Abstract: A chemical resistant composite glove that includes a first polymeric layer in the shape of a glove; and a second polymeric layer disposed on the first polymeric layer, and wherein the first polymeric layer is specified for one class of chemical resistance and the second polymeric layer is specified for a second class of chemical resistance, and optionally a third polymeric layer, which may be a thin coating, disposed on at least one of first polymeric layer or the second polymeric layer and is optionally specified for a third class of chemical resistance.

Abstract: A passive mechanical system comprising an unpowered exoskeleton to maintain static grip around an object via a tendon drive and ratchet mechanism. The ratchet mechanism combines a passive cable retract and ratchet system with one or more cables acting as artificial tendons. When a user wishes to keep their hand in a specific position around an object, the ratchet system is engaged. A cable retract mechanisim keeps the artifical tendon taught at all times. The combination of these systems allows for the user to keep grip on objects without the need to input force over time thereby reducing fatigue.

Abstract: Described is an adjustable hair band that includes an elongated main body portion including an exterior side, an interior side, and first and second holes extending between the exterior and interior sides. The adjustable hair band also includes a strap that passes through the first hole and the second hole, the strap including a first end portion that is larger than the first hole and a second end portion that is larger than the second hole. The strap may be configured to move between (i) a loose configuration where the first end portion is adjacent to the exterior side at the first hole and the second end portion is adjacent to the exterior side at the second hole and (ii) a tightened configuration where the first end portion is pulled away from the first hole such that a portion of the strap passes through the first hole.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of securing and aligning a necktie on a shirt. The method includes an object with flexible material loops protruding from two sides of the object. The object is put through a necktie loop located on the rear portion of a necktie and remains in this position while the flexible material loops are then attached to the two closest buttons on a shirt. This method secures a necktie to a shirt, whereby ensuring that a necktie remains vertically aligned over the buttons on a shirt, while at the same time the invention remains hidden from view while in use.

Abstract: An apparel item configured to reduce the perception of cling is provided herein. The apparel item comprises a first set of outwardly-projecting nodes on a first portion of the apparel item, a second set of outwardly-projecting nodes on a second portion of the apparel item, and a third set of inwardly-projecting nodes on a third portion of the apparel item, where the third set of nodes is positioned between the first set of nodes and the second set of nodes. The first and second sets of outwardly-projecting nodes comprise apertures that provide a communication passage from an outer surface of the apparel item to an inner surface of the apparel item. Besides reducing the surface area of the apparel item that comes into contact with a wearer's skin surface, the nodes also facilitate cooling the wearer and speed up drying times of the apparel item when being worn.

Abstract: A protective clothing system for protecting a user from high velocity particles and lacerating objects. The protective clothing system generally includes a clothing item having a front portion and a rear portion. The front portion of the clothing item is constructed of three to fifteen sheets of protective material to protect the front portion of the body of the user from high velocity particles and lacerating objects. The rear portion of the clothing item may have no protective material or significantly less sheets of protective material compared to the front portion to help reduce the weight of the clothing item. The joints of the clothing item corresponding to the human joints are relatively free moving to provide increased mobility to the user.

Abstract: A hair extension comprises a plurality of extension hair strands and a hair extension tip that fixes the extension hair strands at one end of the extension hair strands. The hair extension tip comprises a flat thin body in which the extension hair strands are embedded and four parallel Protrusions formed on one surface of the flat body. The body has a rectangular shape, and the protrusions are aligned with the extension hair strands. The protrusion has a triangular cross-sectional shape having a height in a range from 1 mm to 2 mm. The hair extension tip is made of thermoplastic material.

Abstract: A winged visor stiffener for a hat's bill. A flat horizontal front section is connected to two angled offset sections. Two flat horizontal wings are connected to the two angled offset sections. The winged visor stiffener is sewn into the hat's bill via a plurality of rows of tight stitching. The winged visor stiffener provides protection to the wearer's face from the sun while optimizing peripheral vision and prevents the bill from flopping up or down in wet and windy conditions.

Abstract: Implementations of a helmet mounted lighting system are provided. In some implementations, the lighting system may be mounted to a helmet, hard hat, and/or other type of protective headwear. In some implementations, the lighting system acts as a safety device when mounted to a protective headwear by providing illumination which serves as a visual indicator of the wearer's presence and/ or location. In some implementations, the lighting system may comprise a mounting plate, a cover, a battery, and a printed circuit board (PCB). In some implementations, the PCB may comprise a logic board, one light emitting diode (LED), a capacitor, and/or a switch. Together, the mounting plate and cover form a housing that encases the battery and the PCB. In some implementations, the bottom side of the mounting plate may be contoured for attachment to the curved exterior surface of a protective headwear.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an article of footwear is disclosed. The footwear may include an upper and a sole structure. The upper incorporates a textile element with flat-knit edges that are joined together to define at least a portion of a void for receiving a foot. The textile element may also have a first area and a second area with a unitary construction. The first area is formed of a first stitch configuration, and the second area is formed of a second stitch configuration that is different from the first stitch configuration to impart varying textures to a surface of the textile element. Various warp knitting or weft knitting processes may be utilized to form the textile element.

Abstract: An article of footwear is disclosed that includes upper and a sole structure. The upper defines an interior void that is configured to receive the sole structure and a foot. A lower surface of the upper defines a plurality of apertures, and the sole structure includes a plurality of projections that extend through the apertures to form a ground-engaging surface. The projections are connected to a foot-supporting member that remains within the upper. A locking system is incorporated into the upper and sole structure to secure the sole structure to the upper.

Abstract: A flexible one size fits all overshoe that is placed over the shoe which covers all areas of the shoe damaged during skateboarding. This overshoe is made of a flexible material that conforms to the shoe in all areas in order to protect area of the shoe. This can be one or a combination of pieces to create the overshoe. The overshoe adds additional cushioning and traction to the heel and ball of the shoe. The mid foot of the overshoe is constructed in a way to allow stretching to fit and conform to an extremely broad range of shoe sizes. The upper and the sole also has added traction in the form of raised areas to allow the “grip” of the shoe to the skateboard for the efficient execution of tricks and stunts.

A fastening mechanism enables length adjustment of the bands, such that shear forces and strain on the foot are reduced. Three spaced-apart bands include a pair of free ends and a longitudinal axis that is sufficient to wrap around the dorsal region of foot. The bands create a taut pressure medially, wrapping laterally across the dorsal region of the foot to help prevent stress fractures and cracks on the foot. A D-ring closure enables length adjustment of the bands. The assembly supports the plantar aspect of the foot, whereby the foot is sandwiched between bands, and the midsole and outer sole of shoe. An alignment tape aligns the foot with the bands.

The article of footwear also includes a series of pins each having a post extending through corresponding ones of the series of channels between a first end and a second end. The first end extends into the cavity outward from the bottom surface of the midsole and the second end extends into the interior void outward from the footbed of the midsole. The article of footwear also includes a resilient member that engages the first end of each of the series of pins and biases the series of pins toward the interior void.

Abstract: An adjustable bending force assembly is described for use with components that are securable to objects via applied bending force. In implementations, the adjustable bending force assembly is formed as part of a band that exerts bending force upon objects inserted within the band (e.g., between the ends of the band). The adjustable bending force assembly includes one or more stiffener elements that are adjustably positionable at multiple different positions along a length of the band to vary the amount of bending force. In one approach, the stiffener elements are configured as plates that slide into different positions to adjust the bending force. The adjustable bending force assembly may be included as an integrated component of a wearable device, such as a watch or headband. Alternatively, a band can be configured as a separate component to which a device can readily be attached and detached through manual force.
