Publication number: 20160236349Abstract: A control method, and a robot controller implementing the method, is provided that adapts human motions to floating-base humanoid robots with time warping techniques. The method of modifying a set of reference motions modifies the timeline of a reference motion so as to speed up or slow down one or more of the motions or motion segments. Through the use of time warping, the velocity and acceleration profiles of the motion are changed to turn an infeasible motion into a feasible one. The optimal time warping is obtained through a generalized motion feasibility index that quantifies the feasibility of a motion considering the friction constraint as well as the center-of-pressure (CoP) constraint. Due to the use of the motion feasibility index, the proposed motion adaptation method taught herein can be applied to motions on arbitrary terrains or with any number of links in contact with the environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2015Publication date: August 18, 2016Inventors: KATSU YAMANE, YU ZHENG

Publication number: 20160236371Abstract: The present invention relates to an external apparatus that attaches to, or is mounted adjacent to, a woodturning lathe in order to hold and control the motion of cutting tools used for shaping and hollowing vessels and bowls mounted on the lathe. Wood lathes have existed for over two thousand years and most frequently have relied upon handheld tools to accomplish the shaping and hollowing of wood. This approach is adequate for smaller projects involving relatively uniform woods. However, for larger projects utilizing more interesting woods (burls, crotches, roots and stumps) that may include knots, voids, inclusions, debris, metal objects, and complex grain structures, a more robust method for holding and controlling the cutting tools is required. The washed film is ground into smaller pieces and additional washing of the ground film in a rotating friction washer and a sink float tank occurs wherein additional contaminants are removed from the film. The ground film is then dried and compacted without addition of water into granulated objects of near-virgin quality blown film product.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2016Publication date: August 18, 2016Applicant: Wisconsin Film & Bag, Inc.Inventors: Robert Francis Kulesa, James J. Publication number: 20160236378Abstract: A method for recycling plastic and manufacturing filler involves collecting discarded plastic articles, and grinding/shredding the articles up together without substantive sorting out of the articles by plastic type, color, etc. The plastic articles are shredded into shredded plastic particles which are used as filler for various consumer products, such as weight training equipment and cushions. For products requiring additional weight, higher-density shredded recycled plastic particles are added to the filler for increased weight. For products requiring less weight and/or buoyancy, lower-density recycled plastic particles and/or foam is added to the filler for decreased weight/density. Weight training bags, pet training devices, cushions pillows, flotation devices, ski racks, and other products may be formed using the filler.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2016Publication date: August 18, 2016Inventor: Charles Croughwell

Publication number: 20160236384Abstract: A method of manufacturing a multi-colored hand tool grip includes a step of forming a grip, a step of forming a lid and a step of completing a finished product. In the step of forming a lid, replaceable submodules are employed to form the lid, able to lower cost of mold making. In the step of completing a finished product, after the grip and the lid are combined together and received in the mold cavity of a third mold set, raw material of a holding portion is poured into the mold cavity to form a different-colored holding portion. By so designing, the lid and the holding portion of different colors can be formed on the grip to let patterns presented more clearly, thus forming a multi-colored hand tool grip.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2015Publication date: August 18, 2016Inventor: Hsiu-Man YU CHEN
