Abstract: A locking device for a spindle of an electric tool comprises an output shaft, a fixing ring, a retainer, locking roller pins, bearing roller pins and a power output disc. When the power output disc is active, the power output disc drives the output shaft to rotate thus outputting torque and meanwhile driving the retainer to rotate synchronously; when the output shaft is active, the output shaft rotates to make the planes of the multi-surface shaft of the output shaft deflect and drives the locking roller pins to abut against the fixing ring so as to lock the spindle. In the locking process, under the supporting effect of the bearing roller pins, the spindle rotates in a balanced mode and is stressed uniformly, the locking reliability is high, and the overall structure assembling difficulty is low.

Abstract: A microplate handling apparatus comprising: a housing; a robotic arm mounted to the housing; and a controller located within the housing and arranged to control the robotic arm and further arranged to control an instrument. By embedding the controller within the robotic arm rather than having it as a separate PC the controller becomes a dedicated controller for the robotic arm and any associated instruments. As the controller is a dedicated controller, users are less likely to attempt to make use of the controller for any other purpose. The system provider/installer retains much greater control of the set up, e.g. of the operating system and software installation. There is a much lower likelihood of conflicting software or erroneous settings causing software problems. This reduces the number of software support problems that need to be answered which in turn reduces the cost of the system itself and/or any associated support contract.

Abstract: Electrical hair removal device and method for determining the time behavior of a cyclic motor process during use of the electrical hair removal device with a motor-driven hair cutting unit by measuring the motor current. Parallel to measuring the motor current, the induced voltage of the motor is measured and a timing property of the induced voltage is evaluated, wherein the duration of a time pattern in the induced voltage is analyzed as timing property of the induced voltage. A cutting activity of the electrical hair removal device during use is determined based on the evaluated timing property of the induced voltage, and a force applied onto skin during use of the electrical hair removal device is determined based on the measured motor current and, optionally, on the determined cutting activity.

Abstract: A rotary cutting device comprising an anvil and roll having at least one knife affixed thereon, the roll being rotatably mounted to the machine by bearings disposed on opposing ends of the roll and supported by bearing mounts connected to the machine frame. A thermal isolating mounting arrangement orients the bearing mounts so that thermal growth occurs along an axis generally perpendicular to a plane in which the knife and anvil interface. A thermal isolator may also be disposed between the bearing mounts and the machine frame to further inhibit heat transfer into the frame and the resultant effect on knife position.
