Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for assessing the fidelity of a synthetic peptide population including interrogating a population of peptide features in the presence of a receptor having an affinity for a plurality of binder sequences. A first amino acid is at a defined position within a first one of the binder sequences, and the population of peptide features includes a first control peptide feature synthesized to have an amino acid sequence including the first one of the binder sequences. The system and method further includes detecting a signal output characteristic of an interaction of the receptor with the first control peptide feature. The signal output is indicative of the fidelity of incorporation of the first amino acid into the first control peptide at the defined position within the first one of the binder sequences.

  • Publication number: 20170059580
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure present novel systems, devices and methods for an automated biological sample analysis using mass-spectrometry. The time from sample introduction to the reporting of data, in some embodiments, takes a relatively short amount of time (e.g., several minutes). In some embodiments, a biological sample to be analyzed is a blood sample. For many applications, only a single drop of blood may be sufficient. Through the use of a mixture of standards with unique molecular mass, a quantitative analysis of the target analyte can be performed in a single MS run (for example), eliminating the need to create and analyze standard curves. One advantage of such embodiments may be that the system, devices, and methods can eliminate the need for batch creation since the requirement to amortize the time and effort of creating and analyzing standard curves can be eliminated.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a new, robust fluorometric cell-free biochemical assay that measures HDL redox activity (HRA) is provided. In certain embodiments the assay is based on the oxidation of the fluorochrome AMPLEX® RED in the presence of HRP. HRA correlated with previously validated cell-based (r=0.47, p<0.001) and cell-free assays (r=0.46, p<0.001). HRA measurement identified samples with dysfunctional HDL in established animal models of atherosclerosis and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) patients. Using an immunoaffinity method for capturing HDL the utility of this novel assay for measuring HRA in a high throughput format was demonstrated. HRA measurements correlated significantly with measures of cardiovascular disease such as carotid intima media thickness (r=0.35, p<0.01) and subendocardial viability ratio (r=?0.21, p=0.05) and physiological parameters such as metabolic and anthropometric parameters (p<0.05).

Abstract: A probe head includes a first guiding board, a second guiding board, a spacer, a positioning assembly and probes. The second guiding board is stacked over the first guiding board, in which an accommodating space is formed between the first guiding board and the second guiding board. The spacer is disposed on the second guiding board and is located in the accommodating space. The positioning assembly is disposed aid supported on the second guiding board and is movably retained between the spacer and the first guiding board, and the positioning assembly includes a supporting frame and a film. The supporting frame includes at least one rib portion. The film is fixed to the supporting frame. The probes pass through the first guiding board, the second guiding board, and the film.

Abstract: The test system provides an array of test probes. The probes pass through a first or upper probe guide retainer which has a plurality of slot sized to receive the probes in a way that they cannot rotate. A plurality of flex circuits at the different heights engage bottom probe ends at their respective height levels and flex circuits continue the electrical connection from the probes to a load board. The test probes are bonded to the flex circuits by ring shaped flowable conductive material. The flex circuits are biased against a load board by an elastomeric pad of spaced part conical projections.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for investigating signal parameters in an electrical measuring device with a display element with the method steps: display of a detected signal on the display element, manual masking of at least one signal component of the signal by a user by means of a masking element of the measuring device and investigation of signal parameters from the masked signal component or from the unmasked signal component of the signal by the measuring device. At least one further signal parameter is also investigated alongside the time duration and the bandwidth of the masked signal component. According to the invention, a corresponding measuring device is also provided.

Abstract: There is provided a non-contact voltage measurement device which can precisely measure a measurement target voltage by suppressing a flow of a leakage current via a parasitic capacitance produced between an electric field shield and an electric circuit. A drive voltage applying unit applies a voltage generated from an output voltage of a low impedance unit of the electric circuit and equal to an input voltage of a high impedance unit, to a first electric field shield coated on the high impedance unit.

Abstract: A portable measurement device includes an elongated body, a stationary portion fixedly mounted to a distal end, and a movable jaw movably mounted to the distal end and movable between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the movable jaw and the stationary portion form a closed loop with an inner diameter of less than or equal to 10 mm. Alternatively, at least one of the movable jaw and the stationary portion has a cross-sectional diameter of less than or equal to 5 mm. In the open position, the movable jaw and the stationary portion define a gap allowing a wire under test to pass therethrough into the loop. A switch drives the movable jaw between the closed and open positions. A measurement circuit electrically coupled to the stationary portion and the movable jaw to receive and measure a sensing current generated by the closed loop.
