Abstract: A continuously variable transmission (CVT) includes an input arrangement associated with an input shaft and an output arrangement associated with an output shaft. An input sprocket and an output sprocket are connected via a chain. An input cone member is connected to the input shaft, disposed within a central opening of the input sprocket, and frictionally engages an inner periphery of the input sprocket such that rotation of the input cone causes the input sprocket to rotate. An output cone member is connected to the output shaft, disposed within a central opening of the output sprocket, and frictionally engages an inner periphery of the output sprocket such that rotation of the output sprocket causes rotation of the output cone member.

Abstract: A wave generator of a strain wave gearing has a rigid plug and a needle roller bearing mounted on the plug external peripheral surface. The plug external peripheral surface has a retainer engaging part for engaging with a retainer that would move in an axis line direction and for restricting the movement thereof along the axis line direction. The retainer has an outer ring engaging part for engaging with an outer ring that would move in the axis line direction and for restricting the movement thereof along the axis line direction. The movements of the retainer and the outer ring can be restricted without providing a separate member. A wave generator of a strain way gearing can be realized, which is provided with a roller bearing capable of restricting the movement of the outer ring with a simple structure.

Abstract: Provided is a fiber reinforced resin gear whose durability in use under a high temperature is enhanced. A fiber reinforced resin gear is formed by injecting a resin material containing glass wool into the inside of a cavity of a mold. A fiber diameter of the glass wool is scattered in a wide range of 0.1 to 15 ?m, and is distributed such that a most frequent value of the fiber diameter appears within a range of 2 to 5 ?m, and an average fiber diameter of the glass wool falls within a range of 3 to 5 ?m. The fiber reinforced resin gear according to the present invention can enhance durability and abrasion resistance under a high temperature compared to a conventional fiber reinforced resin gear.
