Abstract: A solution for a logistical problem within the beverage industry, specifically related to hot beverages such as coffee and tea; namely, storing the means to sell the beverages, which generally includes a cup, a lid for the cup, and an insulation sleeve that allows holding the cup in a comfortable way for the consumer, avoiding burns due to the high temperatures of the liquid. Thus, the container presented here unifies the 3 elements, comprising a body formed by a base and a wall, where the upper edge of said container has a group of flaps that in their closed position enables liquid containment and prevents spillage in case the container is moved, and through a modification in the cross profile of the wall. Additionally, the container has an insulation sleeve that keeps the contact surface at a low temperature.

Abstract: An oriental food takeout box and plate assembly and method of folding provides a unitary body, which is interchangeable between a planar eating surface configuration and a takeout box configuration along a folding and unfolding path. The takeout box configuration is defined by two opposing side faces with each side face forming at least one side container aperture, two opposing lateral faces, an enclosed bottom face, an inner upper face opposing the enclosed bottom face and defining two parallel spaced-apart slits forming a loop, and an outer upper face defining a loop aperture with the loop protruding therethrough. At least one utensil passes through the loop to fasten the outer upper face to inner upper face, so as to retain the unitary body in the takeout box configuration. Side container apertures form in the side faces to retain side containers that contains a condiment for consuming with the oriental food.

Abstract: A container includes a plastics pressure vessel defining a hollow interior volume suitable for containing a quantity of a liquid, and comprising an inlet/outlet aperture extending through a wall thereof, and being in fluid communication with the hollow interior thereof. An insert, manufactured from a different, harder plastics material to that of the pressure vessel is provided within the inlet/outlet aperture, which is sealingly united (fused) with a periphery of the container to be securely retained therein. The plastics pressure vessel can be blow moulded around the insert so as to sealingly unite or fuse with the insert in the region of the interface between the different materials of which vessel and insert are formed. The insert may have a series of flats machined or otherwise formed around and into its outer circumferential surface so the insert is inhibited from axially or rotationally displacing relative to the pressure vessel.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a side-sealed open mesh fabric bag having one or more multi-layer seam structures. At least one side seam of the bag comprises a plurality of folded layers of the bag's fabric bonded together within a seam structure by a plurality of seal portions. At least one of those seal portions is a sacrificial seal configured to at least partially give from the seam structure, whilst one or more other seal portions of the seam structure remain intact. The sacrificial seal provides the bag with volumetric flexibility, whilst the remaining seam structure provides an improved seam strength.

Abstract: A bag (210) comprising a body (212) made of plastics material defining a volume for receiving a product, and a sealable portion (214) for sealing an opening (212a) of the body. The sealable portion includes a first layer (216) and a second layer (218) that is externally arranged around at least a portion of the first layer and has a higher melting point than the first layer. The sealable portion is configured such that, in use, a heating device may fuse the first layer together to seal the sealable portion and close the opening, where the second layer may permit the transfer of heat from the heating device to the first layer to cause fusing but prevent the fusing of the first layer to the heating device. The second layer is formed of a material that is different to the plastics material of the body.

The curled ends create a distal bias against the slider, wherein: the first and second sides engage the profiles when moved in a closing direction; the dividing member separates the profiles when moved in an opening direction opposite to the closing direction; and when the slider is moved in the closing direction onto the riser, the dividing member moves distally away from the profiles so that the zipper may be fully closed.

The device comprises a coiled tubing. The coiled tubing can be loaded onto a spool to support the coiled tubing. The tubing can be filled, sealed, stored and transported in a more robust manner than previously achieved with bags, bins and carriers.

Abstract: A stretchable piezoelectric sensor applied to logistics for real-time monitoring includes a stretchable flexible substrate and a conductive layer formed on the flexible substrate. A plurality of sensing members corresponding in number to end faces of a packaging box is adhered to the conductive layer. When the piezoelectric sensor is placed at the bottom of the packaging box containing goods, two ends of the piezoelectric sensor can be stretched to fit on the diagonal corners of the packaging box, and the sensing members are located on the respective end faces of the packaging box to achieve an all-round monitoring.

Abstract: Controlled-atmosphere flexible packaging includes a multilayer polymeric film heat-sealed to form an enclosure, with an alicyclic polyolefin barrier layer forming a heat-seal and a controlled atmosphere retained within said enclosure. The controlled atmosphere is selected from inert gas atmospheres, such as nitrogen atmospheres and the packaging is used for snack foods in order to extend shelf-life. In other embodiments, an alicyclic barrier component improves performance of gas barrier structures for a variety of applications.

