Abstract: A method for solubilizing a carbonaceous feedstock. The method includes steps of reacting a mixture of the carbonaceous feedstock with a metal oxide including a metal at a first, higher oxidation state to reduce the metal of the metal oxide to a second, lower oxidation state by releasing at least one oxygen atom from the metal oxide. The released oxygen from the metal oxide is used to oxidize the carbonaceous feedstock. At least a portion of the metal or metal oxide containing the metal at the second, lower oxidation state is then oxidized to the metal oxide containing the metal at the first, higher oxidation state for reuse in the reaction step.

Abstract: This invention involves a method and a device for enhanced oil-water separation and desalination in a low-pressure separator. The water-containing oil is mixed with desalted water in a countercurrent way at the entrance, wherein the desalted water accounts for 0-1% of the water-containing oil by volume. The resultant oil-water mixture then enters a T-shaped liquid-gas separator (3) for degassing treatment to quickly separate gas from the mixture. In a low-pressure separator, the oil-water mixture flows, from left to right, to a flow conditioner (4) to uniformly distribute the mixture in the transverse section, and then flows to a hydrophilic droplet agglomeration module (5) and a CPI fast separation module (6) to separate water from oil, wherein part of the separated water is discharged and the oil with a trace of water (0-0.01%) passes over a partition (18) to a deep separation segment.

The method implements a first catalytic step for selective hydrogenation of diolefins at a temperature of between 60° C. and 150° C. and then a step for heating the effluent that is obtained from the first step with a temperature difference ?T of between 10° C. and 100° C. and a second catalytic step on the effluent that is heated in such a way as to produce an effluent that has a content of sulfide-type compounds of formula R1-S—R2, with R1 and R2 selected from among the methyl (CH3) and ethyl (C2H5) radicals, lower than that of the starting gasoline.
Abstract: A two-step gasification process and apparatus for the conversion of solid or liquid organic waste into clean fuel, suitable for use in a gas engine or a gas burner, is described. The waste is fed initially into a primary gasifier, which is a graphite arc furnace. Within the primary gasifier, the organic components of the waste are mixed with a predetermined amount of air, oxygen or steam, and converted into volatiles and soot. The volatiles consist mainly of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, and may include a variety of other hydrocarbons and some fly ash. The gas exiting the primary gasifier first passes through a hot cyclone, where some of the soot and most of the fly ash is collected and returned to the primary gasifier.

Abstract: An oil-coal co-hydrotreating processing includes the following steps: pulverized coal, vacuum residue and recycle oil are mixed to prepare coal slurry. After mixed with hydrogen, catalyst and additive, oil-coal slurry is preheated into a slurry bed reactor with high reacting pressure for thermal cracking and hydrogenation reaction. After reaction, all the products go into the hot high pressure separator for separation of solid from the bottom and gas from the top. The gas obtained goes into the fixed bed reactor for further hydrocracking or refining, and the distillate obtained enter the fractionating tower. The vacuum gas oil from the bottom of fractionating tower is taken as recycle oil piped to the oil-coal slurry mixing device as solvent.
