Abstract: A paper shredder cutting assembly having an arbor, spaced-apart cutting blades on the arbor, a rigid frame set apart from and parallel to the arbor, and braces coupling the arbor to the frame. Each resilient brace is a spacer between a pair of spaced-apart cutting blades. The braces support arbor and cutting blades. The rigid frame and the braces cooperate to strengthen, and to reduce translational motion of the arbor, while allowing rotation of the arbor. Each brace has a brace body, a brace tang extending therefrom, and a brace tab extending perpendicularly from the brace tang. Each brace tab is aligned with another along an edge of the rigid frame, the brace bodies are spacers between the cutting blades, and the brace tabs impair translational motion of the brace bodies. A paper shredder with a motor, gearing, and counterposing cutting assemblies has motion-limited resilient spacers adjacent to cutting blades.

Abstract: A method comprises: dissolving an aromatic side chain polymer in a terpene, terpenoid, or aromatic solvent; dissolving an inorganic salt in a polar organic solvent; mixing the salt solution and the polymer solution; and using a predominantly terpene, terpenoid, or aromatic solvent phase of the mixture as electrospinning fluid. The fluid is electrospun from spinning tip(s) onto a target substrate. The inorganic salt and the polar organic solvent are chosen so as not to cause substantial precipitation of the polymer upon mixing with the polymer solution. The terpene, terpenoid, or aromatic solvent can comprises D-limonene, the aromatic side chain polymer can comprise polystyrene, the polar organic solvent can comprise dimethyl formamide, and the inorganic salt can comprise LiCl, AgNO3, CuCl2, or FeCl3. The method can further comprise electrospinning the fluid with the fluid and spinning tips electrically isolated from a voltage source that drives the electrospinning.

Abstract: A dirt sifting device for placement over a wheelbarrow, comprising a frame and a filter screen disposed over the frame. In an embodiment of the present invention, the dirt sifting device comprises a first frame connected by a hinge to a second frame. The hinge allows the first frame to rotate relative to the second frame and is adapted to maintain the frames at any of a variety of angles. A filter screen is disposed over each of the first and second frames. The frames define the perimeter of the filter screens. The frames may be rotated towards one another such that the frames overlap in a closed configuration convenient for storage. Alternatively, the frames may be rotated away from one another and the device can then be placed over a wheelbarrow for dirt sifting. Overall, the device serves as a means for separating dirt from unwanted materials.

In the lower spin chuck, a substrate holder sucks a center portion of a lower surface of a substrate, so that the substrate is held. In this state, a peripheral portion of the lower surface of the substrate rotated by a spin motor is cleaned by a brush of a first back surface cleaning mechanism. In the upper spin chuck, a plurality of chuck pins abut against an outer peripheral end of the substrate, so that the substrate is held. In this state, a region inward of the peripheral portion of the lower surface of the substrate rotated by the spin motor is cleaned by a brush of a second back surface cleaning mechanism. Receiving and transferring of the substrate are performed by a receiving transferring mechanism between the upper and the lower spin chucks.
