Abstract: Disinfection using light therapy is described herein where a support platform which is configured to support a region of a patient's body may integrate or incorporate one or more light elements positioned within, upon, or in proximity to the support platform for exposing the patient's body to the light therapy. Additionally, light sources and/or heating elements may also be incorporated with mattresses and/or covers for disinfection prior to patient use.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a fall-protection safety harness having padding structures located at harness pressure points, including dorsal and shoulder regions, the lumbar region, and leg regions. The padding structures may be constructed to provide air-flow parallel to a wearer's skin. Air may flow through wearer-webbing channels created by displacing a webbing via comfort pads. For example, the padding structures may be made by sandwiching foam pads between mesh fabric materials. The foam pads may be captured by the two mesh fabrics using circumferential stitching, for example. Circumferential stitching may permit the foam to retain its uncompressed form which may facilitate webbing displacement. Separate and symmetric pads may be located on both sides of a wearer's spine, both at the lumbar region and at the dorsal region of the back, permitting airflow between pads and along the wearer's spine.

The fire-block device can be a wall component that includes a fire-resistant material strip that expands in response to sufficient heat to create a fire-resistant barrier. The fire-block wall component may have a U-shaped central portion and a pair of side portions extending in opposite directions from the central portion. The fire-resistant material may be positioned on the central portion of the fire-block device. The central portion may be positioned within the gap such that the fire-resistant material expands in response to sufficient heat to create a fire-resistant barrier.

Abstract: A weighted vest includes weight attachment points that allow the user to customize the weight distribution when attaching resistance across a body surface. The vest is secured with shoulder straps, side support straps and a chest buckle and can be comfortably worn during any form of physical exercise, freeing the user's hands for other purposes. The vest is reinforced to withstand the stress of the added resistance with the interior of the vest being padded for comfort. Exchangeable rubber disks are removeably fastened to a back panel to modify the resistance in order to achieve the desired exercise intensity. The disks are shaped to fit together to form a continuous, tessellated layer, if desired, and are secured to attachment points on the weight panel with fasteners. The rubber disks are weighted to provide added mass with sufficient flexibility to conform to contours of the user's body.

Abstract: This application discloses a hip joint apparatus, or hip harness, configured to align with the femoral head of a user's hip joint for application of pressure, while maintaining proper anatomic position of the femoral head—i.e., aligned behind the actalum—which in turn helps reduce the incident of labral tears and irritation caused when the user squats or lunges too deeply. Thus, the hip harness helps hold the femur head posteriorly from shifting forward during a squat or deep lunge, which in turn, may help to prevent labral tears and irritation. The hip harness apparatus comprises a primary waist belt configured for adjustable attachment around a waist of a user; a secondary thigh belt configured for adjustable attachment around the upper portion of a user's thigh; and a pressure pad, wherein the pressure pad is configured for adjustable attachment with the secondary thigh belt and wherein the pressure pad is configured in shape and size to abut a femoral head of an anterior portion of the user's hip joint.

The glove includes a microprocessor, an inertial measurement unit, and other related electrical components so that the method of analyzing punching activities can be executed through a single punch analysis. The inertial measurement unit timestamps and collects raw orientation and spatial positioning data for the glove, and enables the microprocessor to execute the single punch analysis throughout the training session. The single punch analysis outputs and displays a forward glove speed, a forward glove force, a forward glove power, heart rate of the boxer, calories burned by the boxer, lag time between multiple punches, and total number of punches throughout the training session.
