Abstract: A method of providing documents based on a use pattern includes configuring a cluster by clustering a plurality of documents; calculating a cluster importance of the cluster based on information of the cluster; calculating a user interest of the cluster based on a use pattern of a user with respect to the cluster; calculating a document importance of a respective document that belongs to the cluster based on information of the respective document; calculating a user interest of the respective document that belongs to the cluster based on the use pattern of the user with respect to the respective document; and providing the respective document using the cluster importance of the cluster, the user interest of the cluster, the document importance of the respective document, and the user interest of the respective document.

Abstract: A range k-nearest neighbor search query of a database is processed by first defining an inner rectangle bounded within a circle around a center point specified by the range k-nearest neighbor search query. Thereafter, a distance to the center point is calculated for each point within the inner rectangle. Query results are returned if k or more points are within the inner rectangle. Otherwise, at least one additional query is executed. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: A computer program product for managing and rendering one or more information nodes relative to a current focus. The computer program product receives one or more principal topics from an analysis of the information nodes. The computer program product determines a topic vector from a similarity of a first information node to each of the principal topics and a map from the topic vector to a storage location of the first information node. The computer program product determines one or more current topics from a second information node that has been recently accessed by a user and a current focus vector from a similarity of the one or more current topics to the one or more principal topics. The computer program product renders the current focus vector and the first information node according to a rendering algorithm that is applied to the current focus vector and the first information node.

Abstract: Techniques for processing a speech to text query are described herein. The techniques may include receiving a plurality of speech to text translation alternatives for a phrase of a natural language query, and tagging and parsing each of the translation alternatives based on a static analysis of the known domain that is at least partially structured, known tags of the known domain, and custom rules. The techniques may also include ranking the translation alternatives based on the tagging and parsing and translating the phrase based on the ranking.

Abstract: A processor expands a search expression. The processor determines nodes representing query terms of a search expression. The nodes have associated text for search term expansion, and represent at least one concept in a semantic graph of nodes that represents a domain of semantically related concepts. The processor determines i) a center of focus within the semantic graph for the two or more nodes based, at least in part, on a spreading activation in the graph and ii) a contextual relevance for the two or more nodes with respect to node the center of focus. The processor selects, for a query term, a node based on contextual relevance between that node and the query term and expands the search expression using an associated text of that node.

A third text message containing an answer can be received from a third user. Whether the third user begins typing the third text message after the first text message is received and before the second text message is received can be determined. Responsive to determining that the second user begins typing the third text message after the first text message is received and before the second text message is received, a determination can be made that the answer pertains to the first question. Responsive to determining that the answer pertains to the first question, the third text message can be configured for presentation in a manner indicating that the answer pertains to first question.

Abstract: Mechanisms for processing a corpus of information in a natural language processing system are provided. A corpus of information to process is identified and a set of author profiles associated with the corpus of information is retrieved. A content profile is generated for a portion of content of the corpus of information and the content profile is compared to the set of author profiles to generate an association of the content profile with at least one author profile in the set of author profiles. In addition, a processing operation of the natural language processing (NLP) system is controlled based on the association of the content profile with the at least one author profile.

Abstract: A method and a system for efficient search of string patterns characterized by positional relationships in a character stream are disclosed. The method is based on grouping string patterns of a dictionary into at least two string sets and performing string search processes of a text of the character stream based on individual string sets with the outcome of a search process influencing a subsequent search process. A system implementing the method comprises a dictionary processor for generating string sets with corresponding text actions and search actions, a conditional search engine for locating string patterns belonging to at least one string set in a text according to a current search state, a text operator for producing an output text according to search results, and a search operator for determining a subsequent search state.

Abstract: In some natural language understanding (NLU) applications, results may not be tailored to the user's query. In an embodiment of the present invention, a method includes tagging elements of automated speech recognition (ASR) data based on an ontology stored in a memory. The method further includes indexing tagged elements to an entity of the ontology. The method further includes generating a logical form of the ASR data based on the tagged elements and the indexed entities. The method further includes mapping the logical form to a query to a respective corresponding database stored in the memory. The method further includes issuing the query to the respective corresponding databases. The method further includes presenting results of the query to the user via a display or a voice response system.

Abstract: A method for performing natural language processing includes receiving a primary text file. The received primary text file is scanned to determine a set of statistics related to a frequency at which various words of the primary text file follow other words of the primary text file. A probabilistic word generator is created based on the determined set of statistics. The probabilistic word generator generates synthetic text exhibiting the determined set of statistics. Synthetic text exhibiting the determined set of statistics is generated using the created probabilistic word generator. Word vectorization is performed on the synthetic text. Results of the performed vectorization are used to perform machine learning tasks.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to systems and methods of aggregating social content of an entity and provide the social content through an entity-specific application that is customized for the entity, according to an implementation of the invention. The entity may include, for example, an artist (e.g., a musician, singer, etc.) for whom a customized artist-specific application is generated. The entity-specific application may be provided as a mobile application that executes on a user device used by a user. The social content may be aggregated from third party social media platforms and may be provided along with other content, such as an artist's music. The other content, including music, may be made available only through the entity-specific application. Entities such as artists may monetize their social and other content based on usage of their entity-specific applications by users, encouraging such entities to promote usage of their applications.

