Abstract: A bun separator separates pre-sliced buns into portions. A bun feeder receives a pre-sliced bun having a plurality of portions and moves the pre-sliced bun along a first feed path. An obstruction is arranged relative to the first feed path and engages at least one portion of the plurality of portions of the pre-sliced bun. An actuator operates to selectively engage at least one portion of the plurality of portions of the pre-sliced bun against the obstruction to separate the least one portion of the pre-sliced bun and transfer the at least one portion to a second feed path.

Abstract: It has been found that the combination of enzymes, in particular the combination of a thermophilic serine protease and a lipase, are able to improve the short bite in bakery products. Abstract: The present invention relates to creams and methods of producing creams comprising protein aggregates which contribute to the improvement of creaminess, mouthfeel and texture. The creams comprise caseins and whey proteins in the ratio of 90:10 to 60:40, wherein the caseins/whey protein aggregates have a volume-based mean diameter d(4,3) of 5-30 micrometer as measured by laser diffraction. The process for preparing a cream comprising the steps of: a) providing a liquid cream at a temperature below 25° C., said cream comprising caseins and whey proteins in the ratio of 90:10 to 60:40; b) adjusting the pH of the cream provided in step a) in the range of 5.7 to 6.4; c) subjecting the cream obtained in step b) to a heat sterilization treatment at a temperature above 100° C.; d) cooling the cream obtained in step c) below 70° C. The use of such a diet may include feeding it to piglets post-weaning and transportation to alleviate some of the negative effects of such stressors on pig production and welfare. Use of L-glutamine in the piglets' diet may have several beneficial effects, such as the reduction of enteric disease and faster weight gain. The use of L-glutamine may be a cost-effective replacement for traditional dietary antibiotics in swine production.

Abstract: A freeze-dried pet food meal bar that is 100% nutritionally complete consisting of more than 30% crude protein, 35% crude fat, less than 20% carbohydrate and less than 10% moisture. The product will consist primarily of animal protein. Vitamins and mineral will be supplied via fruits and vegetables. Since the product is freeze dried the product will be semi-fractural and can be broken into smaller pieces for feeding. Control circuitry is configured to receive an indication of the airflow rate through the vaporizing unit, and, in response thereto, to determine a smoking profile that is desired by the user. The control circuitry drives the heating element to vaporize the active ingredient of the plant material by heating the plant material according to the determined smoking profile. The interactive fabric may be integrated into a wearable interactive garment (e.g., a jacket, shirt, or pants) that is coupled (e.g., via a wired or wireless connection) to a gesture manager. The gesture manager may be implemented at the interactive garment, or remote from the interactive garment, such as at a computing device that is wirelessly paired with the interactive garment and/or at a remote cloud based service. Generally, the gesture manager recognizes user interactions to the interactive fabric, and in response, triggers various different types of functionality, such as answering a phone call, sending a text message, creating a journal entry, and so forth.

Abstract: The invention features methods and devices for controlling bleeding from blood vessels that may be damaged as a result of trauma or impact with an object, such as a bullet or shrapnel. The device may be wearable by a user and include one or more components, such as wound sealant and multiple inflatable balloons/bladders. The device may be integrated into a garment, e.g., a vest, jacket, trousers, or full body suit. Once triggered (automatically or manually), the device may be used to deliver wound sealant to a wound site and/or pressure to the wound site by selective inflation of one or more balloons over exsanguinating blood vessels that may be damaged, thereby stopping or minimizing the bleeding. Alternatively, or in addition, the device may be used to stabilize a wounded wearer for, e.g., transportation purposes, or to provide buoyancy. Devices of the invention may also be used as a blood pressure monitor, as a massaging device, and as a breast pump.
