Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for estimating a user's heart rate using a PG signal are presented. In some implementations, the heart rate is estimated by computing a frequency-domain PG, identifying one or more features in the frequency-domain PG, selecting qualified features from the one or more features, and constructing one or more traces. In some implementations, an accelerometer signal can be used for motion cancellation to eliminate traces that are motion artifacts.

Abstract: A flexible conductive track arrangement has a pre-flexing condition in which the arrangement is generally planar. Conductive tracks are formed from a metal layer and they are covered above and below by insulator layers. The elongate conductive tracks are generally planar but locally corrugated perpendicularly to the general plane. This enables improved binding performance, for example to form tight windings using the conductive tracks.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing enhanced motion tracking using a transportable inertial sensor. Configurations disclosed herein utilize a first inertial sensor mounted to a device to determine a frame of reference, and a second inertial sensor mounted to an object to determine movement of the object within the frame of reference. Configurations disclosed herein determine if the frame of reference is established. If it is determined that the frame of reference is established, the first inertial sensor and the second inertial sensor are used to detect movement of the object within the frame of reference.

Abstract: The invention provides a sensor for measuring both impedance and ECG waveforms that is configured to be worn around a patient's neck. The sensor features 1) an ECG system that includes an analog ECG circuit, in electrical contact with at least two ECG electrodes, that generates an analog ECG waveform; and 2) an impedance system that includes an analog impedance circuit, in electrical contact with at least two (and typically four) impedance electrodes, that generates an analog impedance waveform. Also included in the neck-worn system are a digital processing system featuring a microprocessor, and an analog-to-digital converter. During a measurement, the digital processing system receives and processes the analog ECG and impedance waveforms to measure physiological information from the patient. Finally, a cable that drapes around the patient's neck connects the ECG system, impedance system, and digital processing system.

Abstract: The present invention provides systems, methods, devices and kits for assessing the level of pulmonary disease in individual lung compartments. A lung compartment comprises a subportion of a lung, such as a lobe, a segment or a subsegment, for example. By measuring individual lung compartments, the level of disease of the pulmonary system may be more precisely defined by determining values of disease parameters reflective of individual subportions or compartments of a lung. Likewise, compartments may be separately imaged to provide further measurement information. Once individual compartments are characterized, they may be compared and ranked based on a number of variables reflecting, for example, level of disease or need for treatment. Such comparison may be aided by simultaneous display of such variables or images on a visual display. Further, the same tests may be performed on the lung as a whole or on both lungs and to determine the affect of the diseased lung compartments on the overall lung performance.

Abstract: An analysis process device processing a first physiological signal to generate an analysis result and including a sensing unit, a separation unit, a comparing unit, and a reconstruction unit is provided. The sensing unit detects the first physiological signal to generate a sensing signal. The separation unit separates the sensing signal to generate a plurality of intrinsic characteristic signals. The comparing unit compares each of the intrinsic characteristic signals with a reference signal and generates a plurality of comparing results. The reconstruction unit divides the intrinsic characteristic signals into a first group and a second group according to the comparing results and generates the analysis result according to the intrinsic characteristic signals of the first group.

Abstract: The present application describes techniques to filter signals contaminated with blunt noise. Calculated filter coefficients may be applied to signals to generate filtered output signals without the blunt noise. Sets of filter coefficients may be calculated utilizing an ?-tube filter process in conjunction with an autoregressive exogenous (ARX) model. Sets of filter coefficients may be calculated in accordance with a constrained optimization algorithm using data indicative of a source of the blunt noise. When the blunt noise is modeled in accordance with the ARX model, filtered output signals are generated having amplitudes constrained to a selected Epsilon value, which may be the amplitude of a primary component of the unfiltered signal. A set of filter coefficients may be calculated by determining, from the set of filter coefficients that satisfy the constrained optimization algorithm, a solution that produces a filtered output signal having the most time-invariant frequency composition.

Abstract: An effective meal average (EMA) value is presented, followed by two or more of the individual values that make up the EMA, to provide improved feedback data for clinical decisions by patients who need to alter their dose of insulin. The EMA can comprise a measure of the variability of its constituent values, encompass values that occur at specified times such as 1 hour before and after a specified meal time, and be calculated over a limited number of days previous to the calculation (e.g., 3 days) and have a minimum number of values that must be obtained within the time and date ranges. An algorithm can exclude any given reading from the average (e.g., post-prandial or control solution readings). Patients can use 1 to 8 EMA on any given date range (e.g., preferably 4, that is, breakfast, lunch, supper and bedtime snack).

Specifically, the radiography device control unit controls tomosynthesis imaging (120) such that tomosynthesis imaging is performed under first conditions (108) of low resolution and a narrow incident angle range in a case in which a mutation site suspected as a lesion is not detected and tomosynthesis imaging is performed under second conditions (112, 116, and 118) which are different from the first conditions in at least one of the resolution or the incident angle range in a case in which the mutation site suspected as a lesion is detected.