Abstract: This invention describes the production of a polymeric film, specifically a mix of two different lattices, in order to obtain a barrier layer in food packaging that reduces bacterial cell growth. Said reduction in bacterial growth is a result of choosing not only a surface with chemical properties to prevent bacterial growth, but also, and especially, controlling the nanostructure of the surface in order to prevent bacterial adhesion and so prevent bacterial film formation. This is done by using a mixture of two lattices and thermally annealing the surface as needed to such surface topography that bacterial growth is decreased. This invention addresses the need for an increased shelf-life of groceries in order to reduce spoilage losses, and thus waste. In addition, this invention supports the need to monitor the spoilage of packaged food so that less food is unnecessarily disposed of and on the other hand, so that spoiled food is not consumed by humans.

Abstract: A pouch to hold a fluid. The pouch includes at least two compartments and at least two outlets that are each connected to a tube in each of the compartments. One compartment has a geometry that optimizes the volume of the pouch in order to prevent the pouch from collapsing at an acceptable maximum pressure.

The sheet comprises a first layer comprising a first copolyester having a glass transition temperature of from 70° C. to 90° C. and an intrinsic viscosity of from 0.70 dl/g to 0.90 dl/g. The first copolyester comprises from 50% to 85% by volume of the sheet. The sheet also comprises a second layer comprising a second copolyester having a glass transition temperature of equal to or greater than 112° C. The second copolyester comprises from 15% to 50% by volume of the sheet. The sheet is thermally stable after exposure to temperatures up to 112° C. Various embodiments of the sheet are also described.

Abstract: A package containing nuts and suitable for microwave heating is described herein. The package is configured to heat the nuts and provide an aroma reminiscent of traditional, freshly-roasted nuts. The freshly-roasted nut attributes include an aroma, temperature, texture and taste, which are reproduced with the microwave package. The package preferably, though not necessarily, incorporates one or more susceptors in order to provide additional heating, such as conductive heating, to the nuts. The package also preferably includes a sufficient headspace to allow for the aromas to develop.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a carry bag, the carry bag includes a body having sidewalls and at least one handle disposed on the body. The body is hollow and dimensioned to receive one or more objects that are to be kept either cooler or warmer than the ambient temperature surrounding the body. The sidewalls of the body are constructed from an outer layer that corresponds to an exterior side wall of the body, a heat reflective layer that corresponds with an interior side wall of the body, and an insulative and pliable foam filling disposed between the outer layer and the heat reflective layer. The at least one handle is adapted to swing out of the way when not in use, so that the opening of the bag is unobstructed, thereby allowing the easy placement or removal of items to/from the bag.

Abstract: An improved cigarette package is provided. The cigarette package first includes a container which serves as a housing for two or more compartments, each compartment holding a plurality of cigarettes. The package also includes a lid which is hingedly connected to the container at an upper end. Opening and closing the lid provides selective access and closure to the container. The inner compartments each include a compartment tab that allows for opening and re-sealing of the respective inner compartments. Thus, a dual-compartment cigarette package is provided wherein the compartments may be independently opened and re-sealed. The configuration allows for selective opening of a single compartment while preserving the factory seal on the unopened compartment so that freshness and aromatic oils of the cigarettes within the package are preserved, even after opening of the package and compartments.

The clevis affixes the wheel onto the extension plate in a steerable manner, thereby allowing the wheel to steer when the garbage bin makes a turn. The extension plate rotatably and laterally supports the garbage bin from tipping over. The garbage-bin coupler releasably couples the extension plate onto the wheel-and-axle assembly. As such, the extension plate may be retrofitted onto a variety of different garbage bins. The wheel and the axle along with the wheel-and-axle assembly allows the garbage bin to roll over the terrain. This allows the user to easily transport the garbage bin even if it is heavily loaded with waste.

Abstract: A transport container includes a frame structure, a housing, and an extendable and retractable platform that is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. Spaced apart shelves are disposed at opposite sides of the housing and are adjustable between a lowered position, where the support surfaces are at or near a level of the platform, and a raised position, where the support surfaces are raised above the platform. Articles are placed on the extended platform and then the platform is retracted so that the first articles are disposed partially over the support surfaces of the shelves. The shelves are raised to the raised position to raise the plurality of first articles above the platform, whereby the platform is extended to have a plurality of second articles placed thereon and retracted so that the second articles are disposed on the platform below the shelves and the first articles.
