Abstract: A motor control and regulating device has a sensor system for detection of forces acting sideways on a skateboard or longboard relative to the travel direction, sensor systems for control of the rpm of an electric motor, measurement of rpm and direction of rotation of rollers of the skateboard or longboard, and detection of the turning angle of the skateboard or longboard relative to the travel direction. There is an electronic data processor with sin integrated controller, which controls the rpm and direction of rotation by processing the signals received by the sensor systems. Forces acting sideways on the skateboard or longboard are deflected into a lateral thrust force. Without an external controller, the direction of rotation of the electric motor is reversed approximately in real time when the skateboard exceeds an defined angle so it is no longer in a rolling mode but instead in a sliding mode.

Abstract: An electric vehicle may comprise a board including deck portions each configured to receive a foot of a rider, and a wheel assembly disposed between the deck portions. A motor assembly may be mounted to the board and configured to propel the electric vehicle using the wheel assembly. At least one orientation sensor may be configured to measure orientation information of the board, and at least one pressure-sensing transducer may be configured to determine rider presence information. A motor controller may be configured to receive the orientation information and the rider presence information, and to cause the motor assembly to propel the electric vehicle based on the orientation and presence information.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a court marking switching system, including: singles and doubles markings, wherein the singles and doubles markings present white color when they are not lit up, and present a same color with surrounding floor when they are lit up; a switching element which lights up the singles markings and turns off the doubles markings when receiving a doubles command and lights up the doubles markings and turns off the singles markings when receiving a singles command. During the doubles match, only the singles markings are lit up, the lit singles markings present a same color with that of the surrounding floor and are not easy to be observed, while the doubles markings which are not lit up present a white color, such that only the white doubles markings may be observed by a user.

Abstract: A portable ice skating rink structure kit that includes a liner, sidewall, a wicket or slotted anchor block for supporting the sidewall, and sidewall connectors and liner clips. The skating rink may be used on hard or soft surfaces. The sidewall is supported by wickets for use with soft surfaces, such as ground, and slotted anchor blocks for use with hard surfaces, such as pavement. The slotted blocks may have slots of different depths to compensate for uneven ground underneath the skating surface and maintain a sidewall of even height. Once the sidewall is supported, a liner is draped over the playing surface and the sidewalls create a pool of water. The liner may be held in place with liner clips and staples. When temperatures fall below freezing, a smooth sheet of surface ice is created.

Abstract: Generally described, aspects of the disclosed subject matter are directed to systems and methods for controlling a robot using physical tiles embodied as an interactive robotic game. In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, an interactive game system is provided. The interactive game system generally includes an interlocking game tile having a body, an interlocking component, an automatic data capture device configured for identification of a target position, and a path disposed on the top surface of the tile. The tile provides a surface and route for travel of a programmable robotic device having a body, a microprocessor, a path sensor, and an automatic data capture device reader. The programmable robotic device generally travels along the path of the game tiles to the target position where it interrogates the automatic data capture device of the game tile and performs actions based on the information received.

In various embodiments, a pre-activation printing process applies an active thermal layer and other coatings on a ticket substrate, but excludes any game indicia or security codes. An activator printer thermally applies game indicia and/or security code(s) at a retail location according to ticket selections made by a user and further according to data generated via a central host, wherein the activator printer applies the indicia and code(s) at least partially under one or more security coatings on the ticket substrate, where the coatings had been applied during the pre-activation process.

Abstract: An electronic tag game includes a system having magnetic field sensors that are to be worn by a player of the electronic tag game. The magnetic field sensors are configured to detect a change in the local magnetic field. The magnetic field sensors may be in operable communication with one another and are configured to send a signal reporting a change in the local magnetic field to a controller which may be communication with electronic device such as a smart phone or the like. The local magnetic field may be altered by one or more devices configured for creating a change in the local magnetic field. For example a spherical projectile or hand-held object may be provided and include a magnet that is configured to alter the magnetic field around the magnetic field sensors when a player wearing the magnetic field sensor is struck with the projectile.

The upstream stage adjusts the speed at which the upstream stage operates and queues data to approximate the speed at which the bottleneck stage is operating and queuing data.

Abstract: A multi-instance, multi-user animation platform includes a plurality of modeled parallel dimensions in a computer memory. Each of the parallel dimensions may be an independent model of a physical, three-dimensional space having corresponding features such that the parallel dimensions are recognizable as counterparts to each other. Avatars are located within corresponding ones of the parallel dimensions so as to prevent over-population of any one of the parallel dimensions by avatars. Avatars are animated within different ones of the parallel dimensions using input from respective users to provide virtual-reality data. A common space is modeled in the computer memory configured in relation to the plurality of parallel instances so that an object located inside the common space is visible from viewpoints located inside each of the plurality of parallel instances. Remote clients may output an animated display of a corresponding one of the parallel dimensions and avatars therein.

The filtration chamber receives the polluted indoor air with the polluted indoor air traveling through the water leaving behind particulate matter and gaseous particles in the water and cleaned air exiting the filtration chamber. An electrolyzer continuously electrolyzes distilled water to generate hydrogen molecules and oxygen molecules in an electrolysis process with the oxygen gases added to the cleaned air exiting the filtration chamber. A fuel cell receives the hydrogen gases from the electrolyzer for generating electricity with the fuel cell electrically connected to at least the electrolyzer for at least partially powering the electrolyzer. The cleaned air exits the filtration chamber is free from particulate matter and gaseous particles.

Abstract: A novel photocatalytic oxidation system that combines long lifetime, high-power light emitting diodes (LEDs) with efficient, visible light-activated photocatalysts for the destruction of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other pathogens in air and water flow systems under ambient conditions of temperature and pressure is described. The technology uses the combination of visible photocatalysts with robust visible LEDs, uniform side emission fiber optics, and efficient catalyst surface illumination technologies to create a photocatalytic oxidation unit for air and water purification. This combined approach leads to numerous performance benefits including high VOC conversion efficiency, compact reactor volume, low pressure drop, and the elimination of conventional ultraviolet (UV) mercury lamp logistics and hazards.

Abstract: A gas processing apparatus of an embodiment has stacks, gas flow paths, an AC power supply, and a flow limiter. The stacks are away from each other and in parallel. Each stack includes a dielectric substrate and a first to a third electrode. The first and second electrodes are respectively disposed on the first and second main surfaces of the dielectric substrate. The third electrode is disposed inside the dielectric substrates. The gas flow paths supply a target gas between the stacks, The AC power supply applies an AC voltage across the first and second electrodes and the third electrodes, so as to generate plasma induced flows of the target gas between the dielectric substrates. The flow limiter is disposed on a downstream side of the stacks and limits a flow rate of the target gas.
