Abstract: It is presented a method for conditionally authenticating a user for access to a physical space. The method is performed in an access control device connected to a physical lock device. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining first sensor data being based on a mobile device sensing a tap of a user; obtaining second sensor data being based on a fixed sensor sensing a tap of a user; determining whether the first sensor data matches the second sensor data by determining whether the first sensor data reflects a tap of the user and corresponds to a tap of the user also reflected in the second sensor data; and sending an unlock signal to the physical lock device when the first sensor data matches the second sensor data.

Abstract: A wireless door lock system with an emergency reporting function includes a user device, a door lock device, a network server and at least one recipient device. When the user device transmits a request signal for reporting an emergency condition to the door lock device, the door lock device determines if the user device is a paired device of the door lock device according to the request signal and further sends an emergency condition confirmation signal to the user device by way of wireless communication. The user device is then connected to the network server through the Internet and transmits an emergency condition signal to activate the network server to perform a push notification service and send an emergency condition message to the at least one recipient device. Given the push notification, the emergency condition message can be instantly provided to right recipients for emergency condition notification.

Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product improve a function of a computer used to make a seat in a venue available to a user. One or more processors received a request for a seat at a venue from a user. The processor(s) retrieve a user profile of the user and a seat profile of the seat, and then match features in the user profile to features in the seat profile. The processor(s), in response to the features in the user profile matching the features in the seat profile, store the user profile and the seat profile in a seat control storage device that is solely dedicated to the seat. The processor(s) then direct the user to the seat that is identified in the seat control storage device, where the user is identified by the user profile in the seat control storage device, and where the seat is identified by the seat profile in the seat control storage device.

The electronic device also includes impact location and impact severity determination procedures executable by its processor from its memory module to provide an impact indicator or a visual representation of the impact which may indicate possible damage, shock or fracture incurred on the device. The impact indicator serves as a preview of impacts by displaying gradients of green, yellow and red depicted in increasing severity, i.e., from “no impact” event to “severe impact” event.

Abstract: An apparatus for protecting an entrance to a protected area comprises a magnetic sensor to measure an ambient magnetic field or gradient within a first zone of sensitivity at a non-magnetic sensor means adapted to detect the presence of objects within a primary detection zone, a signal processing circuit arranged in communication with the magnetic sensor apparatus and nonmagnetic sensor apparatus, and a warning device operable by an output signal from the signal processing circuit, the warning device adapted to provide an alarm. The signal processing circuit identifies temporal variations due to the movement of a ferromagnetic object within the ambient magnetic field and correlates them with instances in which the non-magnetic sensor means detects the presence of an object in its detection zone, and causes the alarm to operate in the event that the correlation is indicative of the presence of a ferromagnetic object in the primary detection zone.

Abstract: A mobile cart that holds a bag for receiving solid waste generated during a medical or surgical procedure. The cart includes a sensor that monitors whether or not an object containing metal is placed in the bag. A processor monitors the signal output by the sensor. If the sensor signal indicates that an object with a minimal amount of metal is placed in the bag, the processor momentarily asserts an audible alarm and continuously asserts a light alarm. The light alarm remains asserted until turned off. If, while the light alarm is on, the sensor signal indicates a second object with the minimal amount of waste is placed in the container, the processor again momentarily asserts the audible alarm. This provides notice that it may be necessary to investigate the contents of the bag to determine if not one but two or more objects were inadvertently discarded.

Abstract: Arrangements relate to the automatic adjustment of an alert trigger threshold associated with a metric. In response to a determination that a predetermined alert trigger threshold associated with a metric is met, an alert notification can be sent to a plurality of users associated with the metric. Feedback on the alert notification can be received from one or more of the plurality of users. The alert trigger threshold can be adjusted based on the received feedback. Such adjusting can be performed using a processor.

The premises where the crowd environment will exist includes one or more nodes that can gather realtime location data for multiple mobile devices. The system includes off-premises processing such as a data center, or an on-premises server, or both. The processing receives the realtime location data from the one or more nodes and performs swarm analytics processing on the data. The swarm analytics processing can determine if movement patterns indicated by the location data indicate a likely threat condition for the crowd. The system notifies a first responder of the threat condition. The system can optionally notify the users of the mobile devices as well.
