Publication number: 20170106368Abstract: Apparatuses, components, methods, and systems for interrogating samples are provided. An example system includes a flow cell. An example flow cell includes an aperture, an inlet chamber, and a sample injector positioned within the inlet chamber. An example sample injector is configured to generate a sample stream that flows in biased proximity to a profile included in the inlet chamber. An example method includes the steps of causing sheath fluid to flow into an inlet chamber and through an aperture, injecting sample into an inlet chamber with a sample injector to form a sample stream that is entrained in the sheath fluid, and interrogating the sample stream as the sample stream passes through an interrogation region within the aperture. An example sample injector includes an outlet that is disposed in an off-center position within the inlet chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2015Publication date: April 20, 2017Inventors: Richard A. Publication number: 20170106372Abstract: A jaw crusher, a crushing plant, and a method for using a crusher. A toggle plate is coupled between a pitman and a rear end of the jaw crusher with bearings at the ends of the toggle plate. A bearing holder for the bearing is present at least at one end of the toggle plate. The bearing is transferred continuously in the bearing holder to a desired location between an upper limit and a lower limit, inclusive of the upper and lower limits, with a transfer member of the bearing holder, and thus the operating angle of the toggle plate in relation to a frame of the crusher and the stroke of the crusher are changed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2015Publication date: April 20, 2017Applicant: Metso Minerals, Inc.Inventor: Jari Jonkka

Publication number: 20170106373Abstract: A method for making recesses in the surface of a roller for a rolling press. A thermal treatment is applied to a cylindrical roller surface by heating the surface in a region of the desired recesses until the material properties of the roller surface change permanently, i.e., even after cooling, with respect to the hardness of the roller material. The thermally treated regions produce a softer material in those regions than in the surrounding surface of the roller. By virture of a first start-up of the rolling press with abrasive material to be comminuted, the desired profiling is formed spontaneously due to a wearing down of the soft regions to form the desired recesses. The thermal treatment represent a particularly simple and cost-effective method for profiling rolling rollers, and in particular, rolling rollers which have already become worn, which that thereby be readily refurbished.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2014Publication date: April 20, 2017Inventors: Guenther Kopp, Dieter Brendler

Publication number: 20170106375Abstract: A splitter is provided for mounting on the leading face of a cutting assembly to be mounted on a brush cutter. In one embodiment, the splitter is preferably mounted below the cutting portion of the tooth such that as wood is cut, the cut wood is directed onto the splitter for further cutting. The tooth is mounted to cut tangentially with respect to the rotation of the cutter, while the splitter cuts radially and outwardly with respect to the rotation of the cutter. In this manner, a cutting mechanism is provided that is capable of cutting tangentially and radially simultaneously. The flow of cut wood is directed out of from the cutting assembly, thus facilitating the removal of the cutting debris away from the tooth holder and the cutting tooth, thereby cleaning the tooth of any debris and preventing wood and other debris from getting lodged within the cutting assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2015Publication date: April 20, 2017Applicant: GYRO-TRAC CORPORATIONInventor: Daniel Gaudreault
