Abstract: A system for compensating for a slope of a work surface while drilling holes in the work surface includes a leveling system, a rotary drill mechanism, a position sensor, an inclination sensor, and controller. The controller is configured to access coordinates of a desired map drill hole, determine current coordinates of a machine reference, and determine a current slope of the machine. A dynamic offset compensation is determined to compensate for movement of the rotary drill mechanism by the leveling system from a first position offset from the desired map drill hole to a second position aligned with the desired map drill hole, with the dynamic offset compensation being based upon the characteristics and the current slope of the machine. Upon the rotary drill mechanism being aligned with the first position, generating a leveling command to move the machine so that the rotary drill mechanism is aligned with the desired map drill hole.

Abstract: A stress-transfer method in tunnel with high ground pressure based on fracturing ring. According to the stress source of the tunnel, fracturing by drilling holes to form artificial weaken zones in surrounding rocks, that's named fracturing ring. The fracturing ring is the weaken zone with some width, whose inner boundary is the protective circle. The fracturing ring with small width is called the cutting and interruption circle and the cutting or interruption arc. The radius of the protective circle is determined by setting a certain width of safety coal pillar barriers at the edge of a support body. The radius of the fracturing ring is determined by the surrounding rock structure and the stress conditions as well as the construction technology. Usually, the higher the stress, the wider the radius of the fracturing ring. The cutting and interruption circle or arc could cut off all of the targeted rock which transmits the stress.

Abstract: Electrically ignitable and electrically controllable explosive material (EIECEM) may be disposed within a shaped charge for deployment downhole. An explosion of the EIECEM is controlled by limiting the duration of excitation at the EIECEM, for example, the duration that an electrical source provides an electrical charge, electrical current or electrical signal. The shaped charge may be insulated from an electrical source to prevent explosion of the EIECEM and coupled to the electrical source to create ignite or explode the EIECEM. A plurality of shaped charges may be disposed downhole and may be ignited or exploded in any suitable order. The EIECEM may be ignited multiple times such that multiple explosions are created. The explosion of the EIECEM creates or extends a perforation or fracture in a formation. The shaped charges may be arranged to create a shaped perforation or fracture, such as a slot-shaped fracture.

Abstract: One or more wellbore servicing operations may require the pulsed delivery of a wellbore servicing fluid. To optimize efficiency and effectives of a given wellbore servicing operation a concentrated proppant stimulation fluid may be pumped downhole at a predetermined time interval from dedicated pumping units or positive displacement pumps. The flow rate of proppant in the concentrated proppant stimulation fluid pumped from these dedicated pumps may simulate a square-wave. The desired or determined square-wave or output may be predetermined and any one or more dedicated pumps may be associated with a given time interval and pumping cycle or phasing such that the overall flow of proppant from all of the dedicated pumps simulates a square-wave. Clean fluid from one or more clean fluid pumps may be combined with the concentrated proppant stimulation fluid to maintain a target flow rate of fluid downhole.

Abstract: A depth measurement apparatus for measuring the depth of a hole and/or the depth of any liquid or slurry in the hole. The depth measurement apparatus comprises a spool containing a length of cord having a bob attached to a free end of the cord remote from the spool. The bob is a solid body, preferably being in the shape of a sphere, a spheroid or an ellipsoid. The apparatus has a measuring device arranged to measure a length of the cord dispensed from the spool during use, which indicates the depth of the hole. The measuring device is also arranged to measure the acceleration rate at which the cord is dispensed from the spool, wherein a change in the acceleration rate indicates that the bob has entered a liquid or slurry.

Abstract: A system and method to automate data acquisition in a wireless telemetry network optimizes data acquisition to best match a target data set that the user desires given the performance limitations of the telemetry network. The user defines the target data set by providing inputs regarding a target quality of the target data set relative to a data set that has been produced and stored by a communication node in the network. The performance limitations of the network are defined in a system operating envelope. A data acquisition cycle is then automatically initiated and propagated in the network to acquire an actual data set that is an optimal match for the user's target given the system operating envelope.
