Abstract: Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for an extracorporeal, artificial, placenta. In some embodiments, an artificial placenta and amniotic bed system may comprise a control unit, a gas delivery unit, a gas exchange unit or membrane oxygenator, a fluids delivery unit, an amniotic fluid bed, and a human machine interface. In some embodiments, the artificial placenta and amniotic bed systems, devices, and methods described herein may improve survival rates and minimize long-term disabilities in preterm, gestational-age, newborns. In some embodiments, the extracorporeal systems, devices, and methods comprise an artificial network through which oxygen and nutrient-rich blood may flow into a fetus (residing in an amniotic fluid bed), while carbon dioxide and wastes may be removed, thus re-establishing a form of intrauterine placental circulation.

Abstract: A cervical traction device has and occipital tractioning member and a handle. The device is positioned between the occiput of a person and the floor or other surface. Rotation of the handle away from the person's torso exerts opposite forces against the occiput and the surface, which exerts a tractioning (extension) force upon the cervical spine. The occipital tractioning member can advantageously comprise first and second spaced apart plastic spheres.

Abstract: A motion augmentation system configured to utilize a plurality of cables to augment the user's native strength to aid in the movement of an appendage of a user through a desired range of motion by applying forces between a first body part and an appendage of the user, such that a natural anatomy of the user is at least partially used as a structure to affect movement. The motion augmentation system including a plurality of cables operably coupling a body chassis to at least one sleeve assembly, each of the plurality of cables traversing through a corresponding one of a plurality of embedded lumens within the sleeve assembly and controlled by one or more corresponding cable actuators operably coupled to the body chassis, the corresponding cable actuators configured to selectively apply a force via the plurality of cables between the body chassis in the at least one sleeve assembly.

Abstract: Our design provides a moderate control of abduction and adduction without requiring tools. This can be accomplished with a first push button 5, shown in FIG. 1, for a hip adjustment of both abduction and adduction between a hip shell 2 and a hip hinge assembly that provides release of locking pins for setting the flexion and extension movement of the user's leg. A second push button 6 provides abduction and adduction between the hip hinge assembly 1 and a thigh supporting unit. To facilitate an initial vertical adjustment, we provide a flexible plastic spacer 7 with circular openings extending through the spacer between the leg adjuster and the upper thigh support pad. The flexible plastic spacer 7 enables an initial adhesion between the hook and nap material through openings in the flexible plastic spacer 7.

Abstract: An apparatus for stimulation of erogenous body zones, such as a dildo and/or vibrator, having a through heating repeatedly moldable polymeric core (2) which becomes plastically moldable upon heating to a temperature above about 40° C., and which is dimensionally stable at normal body temperature and below. In result of its moldability, the apparatus can eliminate the need for separate articles for different kinds of stimulation. A tensile and elastic skin (3) encloses the polymeric core (2). The skin smoothens the shape of the apparatus and reduces the need for precision when reshaping the polymeric core.
