Abstract: The present invention provides a resin composition that is thermally curable at a temperature of approximately 80° C., excellent in PCT tolerance, and, therefore, suitable as a one-component adhesive to be used during manufacture of image sensor modules or electronic components. The resin composition contains (A) an epoxy resin; (B) a compound represented by formula (1) below; (C) a curing accelerator; and (D) a silane coupling agent. The compound of the (B) component has a content of 1:0.3 to 1:2.5, in terms of an equivalent ratio between epoxy groups in the epoxy resin of the (A) component and thiol groups in the compound of the (B) component, the silane coupling agent of the (D) component has a content of 0.2 parts by mass to 60 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass in total of the (A) component, the (B) component, the (C) component, and the (D) component, and an equivalent ratio between thiol groups in the compound of the (B) component and Si in the silane coupling agent of the (D) is 1:0.

Abstract: Waterproof urethane-based adhesive compositions are described herein. Silane is reacted with prepolymer urethane to at least partially end-cap the urethane. A reinforcing extender, a thixotropic agent, and methylethylketoximino (MEKO) silane are also added to the composition. When applied to a substrate, the adhesive composition has a tack-free time of at least about 90-120 minutes. The adhesive is cured to a final product that is waterproof, hydrolytically stable, and pH resistant. In conjunction with the adhesive, a prepolymer composition may be used to suppress moisture vapor emanating from a concrete surface. The prepolymer composition can penetrate and polymerize within the near-surface region of the concrete substrate to form a densified concrete/plastic matrix that is self-priming when cured.

Abstract: Organoclay is used as an alternative emulsifier and reinforcing agent and to enhance the strength of emulsified polymeric gel aqueous solutions and form water in oil emulsions. The stability of the emulsion can be controlled by controlling salinity and the intensity of initial mixing. The new system can be used for water shut-off treatments as well as a relative permeability modifier in high water permeability zones. In addition, the system can tolerate salts much better than classical surfactants. This system will be appropriate for wellbores having high temperature (>85° C.) with harsh environmental conditions.
