Abstract: A pressure sensor includes a base, a plurality of magneto-dependent sensors coupled to a face of the base, a deformable layer and a magnetic layer. The deformable layer is coupled to the plurality of magneto-dependent sensors. The magnetic layer is coupled to the deformable layer. The magnetic layer produces a magnetic field. The deformable layer and the plurality of magneto-dependent sensors are located in the magnetic field. The magnetic layer presses the deformable layer to deform when a pressure is exerted to the magnetic layer. Each of the plurality of magneto-dependent sensors produces an electric signal. The electric signals produced by the plurality of magneto-dependent sensors are in direct proportion to value of the pressure exerted to positions of the magnetic layer which are corresponding to the plurality of magneto-dependent sensors. A mechanical arm and a robot with the pressure sensor are also provided.

Abstract: A hard mask film 2 provided on substrate 1 is formed by tin-containing chromium-containing material. In the chromium-containing material including tin, which forms the hard mask film 2, the etching resistance to fluorine-containing dry etching is equal to or higher than the etching resistance of the tin-free chromium-containing material, and it shows a significantly high etching rate as compared with a chromium-containing material free of tin under conditions for chlorine-containing dry etching. As a result, the time for chlorine-containing dry etching is shortened, and damage to a resist pattern is reduced. Thus, high-precision pattern transfer can be performed. The present invention provides a novel technique for increasing etching process-ability by increasing a dry-etching rate of a hard mask film made of a chromium-containing material while assuring a hard mask function of the hard mask film.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a golf ball layer formed from an injection molding process using a retractable pin injection mold. The injection molding process includes retracting pins beyond the molding surface of the mold at the end of the injection cycle to form surface protrusions at the various pin locations and removing the protrusions in a post molding process. The injection molding process of the present invention results in golf ball layers having reduced molded in stresses and defects and enhanced durability.

Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide an injection molding die that improves the strength of adhesion between an insert and a plastic in an insert molded article while suppressing fluctuations in the strength of adhesion. An injection molding die is used to manufacture an insert molded article by placing an insert 12 with a thermoset resin adhesive in the molding die and injecting a molten plastic material P from a gate G into a cavity C. The gate G is arranged at a position separated by 0.2 mm or more in an out-of-plane direction from a surface A1 of the adhesive applied to the joining surface of the insert 12. During injection molding, the wall surface shear stress generated on the adhesive applied to the joining surface of the insert 12 relative to the plastic near the gate G becomes small. The adhesive is not swept away by the high-pressure molten plastic material P without having to bring the adhesive applied to the joining surface A of the insert 12 into the semi-cured state.

Abstract: A system and method of extruding self-clumping granular absorbent having cold water soluble amylopectin starch binder formed from starch-containing admixture sufficient for extruded sorbent pellets to produce flowable binder flowing between pellets clumping them together producing clumps of pellets that become hard when substantially dry that have a crush strength of at least 25 PSI and clump retention of at least 80% and preferably at least 90%. As a result, dried pellet clumps are easy to pick up leaving behind unspent pellets for continued sorbent use. A pellet quenching apparatus and method rapidly cools and dries pellets before leaving the extruder preventing loss of cold water soluble starch and binder, preventing pellet shrinkage, and preventing pellet densification. An air conveyor transporting quenched pellets removed from the extruder further cools and dries the pellets producing pellets ready for sorbent use.
