Publication number: 20170352170Abstract: A system and process of nearsighted (myopia) camera object detection involves detecting the objects through edge detection and outlining or thickening them with a heavy border. Thickening may include making the object bold in the case of text characters. The bold characters are then much more apparent and heavier weighted than the background. Thresholding operations are then applied (usually multiple times) to the grayscale image to remove all but the darkest foreground objects in the background resulting in a nearsighted (myopic) image. Additional processes may be applied to the nearsighted image, such as morphological closing, contour tracing and bounding of the objects or characters. The bound objects or characters can then be averaged to provide repositioning feedback for the camera user. Processed images can then be captured and subjected to OCR to extract relevant information from the image.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2017Publication date: December 7, 2017Inventor: Scott E. Publication number: 20170352171Abstract: A coverage based approach to image rendering using opacity values is described. In one embodiment, a digital medium environment is configured to render an image. A plurality of layers of the image are rendered in succession as following a defined depth ordering for the plurality of the layers. Effective coverage and color is determined of a plurality of objects, together, for pixels within respective ones of the plurality of layers of the image. Publication number: 20170352210Abstract: A system for providing dynamic access to a vehicle via a plurality of devices. A device and/or a server of an authentication network stored fob data relating to one or more key fobs linked to the vehicle, and device data that includes data relating to one or more devices that are authorized to access the vehicle. The vehicle receives an access request indicating that a new device is requesting access to the vehicle, whereupon a challenge may be transmitted to one or more of the authorized devices. The one or more devices may respond, granting access to vehicle functions. The vehicle and/or authentication network generate a secure fob key based on the response and transmit the secure fob key to the new device. The new device may be authenticated to access vehicle functions based at least in part on the fob key.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2016Publication date: December 7, 2017Inventors: HEIKO MAIWAND, MARTIN ROEHDER, PAYTON WHITE, JAIME CAMHI

Publication number: 20170352211Abstract: A relay attack deterrence system includes a mobile platform including a plurality of mobile platform transmitter components and a mobile platform receiver component provided therein. The system further includes a fob device having a fob receiver component, a fob transmitter component, and a motion sensor component configured to produce motion information. The fob device is configured to receive, at the fob receiver component, one or more first signals from at least one of the plurality of mobile platform transmitter components and to selectably transmit, to the mobile platform receiver component, a second signal based on the motion information and position information derived from the one or more first signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2017Publication date: December 7, 2017Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: RON Y. Publication number: 20170352212Abstract: A method and system that allows authorized individuals access into controlled access locations and the ability to grant temporary and limited access to guests into these locations. The method and system allows for navigational services to be provided to members and guests, and real-time tracking and confirmation to members and administrators that guests have arrived at their destination and did not enter any unauthorized areas. The method preferably can work through a system of wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons communicating with member and guest's electronic devices. Members and administrators can send one or more temporary electronic access keys to a guest's smartphone or other electronic device. Wireless radio, sound and/or light-based beacons provide an access control and location tracking system with real-time data about the member and guest whereabouts, allowing for the confirmation and tracking.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2017Publication date: December 7, 2017Inventors: BRUCE HOWARD KUSENS, MICHAEL KUSENS

Publication number: 20170352213Abstract: A mobile computing device for transmitting token data to a key card reading device having an activation mechanism is provided. The computing device is programmed to receive token data representing access data of a key card, generate a transmission signal representing the access data of the key card based on the token data in response to receiving the token data, and output the transmission signal to the key card reading device. The access data causes the key card reading device to activate the activation mechanism. The transmission signal causes the key card reading device to activate the activation mechanism when the mobile computing device is placed near the key card reading device and the transmission signal is authenticated by the key card reading device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2016Publication date: December 7, 2017Inventor: William Raymond Bowie
