Abstract: Methods and apparatus for use in communication systems using recursive modulation schemes with a Low Density Generator Matrix code (including an irregular repeat accumulate (IRA) code) are described that have reduced complexity and thus reduced cost compared to prior art systems. A communication system is described in which the transmitter concatenates a low density generator matrix code with an accumulator followed by a recursive modulator in order to eliminate the use of an interleaver, and in which the receiver combines the decoder for the accumulator and the soft demodulator into a single joint decoder in order reduce the number of components and complexity. Another variation is also described in which the transmitter is further simplified by eliminated the accumulator altogether, and in which the receiver is further simplified by replacing the joint decoder with a soft demodulator prior to the LDGM soft decoder.

One or more service level agreement may then be identified meeting the parameters. In other examples, a determination may be made that a system outage has occurred. One or more service level agreements running when the outage occurred may be identified. A progress of the service level agreements may be determined to aid in recovery of the system.

Abstract: A system and method for performing event stream processing is described. A plurality of event streams are received from a plurality of input adapters, at least a first input adapter of the plurality of input adapters being located on a separate and distinct virtual machine than a second input adapter of the plurality of input adapters. Event stream data from the first input adapter and event stream data from the second input adapter are transformed into data of a single data type. The transformed data is stored in an in-memory database. Then real-time analysis is performed on the transformed data by accessing windows of the transformed data from the in-memory database based on rules defined in the event stream processing engine.

Abstract: A system and method can support smart buffer management in a distributed data grid. A buffer manager in the distributed data grid can provide a plurality of buffers in a buffer pool in the distributed data grid, wherein the plurality of buffers are arranged in different generations and each buffer operates to contain one or more objects. The buffer manager can prevent a garbage collector from directly recycling the memory associated with each individual object in the buffer pool, and can allow the garbage collecting of one or more objects in one or more buffers in a particular generation to be performed together.

  • Patent number: 9548914
Abstract: The invention measures the rates of a whole population of existing lines together with a line characteristic, such as capacitance, that can be measured prior to provisioning. Using these measures, a rating we refer to as a “quality figure” is generated for each distribution point by looking at the rate of the lines running through that distribution point, and comparing those rates to the rates of other lines having the same line characteristic across the whole population of lines. Distribution points that have lines operating better (faster) than the average for their given line characteristic will have higher quality figures. To estimate the rate of a new line, the quality figure of the distribution point that the new line passes through is used in conjunction with the measured line characteristic as a look up on the whole population of lines.

Abstract: In a mesh-based connected data center network architecture, a mechanism is provided to allow efficient delivery of IP multicast frames within the network. Described approaches avoid replication into VLANs (or SVIs) across the fabric by using the outer encapsulated tree to identify trees on which to replicate the traffic. Replication may be performed at the furthest point from the source (via routing or bridging). Also, multicast traffic may be distributed to dually connected (vPC) hosts on links from various network devices.

  • Patent number: 9548918
Abstract: A system including an edge router which collects data from a mesh network by receiving on multiple simultaneous frequencies. Using N simultaneous frequencies increases the throughput of a system by up to N-times, reducing the bottleneck that otherwise occurs at the take-out-point of a mesh communications system. Furthermore, nodes in direct communication with the edge router can send each data packet multiple times on multiple frequencies, increasing the probability that the packet is delivered correctly, eliminating the necessity to acknowledge (ACK) each packet. This further enhances system throughput.
