Abstract: A method for growing polycrystalline diamond films having engineered grain growth and microstructure. Grain growth of a polycrystalline diamond film on a substrate is manipulated by growing the diamond on a nanopatterned substrate having features on the order of the initial grain size of the diamond film. By growing the diamond on such nanopatterned substrates, the crystal texture of a polycrystalline diamond film can be engineered to favor the preferred <110> orientation texture, which in turn enhances the thermal conductivity of the diamond film.

In another step (S200), the reactor unit (11) is at least partially filled up to a predetermined fill level (13) with a reactant (18), such that a reaction between the fed biomass (10) and the reactant (18) takes place in order to obtain an impregnated biomass. In another step (S300), the impregnated biomass (10) is discharged from the reactor unit (11) for further processing (S300). The invention further relates to a device (1) for impregnating biomass (10).

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a Pickering emulsion comprising cellulose filaments. The heterogeneity of the cellulose filament material is critical and beneficial to the formation of stable emulsions. Emulsions with high stability can be prepared by controlling the CF surface properties. It is provided an emulsion comprising an internal phase dispersed in a continuous external phase and cellulose filaments located at the interface of the internal phase and the external phase, wherein the emulsion comprises 50% in volume or more of the internal phase and a method of producing same.

Abstract: Provided are woven papermaking fabrics useful in the manufacture of tissue products, particularly through-air dried tissue products. The fabrics generally have a plurality of protuberances disposed on the web contacting surfaces. The protuberances are formed from a plurality warp filaments interwoven with a plurality of shute filaments and have a hollow interior pocket, which is generally bounded by the warp and shute filaments. By providing protuberances with hollow interior pockets the air permeability of the resulting woven papermaking fabric may be improved, and in certain instances may be increased, relative to similar fabrics having protuberances that are non-hollow.

Abstract: A vehicle management system communicates with monitor devices coupled with a path control device at an intersection between route segments. The path control device switches positions to connect different combinations of the route segments. The system receives signals from the monitor devices to determine which of the route segments are coupled with each other and receives an authority signal from a travel authority system that indicates which of the route segments that the vehicle is authorized to travel. The system directs the vehicle through the path control device responsive to a combination of: (a) receipt of the authority signal and (b) receipt of at least one of the monitor signals or failure to receive one or more of the monitor signals.
