The self-zipping zipper includes magnetic elements arranged in rows, zipper end portions and a zipper intermediate portion. The magnetic element of the zipper end portion has a magnetic force concentrated structure, and the magnetic elements of the zipper intermediate portion including magnetic elements has a magnetic force concentrated structure and magnetic elements with one pole being an iron piece. Advantageous effects thereof are: the self-zipping zipper overcomes the shortcomings of conventional zippers being inconvenient for the elderly and children to pull and close, and provides a magnetic self-zipping zipper that is convenient to wear, washable, stable in pull-in forces, and easy to put on and take off. The magnetic element of the zipper end portion has a magnetic force concentrated structure, which has more stable pull-in forces.

The hair accessory illustratively includes a plurality of supplemental hairs, an attachment band that provides means for removably coupling the plurality of supplemental hairs to natural hairs included in the person's head of hair, and an outer strip coupled to the attachment band to cover at least a portion of the coupling means. The attachment band is illustratively flexible and couples to natural hairs included in the person's head of hair mechanically.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of fitting for pre-fabricated compression garments via digital imaging of a wearer body part and measurement of body part circumferences and, optionally, lengths therefrom. The present invention also relates to methods of generating a shape description derived from digital imaging of a patient body part or body area of interest and use of such shape description. Such shape description includes geometric information from which measurement information can optionally be derived. Included herein are methods for diagnosing and monitoring edema and other conditions in patients using shape descriptions acquired from a patient in need of such diagnosis and monitoring. The invention also includes use of the generated shape descriptions to make compression garments specifically configured for a patient's body part or body area. Compression garments generated from the generated shape descriptions are also included herein.

A valve can place the interior volume in fluid communication with the exterior of the membrane. In some embodiments, two or more structural members can be disposed within the interior volume. One structural member can be at least partially deformed when the athletic helmet is worn by a user.

Abstract: The footwear can be convertible between a shoe configuration and a sandal configuration. A flexible front vamp portion can be elevated into an upwardly flexed to an elevated position so it creates a cavity, in conjunction with the footwear upper portion, to receive the foot of the wearer to provide a shoe configuration. In particular, the toes of the wearer can reside in the cavity portion formed by the flexible front vamp portion. For conversion to a sandal configuration, the midsole can be removed from the outer sole and the front vamp portion can be downwardly flexed so that it collapses and then nests into the outer sole. The midsole can be replaced back into the outer sole, with the front vamp portion captured between the midsole and the outer sole, so the footwear can function as a sandal with the wearer's toes exposed.

Abstract: A high heeled shoe and shoe sole insert are provided that are configured to provide relief from the forces on the foot created by walking in high heels. The shoe comprises a layered sole having an outsole, a midsole, and an insole. The midsole of the shoe comprises a cutout that is positioned over the metatarsal pressure point of the user's foot when positioned within the shoe. The cutout is filled with a shock absorbing material, such as Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, and includes a layer of paperboard for further cushioning. The shoe sole insert similarly includes a metatarsal padded region and a medial longitudinal arch pad to provide a layer of cushioning above the midsole of a user's footwear. The present invention provides relief while wearing high heels by cushioning the user's foot in high pressure zones, thereby relieving the pressure and reducing injuries or soreness.

The various embodiments arrange either one or two draw straps connected to one or more squared-cord portions to draw in and tighten the sides of the squared-cord arrangement. A single pull strap in a first embodiment is redirected from a lateral orientation to a longitudinal orientation where it is drawn back and secured on the heel portion of the shoe. Alternate embodiments pull two parallel shorter draw straps laterally to points of securement on the sides of the shoe. Further alternate embodiments pull a draw strap longitudinally along a midline at the top of the shoe to a point of securement back onto the squared-cord arrangement.

In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive sensor, and the sensor is configured to sense changes in a foot proximity to the sensor in footwear. A baseline or reference condition for the capacitive sensor can be updated to accommodate different use conditions.

Abstract: A cleat device for adjustably securing two segments of a cord in locked engagement includes a body and an integral head having an open mouth communicating with a through passage and left and right cord channels extending from the through passage to slots at a back end of the body. The cord segments pass through the open mouth and out from an open top of the body. The cord segments are pulled down into the channels and slots to lock them in the cleat. The channels include ribbed sidewalls that progressively narrow near a bottom of the channels to wedge the cord segments in the locked position. The cord segments can be pulled out through the slots and out of the back end of the cleat when in the locked position, but cannot be pulled out in the opposite direction from the mouth when locked in the channels.

The cane may include a foot that has a relatively more pliable skirt and a relatively less pliable central nub to assist in maintaining the natural walking motion of the user.
