  • Patent number: 9453698
Abstract: An archery bow is provided having a cam assembly including a first bowstring track and a second bowstring track laterally separated by a distance, and adapted to guide different portions of a bowstring. The bowstring tracks can be spaced from one another along an axis of rotation of the cam assembly so that the loads exerted by the bowstring portions are substantially balanced. Accordingly, the loads are inhibited from urging the cam to lean out of vertical alignment and/or twisting the limb. The cam assembly can include a power cable track which guides a cable centered on the axis of rotation, and which is within a central longitudinal limb plane. Large, dynamic loads exerted by the power cable through the cam assembly can be centered to inhibit cam lean and limb torque. A related method of inhibiting limb twist, and a split bowstring also are provided.

  • Patent number: 9453716
Abstract: Provided are a method for measuring tool dimensions and a measurement device, whereby if a machine tool (10) cannot fit the overall outline of a tool (20) inside the field of vision (V) for an image from an imaging device (33), the field of vision (V) of the imaging device (33) is moved by relatively moving the imaging device (33) and the tool (20). In addition, the imaging device (33) can follow the outline (54) of the tool (20) by moving the field of vision (V), because the movement direction (53) for the field of vision (V) is determined on the basis of the partial outline (51) specified based on image data. In this way, even when measuring dimensions for a tool (20) with a larger diameter than the field of vision (V) of the imaging device (33), a partial outline (51) of a desired range, for example, is specified. The laser transmitter projects a beam of laser light, and receives laser light reflected from the rod. The laser transmitter includes a first wireless communication unit, and a transmitter control. The transmitter control is responsive to the first wireless communication unit. The remote control device includes a second wireless communication unit that communicates wirelessly with to the laser transmitter to cause the laser transmitter to project the beam of laser light toward a position at the construction site, and signals the user of the layout equipment when the rod has been placed at the position.

  • Patent number: 9453734
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for displaying a portion of a map on a mobile device of a user while the user is traveling along a route. The mobile device can use a selected route and a current location of the device to load map tiles for parts of the map that are upcoming along the route. In this manner, the user can have quick access to the portions of the map that the user likely will want to view. For example, the map tiles can be loaded for the next 50 Km, and then when the stored tiles reaches only 25 Km ahead, another 25 Km of tiles can be retrieved. The amount of tiles loaded (e.g., minimum and maximum amounts) can vary based on a variety of factors, such as network state, distance traveled along the route, and whether the mobile device is charging.

  • Patent number: 9453735
Abstract: A system and method for determining dynamically changing distributions of vehicles in a vehicle system are disclosed. The system and method determine handling parameters of the vehicle system. The handling parameters are determined for different distributions of the vehicles among different groups at different potential change points along a route. The system and method also determine whether to change the distributions at potential change points based on the handling parameters. Based on determining that the distributions are to change, a selected sequence of changes to the distributions is determined at one or more of the potential change points along the route. Change indices are generated based on the selected sequence. The change indices designate times and/or the one or more potential change points at which the distributions changes. The vehicles included in a common group have common designated operational settings while the vehicles are in the common group.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for transmitting traffic congestion routing data to a community of global positioning system (GPS) devices. Community routing logic of a community routing system (CRS) receives a route request containing the current location and desired destination of a GPS device. The CRS may use the community routing logic to determine a path that the user of the GPS device should travel on to best minimize driving time and traffic conditions for a community of users of the CRS. The CRS considers road capacity, current traffic conditions, and historical traffic data for roads and alternate roads along a preferred route. The CRS also considers routes previously taken by the GPS device. Additionally, the CRS may receive information about routes taken by other GPS devices to further improve future routes of the community of GPS devices.
