Abstract: A method, system and computer product for performing storage maintenance is described. A training set for storage volume reclamation is received. The training set includes a set of storage parameters, each set of storage parameters corresponds to a respective candidate storage volume of a set of candidate storage volumes. The training set also includes a set of user decisions made whether a respective candidate storage volume is reclaimable. The training set is used to train a machine learning system to recognize common features of reclaimable candidate storage volumes. A set of candidate storage volumes is provided for potential reclamation, each with a set of storage parameters. A graphical user interface presents respective members of the set of candidate storage volumes for reclamation if a confidence level is calculated that the respective candidate storage volume is reclaimable exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: Machine learning on a heterogeneous event data stream using an exploit-explore model. The heterogeneous event data stream may include any number of different data types. The system featurizes at least part of the incoming event data stream in accordance with a common feature dimension space. The resulting stream of featurized event data is then split into an exploration portion and an exploitation portion. The exploration portion is used to performed machine learning to thereby advance machine knowledge. The exploitation portion is used exploit current machine knowledge. Thus, an automated balance is struck between exploitation and exploration of an incoming event data stream. The automated balancing may even be performed as a cloud computing service.

Abstract: Systems, methods and aspects, and embodiments thereof relate to unsupervised or semi-supervised features learning using a quantum processor. To achieve unsupervised or semi-supervised features learning, the quantum processor is programmed to achieve Hierarchal Deep Learning (referred to as HDL) over one or more data sets. Systems and methods search for, parse, and detect maximally repeating patterns in one or more data sets or across data or data sets. Embodiments and aspects regard using sparse coding to detect maximally repeating patterns in or across data. Examples of sparse coding include L0 and L1 sparse coding. Some implementations may involve appending, incorporating or attaching labels to dictionary elements, or constituent elements of one or more dictionaries. There may be a logical association between label and the element labeled such that the process of unsupervised or semi-supervised feature learning spans both the elements and the incorporated, attached or appended label.

Abstract: A workflow system allows a user to define dispatch forms for use by workers working on jobs of various job types. A dispatch form is a combination of the form and a query for selecting jobs. A query specifies a criterion for matching jobs by specifying a field of the form and a corresponding data value. When a worker accesses a dispatch form via a mobile device, the query of the dispatch form is sent to a data store to access the data of jobs that are ready to be dispatched to that worker. The worker can then update the data of a job using the form of the dispatch form that has been deployed to the mobile device of that worker. As the data store is updated, queries for dispatch forms for other workers will indicate that the job is now ready to be dispatched to them.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to transporting goods using a fleet of vehicles that is optimised. A processor solves a linear program to optimise a cost value by selecting one of multiple fleet configuration candidates comprising a number and type of vehicles that meet a transport demand at minimum cost. The linear program comprises constraints associated with multiple days. The processor then determines for one of the multiple days a further fleet configuration candidate based on an output of solving the linear problem and adds the further fleet configuration candidate to the multiple fleet configuration candidates by including an additional corresponding column into the linear program. The steps of solving the linear program, determining a further fleet configuration candidate and adding the further fleet configuration candidate to the multiple fleet candidates are then repeated until a termination condition is met.

Abstract: Methodologies, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for generating routes for relocating delivery of objects. Public data relating to a user's current location, a current location of an object to be delivered, and the user's future travel plans is retrieved. Personal data is also retrieved, including customizable relocation preferences and future travel plans associated with the user. A relocation destination is computed for relocating delivery of the object to the user from a current delivery destination to the relocation destination based on the public data and the personal data associated with the user. A relocation time and a relocation route are also computed, based in part on the public data and the personal data associated with the user. A notification of the relocation destination and the relocation time is then transmitted to an electronic device associated with the user.

Abstract: A method and system are provided to support a decentralized distributed ledger in which transactions are recorded by parties to the transactions without the use of a blockchain. A distributed ledger system provides a protocol framework that supports the development of protocol flows. A protocol flow is computer code that controls the performance of a transaction by the party or parties to the transaction. Protocol flows can be developed for different types of transactions. The distributed ledger system allows transactions to be proposed, accepted, and notarized by a notary and stored without the use of a blockchain ledger. The distributed ledger system can avoid the expense of the computational and storage resources needed to redundantly verify a transaction and store evidence on the many nodes of a blockchain distributed ledger.
