Publication number: 20180344173Abstract: A method for computing fractional flow reserve (FFR), comprising: receiving geometrical parameters of a blood vessel segment comprising a proximal end and a distal end, the geometrical parameters comprising a first geometrical parameter, a second geometrical parameter and a third geometrical parameter; and with the proximal end as a reference point, deriving a reference lumen diameter function and a geometrical parameter difference function based on the geometrical parameters and the distance from the position along the segment of blood vessel to the reference point. Derivatives of the geometrical parameter difference function are calculated in multiple scales. A maximum mean blood flow velocity of the segment is obtained, and FFR is computed as a ratio of a second blood flow pressure at the first location of the blood vessel to a first blood flow pressure at the proximal end of the segment based on the multiple scales of derivative difference functions and the maximum mean blood flow velocity.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2016Publication date: December 6, 2018Applicant: PULSE MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGY (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD.Inventors: Shengxian TU, Miao CHU, Bing LIU, Yazhu CHEN

Lumen Morphology and Vascular Resistance Measurements Data Collection Systems, Apparatus and Methods
Publication number: 20180344174Abstract: A method and apparatus of automatically locating in an image of a blood vessel the lumen boundary at a position in the vessel and from that measuring the diameter of the vessel. From the diameter of the vessel and estimate blood flow rate, a number of clinically significant physiological parameters are then determine and various user displays of interest generated. One use of these images and parameters is to aid the clinician in the placement of a stent. The system, in one embodiment, uses these measurements to allow the clinician to simulate the placement of a stent and to determine the effect of the placement. In addition, from these patient parameters various patient treatments are then performed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2013Publication date: December 6, 2018Applicant: LightLab Imaging, Inc.Inventors: Joseph M. Publication number: 20180344178Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods for measuring one or more physiological signals while the user is engaged in a predetermined activity. Exemplary predetermined activities can include activities such as walking, climbing stairs, biking, and the like. The physiological measurements can include, but are not limited to, heart rate signals. The physiological measurements may be affected by the predetermined activity, so the system may be configured to employ one or more criteria prior to measuring physiological information to minimize the effects. The one or more criteria can include, but are not limited to, an inter-sampling waiting time, continuous motion criteria, predetermined activity criteria, a post-physiological measurement amount of time, and a confidence value. The continuous motion criteria can be based on the type of predetermined activity. For example, walking may have walking state criteria and a step count criteria.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2018Publication date: December 6, 2018Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Siyi DENG, Stephen J.
