted and outputs the synchronization pattern during a period in which the gate signal is negated.

Abstract: During operation of a vending machine, visual images of the next product to be dispensed from product dispensing locations are obtained. Features of the visual images are compared to a data base of features to determine the identity of the next product to be dispensed from each of the dispensing locations. After a product has been dispensed from a dispensing location, a visual image is obtained of the next product at the dispensing location. Features of the visual image of the next product at the dispensing location are compared to a data base of features to determine the identity of the next product to be dispensed. A displayed price of a product is compared with product prices in the data base. If necessary, the displayed price is adjusted to agree with the data base.

Abstract: A method and device for multi-granularity parallel FFT butterfly computation. The method and device read data and twiddle factors for computation in one butterfly group from the input buffers and the twiddle factor buffer at a time, perform multi-stage butterfly computation in parallel using uniform butterfly representations, and write the results back to the input buffers. The method and device greatly reduce the frequency for accessing the memory, improve speed for butterfly computation, and reduce power consumption. The method and device achieve multi-granularity butterfly computation of various data formats in a parallel and efficient manner. The method and device can specify the parallel granularity and data format for butterfly computation according to particular applications, and are applicable to FFT butterfly computation of balanced and unbalanced groups.

Abstract: Embodiments related to calculating node centralities in large and complex networks and graphs. An aspect includes approximating a product of a matrix exponential and a random probe vector of an adjacency matrix, wherein the adjacency matrix represents a graph. A diagonal of the adjacency matrix is computed based on the product of the matrix exponential and the random probe vector. The node centralities are then calculated based on the computed diagonal until a designated number of central nodes has been detected according to embodiments.

At least one potential theme associated with the organizational site is determined, based on the analysis, and the at least one potential theme is presented to a user.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for serving a webpage based on a zoom level. The techniques include requesting, by a client device, contents of a webpage. The request may include indications of a zoom level and a viewable area of the webpage as shown on a display of the client device. A server system may determine that the zoom level indicated in the request is less than a threshold value and identify content items within the viewable area which meet predefined criteria for being considered expensive. Further, the server system may serve a modified webpage which includes replacement items in lieu of the expensive content items.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of annotating an electronic document may include receiving annotation information corresponding to a first electronic document file and creating annotation metadata that is associated with the annotation information. The method may further include storing the annotation information and associated annotation metadata in an annotation file that is separate from the first electronic document file, and anchoring the annotation information to a target electronic document file at an anchor location corresponding to the annotation metadata. The annotation metadata may be generated by assigning a target offset value to individual neighboring tokens defining an annotation neighborhood, wherein the target offset values correspond to positions of the neighboring tokens with respect to an annotation location within the first electronic document file.

A memory buffer can copy and store images of the presentation and convert the images into snapshot images. A transmitter can transmit the snapshot images to an external annotation device, and a receiver can receive annotation data of an annotation performed on the snapshot images at the external annotation device. The annotation can be encoded, in accordance with the annotation data, into the real-time transmission of the presentation to display the real-time transmission with the annotation.

In particular, from a document being a group of character strings, one or more partial string which is a common part of the plurality of character strings is extracted as an important phrase. When the important phrase does not exist, the processing is finished. When the important phrase exists, a representative character string of the document is extracted as a candidate character string, deleting the candidate character string is deleted from the document, and the important phrase is deleted from the candidate character string. When the number of the important phrase being deleted is one or more, the candidate character string is set as an important character string.

Some of the terms represent objects or concepts or semantic attributes; some other terms represent properties associated with the objects or concepts or attributes. The methods include obtaining a first group of text contents, specifying a target term or symbol, and identifying contextual attributes of the target term or symbol. The contextual attributes include grammatical and semantic attributes as well as positional and distance attributes. Association strength values are calculated for related terms or symbols based on the contextual attributes of the target term or symbol, and terms or symbols are selected to represent the properties of an object or concept or attribute.

The browser compatibility checking of the web page source document involves receiving a request to render a web page source document for compatibility testing with different web browsers. The web page source document is then distributed to multiple rendering applications on a rendering server, in which each of the rendering application is to render the web page source document for one of the web browsers. The web page source document is then rendered at each of the rendering applications to generate rendered web page images.