Abstract: Methods and systems to identify video content based on video fingerprint matching are described. In some example embodiments, the methods and systems generate a query fingerprint of a frame of video content captured at a client device, query a database of reference fingerprints, determine the query fingerprint of the frame of captured video content matches a reference fingerprint, and identify the video content based on the match of fingerprints.

Abstract: This disclosure is related to a method and device for providing video update information from a server to a terminal device, and a storage medium, which belongs to the computer field. The method includes recording a user's operation related to a video, and determining whether the video is present in a video database. When the video is not present in the video, the method includes determining whether the number of recorded user's operations related to the video is more than a threshold value, monitoring the video database until the video is added to the video database when the number of recorded user's operations related to the video is more than the threshold value, and send update information on the video to the terminal device when the video is added to the video database.

Abstract: An information retrieval method utilizing webpage visual and language features and a system using thereof are disclosed. The system includes an analysis result database, a webpage template database, a webpage collecting module, and an analyzing module. The webpage template database stores template feature arrays of respective target websites. Each of the template feature arrays includes one or more template visual feature and one or more template language feature which are corresponding to template nodes of a DOM tree. The system is linked to a target website by the webpage collecting module, so as to retrieve webpage feature arrays of a target webpage of the target website. The system calculates an overall similarity between the webpage feature arrays and the template feature arrays corresponding to the same target website. Consequently, a desired information content can be determined and stored in the analysis result database.

A content preview document is generated using data extracted from the content preview source. The content preview document is made available in a searchable index used by a search engine to respond to a search query. A fetch operation is scheduled to fetch the target document using the reference provided in the content preview source. Once fetched, the data extracted from the content preview source can be associated with the target document, and can be used in presenting the target document in search results.

Abstract: A method and system is described that enable a plurality of co-authors to generate and edit work product to be incorporated into different documents customized to suit the interests of different audiences. A first user authors a text passage that pertains to a certain subject matter, intending to use this passage in a particular document. The passage is made available over a network to other users who may wish to include the text passage or a derivative thereof in another document being authored. A second user may link to the text passage to incorporate it into another document. When that occurs, changes that either the first user or a copy editor, as a third user, makes to the passage can be made simultaneously in the other document being generated by the other user. If instead, the second user wishes to edit the text passage, the link can be broken and a derivative text passage can be created for inclusion in that second user's document.

Abstract: An emulator for a test scenario corresponding to a connected vehicle application is presented. The emulator includes a test bed for testing a device under test (DUT) communicatively coupled to emulated intelligent transportation system (ITS) stations. The test bed also includes a processor configured to emulate the test scenario based on user-defined configuration parameters that define a behavior of the DUT and each of the emulated ITS stations during simulated events in the test scenario. The processor further includes a mobility engine configured to generate and periodically update one or more mobility parameters corresponding to the DUT and the emulated ITS stations based on the corresponding configuration parameters. The test bed further includes a channel emulator, a controller area network (CAN) simulator, and a global navigational satellite system (GNSS) simulator integrated into a single test bed for holistically emulating the test scenario and validating a desired functionality of the DUT.

Abstract: A method for producing bone grafts using 3-D printing is employed using a 3-D image of a graft location to produce a 3-D model of the graft. This is printed using a 3-D printer and a printing medium that produces a porous, biocompatible, biodegradable material that is conducive to osteoinduction. For example, the printing medium may be PCL, PLLA, PGLA, or another approved biocompatible polymer. In addition such a method may be useful for cosmetic surgeries, reconstructive surgeries, and various techniques required by such procedures. Once the graft is placed, natural bone gradually replaces the graft.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a design tool that iteratively performs simulation sets on an integrated circuit design, each corresponding to a different hierarchical level with each of the simulation sets producing a different set of simulation results. Each of the simulation sets utilizes a different set of local parameter values that include extreme instance local parameter values based on the set of simulation results of a preceding simulation set. The design tool generates a set of hierarchically aggregated simulation results based upon the last set of simulation results and global parameters, and modifies the integrated circuit design based upon a yield estimation that is determined from comparing the set of hierarchically aggregated simulation results to specification requirements that correspond to the integrated circuit design.

Abstract: A transistor model defines the carrier mobility as a combination of both drift-diffusion mobility and ballistic mobility. The ballistic mobility is calculated based on the assumption that the kinetic energy of carriers near an injection point is no greater than the potential energy difference of carriers near that injection point. The abruptness of the onset of velocity saturation, as well as the asymptotic velocity associated therewith is made dependent on the degree to which the velocity is ballistically limited. The model further takes into account the inertial effects on the velocity and/or charge flux associated with carriers. The model computes the mobility and hence the velocity of carriers in accordance with their positions in the channel both along the direction of the current flow as well as the direction perpendicular to the current flow.
