Abstract: A gas pressure reducer (100) comprises a mobile element (2) arranged for driving a pressure regulating valve (5) according to a pressure force, a biasing element (3) for pushing the mobile element toward a rest position, and an electrically-powered master system which acts on the biasing element for varying a return force of said biasing element. The master system allows varying a reference pressure value for the regulation of the pressure existing at a low pressure gas outlet (1 LP). When the master system is no longer electrically supplied, the mobile element (2) is driven by the pressure force with respect to a last value of the return force existing just before electrical supply of said master system has stopped.

Abstract: A stand-on land vehicle, for simulating snow skiing, features a side-by-side pair of platforms, coupled and supported (a) at the rear by an angled tilt-turn mount under each, integrated with a shared axle assembly fitted at its ends with a pair of rear wheels, located at opposite sides of the vehicle, and (b) at the front by a tilt-turn mount system including a strut/spacer framework attached to a pair of user handling bars, and to at least one front wheel, typically a roller, via an associated inclined swivel-caster type mount assembly. This novel combination accomplishes dual-platform tilt-turning in response to the user's body movements that simulates the superior snow-skiing technique of skewing the skis longitudinally for banked turns as in zig-zagging downhill.

Abstract: Generally, described are methods, apparatuses and systems for a recommendation engine which determines a recommendation based upon a terrestrial parameter and an overall factor unrelated to the terrestrial parameter. The recommendation engine may receive as inputs: (1) some data relating to the terrestrial parameter and (2) some data relating to user operation of a mechanical device. An overall factor may be calculated or obtained, at least in part, from the data relating to user operation of the mechanical device. And based upon the data relating to the terrestrial parameter and the overall factor, a recommendation may be determined and transmitted. In one embodiment, as part of the transmission process, the recommendation may be displayed to a user requesting the recommendation.

Abstract: A golf training apparatus which provides technical information not inclusive of proper stance in relationship to the ball placement correcting poor foot alignment, speed and angle of proper golf club swing, proper foot placement, proper stance, club control, and targeted site alignment information to the golfer. The apparatus provides a straight line of site to the intended target to be hit by the golf ball projectile and simultaneously indicates proper position of the ball in relationship to the target to be hit, the golfer's feet and stance. Proper ball placement is determined by intersecting laser beams. Embodiments of the invention will determine the proper swing, distance between the foot and the rail and the ball and the rail by ultrasonic transducers, ultrasonic sensors, and accelerometers. The information of proper foot placement, stance, and swing will be communicated to the golfer by gradient colored light indicators, and digital information display.

Abstract: A night golfing system provides an EL wire for outlining features of a golf course, to facilitate night golfing. The system employs a specific color-coding scheme as follows: Green—surrounds the surface of the green; Yellow—surrounds the surface of the bunker; Blue—surrounds or laid out to the side of the water hazard; Red—surrounds or laid out to the side of the hazard line; White—used to outline the walking/riding path and the Tee Box. An LED golf ball can be used with the invention. A specific color coding system is contemplated. Also, in a separate embodiment, LED strips can be used instead of EL wire.

Abstract: A method for displaying representations of facial expressions on devices includes receiving, by a processor on a device, data from a sensor coupled to the device. The method includes identifying, by the processor, responsive to the received data, a level of progress that a user of the device made towards a goal. The method includes selecting, by the processor, responsive to the identification, an icon representing a facial expression. The method includes modifying, by the processor, a level of power for each of a plurality of light indicators embedded in the device to display the icon.

Abstract: A mouth guard that can be customized in the field without needing to boil the mouth guard is disclosed. The mouth guard comprises a facial and lingual walls mounted on a thin flexible tray, such as a fabric mesh. Stops are positioned on the tray to space the user's teeth away from the tray. A layer of uncured elastomeric impression material is applied to the tray and the user bites down on the mouth guard to custom fit the mouth guard to the shape of the user's upper and lower teeth. The facial wall can be made of separate spaced-apart walls that can also be filled with impression or impact absorbing material.

Abstract: A roller apparatus integrated with one or more inner side protective landings of a roller hockey goalie's leg protective member. The apparatus may include a first planar layer having a first plurality of openings arranged in a planar array, a second planar layer having a second plurality of openings aligned with the first plurality of openings of the first layer; and a plurality of roller bearings shaped and sized for positioning in the aligned first plurality of openings and second plurality of openings, with outer surfaces of the roller bearings projecting outwardly from the first plurality of openings of the first planar layer of the roller assembly to enable rolling movement of the roller assembly when engaged in contact with a dry surface. Also described are methods of configuring a roller assembly, such as the aforementioned roller apparatus.

Abstract: An apparatus for protecting against injuries to the head and neck includes a head harness; a body anchor component; and tensioners extending between and interconnecting the head harness and the body anchor component. The tensioners limit the range of movement of the head. Each tensioner is a composite band or strap having an elastic member and an inelastic member. An additional linking member in the connection between the tensioner and the body anchor component preferably has viscoelastic properties and cushions or dampens rapid acceleration of the tensioners during an impact to the head, such as when a tackle is made in football. The additional linking member preferably is a solid material with viscoelastic characteristics. In some embodiments, the apparatus is configured to be worn under a football helmet and shoulder pads.