Abstract: Architecture that detects and corrects writing errors in a human language based on the utilization of three different stages: error detection, correction candidate generation, and correction candidate ranking. The architecture is a generic framework for generating fluent alternatives to non-grammatical word sequences in a written sample. Error detection is addressed by a suite of language model related scores and other scores such as parse scores that can identify a particularly unlikely sequence of words. Correction candidate generation is addressed by a lookup in a very large corpus of “correct” English that looks for alternative arrangements of the same or similar words or subsequences of these words in the same context. Correction candidate ranking is addressed by a language model ranker.

Abstract: A set of language tags in a backend application can be passed to a frontend application in the form of a language selection tool. The disclosure creates a mapping between the frontend and backend application of at least one non-default language descriptor string onto a language tag of the backend application. The frontend language selection tool then displays to the user the non-default language descriptor string. The use of non-default language descriptor strings clarifies to the user otherwise ambiguous language identifiers.

The auto-suggest dictionary data may be transmitted to a remote device by the server for use in language translation. The auto-suggest dictionary data may be transferred as part of a package which includes content to be translated, translation meta-data, and various other data. The auto-suggest dictionary data may be generated at a first computing device, periodically or in response to an event, from translation data stored in memory. The auto-suggest dictionary may be transferred to a remote device along with content to be translated and other data, as part of a package, for use in translation of the content at the remote device.

Abstract: A requirements testing system facilitates the review and analysis of requirement statements for software applications. The requirements testing system automatically generates test artifacts from the requirement statements, including test scenarios, test conditions, test hints, and expected results. These test artifacts characterize the requirements statements to provide valuable analysis information that aids understanding what the intentions of the requirement statements are. The automation of the generation of these test artifacts produces numerous benefits, including fewer errors, objectivity, and no dependency on the skills and experience of a creator.

Abstract: Systems and methods of serving a content item to a user in a specific language are provided. An electronic document can be provided to a computing device over a network. A request to translate the electronic document from a first language to a second language can be received from the computing device. A language parameter for the computing device can be stored based on the request to translate the electronic document. A request for a content item to be provided to the computing device can be received. A content item can be selected from a content item database based on the stored language parameter and a geographic parameter indicating the content item is relevant to a geographic area local to the computing device. The content item can be provided to the computing device over the network.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique can include receiving, at a server, labeled training data including a plurality of groups of words, each group of words having a predicate word, each word having generic word embeddings. The technique can include extracting, at the server, the plurality of groups of words in a syntactic context of their predicate words. The technique can include concatenating, at the server, the generic word embeddings to create a high dimensional vector space representing features for each word. The technique can include obtaining, at the server, a model having a learned mapping from the high dimensional vector space to a low dimensional vector space and learned embeddings for each possible semantic frame in the low dimensional vector space. The technique can also include outputting, by the server, the model for storage, the model being configured to identify a specific semantic frame for an input.

Abstract: A method for optimizing a multi-language user interface layout across languages via reverse pseudo-translation using an integrated development environment is provided. The method may include selecting at least one user interface page from a group of user interface pages in a first language for pseudo-translation. The method may include selecting at least one target language from a group of target languages in which to pseudo-translate the at least one user interface page. The method may include specifying at least one layout requirement for formatting the selected user interface pages. The method may include performing pseudo-translation of the at least one user interface page. The method may include modifying, automatically, the at least one pseudo-translated user interface page through application of a merge algorithm according to the at least one specified layout requirement. The method may include implementing a reverse pseudo-translation of the at least one modified pseudo-translated user interface page.

For a word combination, appropriate local or network accessible dictionaries are consulted. The disclosed method provides a translation in grammatical agreement in accordance with grammatical rules of the output language in consideration of the context of the text.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique is presented. The technique can include receiving, at a computing device comprising one or more processors, a first input from a user, the first input including one or more first characters in a first language. The technique can provide for suggestion of potential transliterations to a second language of potential words beginning with the one or more first characters. The technique can present the potential transliterations in either an off-the-spot input configuration or an inline input configuration. The user can then select one of the potential transliterations. The technique can also provide the one or more first characters as an additional or partial word as a potential selection for the user. In this manner, the user can also select the exact one or more first characters that were input to the computing device.
