  • Patent number: 10152819
Abstract: Methods and devices for rendering graphics in a computer system include a graphical processing unit (GPU) with a flexible, dynamic, application-directed mechanism for varying the rate at which fragment shading is performed for rendering an image to a display. In particular, the described aspects allow different shading rates to be used for different regions of a primitive based on a new, interpolated shading rate parameter. In other words, the described aspects enable the GPU to change shading rates on-the-fly between different fragments of each primitive. Additionally, or independently, the GPU utilizes each respective shading rate parameter to determine how many sample positions to consider to be covered by the computed shaded output, e.g., the fragment color, thereby allowing the color sample to be shared across two or more pixels.

  • Patent number: 10152821
Abstract: In order to prevent color bleeding, a method of volume rendering a three-dimensional (3D) dataset includes identifying, by a processor, a mask that defines a segmented volume within the 3D dataset. The processor identifies a position within the 3D dataset at or adjacent to a boundary defined by the mask, identifies a plurality of voxels within the 3D dataset that are adjacent to the identified position within the 3D dataset, and determine, for each voxel of the plurality of voxels, whether the respective voxel is inside or outside of the identified mask. The processor determines, for each voxel of the plurality of voxels, a weight for the respective voxel based on the determination of whether the respective voxel is inside or outside of the identified mask. The processor determines a voxel value for the identified position based on the determined weights and voxel values for the plurality of voxels, respectively.

  • Patent number: 10152825
Abstract: Provided are mechanisms and processes for augmenting multi-view image data with synthetic objects using inertial measurement unit (IMU) and image data. In one example, a process includes receiving a selection of an anchor location in a reference image for a synthetic object to be placed within a multi-view image. Movements between the reference image and a target image are computed using visual tracking information associated with the multi-view image, device orientation corresponding to the multi-view image, and an estimate of the camera's intrinsic parameters. A first synthetic image is then generated by placing the synthetic object at the anchor location using visual tracking information in the multi-view image, orienting the synthetic object using the inverse of the movements computed between the reference image and the target image, and projecting the synthetic object along a ray into a target view associated with the target image.

  • Patent number: 10152830
Abstract: An athlete (1) measures sprint time by locating a smartphone (3) having a camera and crystal oscillator clock which is first activated at the finish line. The sprint end time is recorded by a photo stamp time app activated by a video trigger causing the smartphone (3) to send a RF stop event signal to the athlete's wrist mounted motion sensor (2). Before this a sensor timer or clock is started via the sprinter's start event. The sprinter's start activates the sensor's clock and saves the captured start time including time drift error. Upon the phone app selecting the run time function, a sync command sent to the sensor (2) by the app zeros out the phone and sensor timers. A one-time crystal calibration routine correcting for drift errors caused by the smartphone's operating system is activated which provides the sprint with a corrected start time.

In response to a designated event occurring in association with a specific one of the plurality of simultaneously or concurrently played games, the gaming system changes the focal point of the display device to draw the player's focus or attention to that specific one of the simultaneously or concurrently played games. Put differently, the gaming system dynamically allocates and/or indicates different portions of a display device to different simultaneously or concurrently played games at different points in time to account for different events occurring in such simultaneously or concurrently played games.

Abstract: An optical fiber cord management system and method is provided to monitor and manage optical fiber cords locations in telecommunication equipment. The system may comprise an antenna to receive a radio signal propagated from an optical fiber cord, and a processor, in communication with the antenna, to receive radio signal data. The processor may determine if the radio signal data matches a modulated radio signal. If the processor determines that the radio signal data associated with the radio signal matches the modulated radio signal, the processor causes a luminescent member to illuminate.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for separating the motion detection zone(s) of an A/V recording and communication device from the motion alert zone(s) of the A/V recording and communication device. For example, an A/V recording and communication device may be configured to generate motion alerts, and to record audio and video footage, when an event is detected within a selected motion alert zone (e.g., within a defined radius around the A/V recording and communication device). However, the A/V recording and communication device may not generate a motion alert for an event detected outside of the selected motion alert zone, even though the device may still record audio and video footage for the detected event (e.g., when the event is within a selected motion detection zone).
