Publication number: 20190017961Abstract: The operation of a measuring probe used for measuring at least one property of a process material is monitored or determined while the measuring probe is in use. The measured property can be a pH measurement, or a CO2 or oxygen concentration of the process material. The measuring probe has an electrode with a sensing element. When the sensing element is in contact with the process material, the electrode delivers a measurement signal to the measurement signal circuit, where the electrode voltage is related to the measured property. The signal-processing unit determines a measurement quantity of the measured property using the measurement signal. When a test signal is delivered by the signal source to the test signal circuit during a verification phase, a coupling element ensures galvanic isolation between the measurement signal circuit and the test signal circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 16, 2018Publication date: January 17, 2019Inventor: Daniel Jungo

Publication number: 20190018003Abstract: Disclosed is a discrimination method of tumor cells, which can distinguish between tumor cells and normal cells. By administering in vivo a fluorescent dye such as 5-aminolevurinic acid (ALA) and light scattering particles such as titanium oxide particles separately and by irradiating light, there can be obtained fluorescence of such an intensity that makes it possible to distinguish between the tumor cells and the normal cells more definitely than fluorescence obtained with the fluorescent dye alone. Furthermore, the fluorescence emission time is extended by administering in vivo the fluorescent dye and the light scattering particles separately.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2018Publication date: January 17, 2019Inventors: Koki KANEHIRA, Yoshinobu KUBOTA, Atsuko OTAKE, Yukiko YANO

Publication number: 20190018004Abstract: A method for detecting a presence and/or a concentration of a target substance in a reagent solution using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) includes binding the target substance directly or indirectly to an electrode, and binding a detection agent directly or indirectly to the bound target substance. The method further includes modulating a pH of only a portion of the reagent solution in which the bound target substance and the bound detection agent are located using the electrode, the modulated pH of the portion of the reagent solution causing the bound detection agent to undergo a change, and detecting the change in the bound detection agent. The detected change corresponds to the presence of the target substance in the reagent solution and/or the concentration of the target substance in the reagent solution.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2017Publication date: January 17, 2019Inventors: Young Shik Shin, Nadezda Fomina, Christopher Johnson, Christoph Lang, Patrick Staley

Publication number: 20190018007Abstract: A sample analysis substrate includes a substrate; a first holding chamber; a reaction chamber; a first flow path having a first opening and a second opening respectively connected with the first holding chamber and reaction chamber; a main chamber; a second flow path having a third opening and a fourth opening respectively connected with the reaction chamber and the main chamber; and a magnet accommodation chamber capable of accommodating a magnet. The first opening is located closer to a rotation shaft than the second opening. The second opening is located closer to the rotation shaft than the third opening. The magnet accommodation chamber is located at a position at which, in the case where the magnet is accommodated in the magnet accommodation chamber, the magnet captures magnetic particles in the main chamber. The sample analysis substrate is rotatable to transfer a liquid.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2016Publication date: January 17, 2019Inventors: Fusatoshi OKAMOTO, Masahiro JOHNO

Publication number: 20190018009Abstract: Herein is reported a method for determining the binding affinity of the binding sites of a bivalent full length antibody of the human IgG1 subclass to a homo-multimeric antigen comprising the steps of i) incubating a mixture comprising the antibody and a polypeptide that is derived from lysine-gingipain of porphyromonas gingivalis at a pH of from pH 7.5 to pH 8.5, in the presence of a reducing agent, at a temperature of from 30° C. to 42° C., for time of from 10 min. to 240 min. to cleave the antibody into Fabs and Fc-region, and ii) determining the binding affinity of the Fabs of the antibody for its antigen using a surface plasmon resonance method by directly applying the incubated reaction mixture obtained in the previous step in the surface plasmon resonance method and therewith determining the binding affinity of the binding sites of the bivalent full length antibody of the human IgG1 subclass.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2018Publication date: January 17, 2019Applicant: Hoffmann-La Roche Inc.Inventors: Michael MOLHOJ, Christian GASSNER, Joerg MOELLEKEN, Manuel ENDESFELDER
